negl delves kind saved wow for me. even at the beginning of the expac you couldn't do a normal dungeons without tanks still in questing greens determined to pull half the dungeon at once, then rage quitting after the inevitable wipe. now i can just do delves and the occasional normal raid pug to keep my gear up and get on with collecting and gold making
I'm mostly a open world player delves are amazing for me. Me and my sis cleared our frist 8 this week. Felt rewarded and challenging without being rushed. We're working on pushing higher for bragging. Now they just need to make open world more dangerous and exciting.
Funny thing is I stopped tanking in groups because I was being yelled at for not pulling half of a dungeon In a single pull. I’m not interested in stressing out healers because people are so damn impatient now
Dude, I found your channel searching for a fishing guide and I gotta tell ya, you see this game just like do. It's so refreshing to find someone that plays the game to have fun. Delves are an awesome addition to the game for new players and the casual that considers a 4 a higher key in M+. The only thing no one seems to mention about the heroic piece you get out of the vault is the upgrade path. The only way to get those last 2 upgrades is getting gilded crests. That means either doing the last 2 bosses in a heroic raid or a 9 M+. I know for me, the highest I'll get this season is 619 ilvl because I have no desire to do that content.

Learning something new or meeting someone for the first time was exciting and, years later, still never tires of it. Yes, there are the trolls, the toxic antisocials, and the griefers.😢 But you demonstrated that Blizzard finally got it through their heads that the vast majority of their players cannot dedicate their lives to Mythic+ raiding and the other ones chose not to; only a very tiny population wants to hard-core raid anymore. I agree! Delves, once they get them fully operational, working as intended, and balanced, are the answer many of us have been looking for. Now, yes, they need to put us all through a 60 hour course on how to understand the gearing levels, balance the classes (again!), and keep implementing anti-cheat technology (it's rampant!). As a working parent that plays wow, Delves have been great. “Honey, can you help me really quick?!” Being able to say, “yes dear “ and not feel like I️ am missing out or pausing others gameplay; delves are awesome. On the other hand, my time is precious. If delves did not yield progression-like loot, I️ would not do them as much. Nor would I️ feel as accomplished in the goal of ilvl growth. Overall, delves have been good. I️ can honestly say that I️ have avoided mythic+ bc it stresses me out. My job is stressful (healthcare) enough and I️ game to vent the stress/cope. Outside of other options for stress relief (exercise), I️ enjoy battling other players or having success in raid and mythics. Brother boklahoma, have you felt like holy paladin’s dps has been good? I️ did some rbg/bgs today and had atleast 4 killing blows per match. It felt nice! I️ enjoy your videos!
For real tho, delves are nice and 90% of the time it is really chill and relaxed. Dunno if I’ll keep doing them once I cap out the season w/Brann but the gear isn’t my main focus. I _like_ that I can get heroic track gear, but as long as they tune delves to only be as difficult as what a player can get from gearing through delves, I don’t care too much about the gear quality.
@@Scuuurbs Yeah, I completely agree with this. We all know Mythic players will beat us to it and have a much easier time of it, but Let Me Solo Him should be doable for people in Delve gear.
@@bluebell459 thankfully they hotfixed it, and now ? Zekvir feels much more like a Tier 8/9 Delve boss. I haven’t tried ?? Zekvir since the hotfix but hopefully that’s more manageable now. The hardest part for me isn’t the DPS check spiders or the insta-kill abilities, it’s the fact that my class only has 1 kick and 1 movement ability, both on 30 sec CDs. It’s rough and it feels like I’m being punished for picking the ‘wrong’ class.
@@Scuuurbs I do feel like the ? difficulty is pretty easy after the hotfix. I tried ?? yesterday on my Ret Paladin (602 ilvl) and he was meleeing me for over 1.4M and he quickly killed Brann. I completely understand what you mean about feeling like being punished for picking the wrong class with the way these mechanics are.
Amen. Preach it. Delves brought me back to the game. I quit 1/3 of the way through Dragonflight after subbing since Burning Crusade. I'm too old to compete in M+ so what was there for me to do in the game. I no longer participate in group content due the behavior of the absolutely worst game population of any MMO out there. And let's be fair the poor behavior of the playerbase is fostered by the game that Blizzard has put out. Way too much stress. But, yeah, nice chill play in Delves that I can do by myself. Go to the fridge to get a drink while I wait on cooldowns for the end boss fight. Get some decent gear then go pick some flowers out in the world. Edit: Subbed and liked. Give some love to the smaller creators. The big boy creators cater to M+ and mythic raider crowd and no longer interest me.
I used to feel too intimidated to get into m+, but delves forced me to learn my class and get a little bit of gear. Delves were a gateway for me to get into m+ and now i love them. Haven't had this much fun in wow since Legion.
Great video as usual. As a preist main (holy / disc) if I'm not healing for friends or guildies, then I would much rather prefer to run a +8 delve instead of queuing for any +2 key. I try my hardest to avoid pug situations, and in the words of the great Boklahoma, "Chase Mongo and the meter maids from room to room as they make life as difficult as possible"
Delves changed everything for the better! I was contemplating quitting for good after having an active sub since 2004 but have been unable to dedicate time to it like I did when I was a student. In fact, I went to play one last time and clear the latest expansion storyline and then - I discovered delves. I haven't stopped playing daily since. Could not be happier with having WoW back in my life again. I am also back to prolific fishing and cooking and loving every moment.
Delves are the best thing to happen in ages. I love them. I really hope they stay relevant as seasons go on, I like where the gear sits in terms of track / level etc. You made a good point, delves are slower, and I think they should keep the reward where they are as the expansion continues.
If Delves vault topped out at Normal Raid I'd still do them over M+. Much happier gearing several characters slowly over the season, regardless of ilvl, than I ever was trying to keep up with the M+/Raid treadmill. In the days before M+, I would Raid on my main and gear all my Alts via Heroic Dungeons because they offered decent rewards over time. Ever since M+ was introduced, Heroic Dungeons were basically worthless because they gave worse rewards the WQ's... if you didn't go into Keys, you could hit your gear cap from WQ's in a few weeks. I also really enjoyed many of my Torghast runs, but the reward structure (or lack there of) turned it into a chore. Ideally, I'd love it if the Delve scaling made it's way into Follower Dungeons. I have a small group of RL friends I still play with but we rarely are able to get a 5 man group together because of work schedules and none of us want to heal. If we could scale Follower Dungeon rewards up to T8 and fill gaps with NPC's it would be amazing.
They've been trying to figure out single player progression that is fun for several expansions and they just struck gold with Delves. They are a hit so they should do everything they can to improve them; increase the rewards and add more options for gear progression from Delves. Downgrading Delves in any way because of M+ would be a terrible idea.

I agree with your breakdown. Delves are fun and moderately challenging. I enjoy them much more than that elitist culture of mythic plus. i have been having a great time with them and getting my three 616's for the vault so I can dedicate more time to fishing, cooking, and jewelcrafting. I have to say, I stumbled on your channel while looking for TWW videos...but you have gotten another sub! I personally loved doing M+ in DF...but it was stressful, and the higher you went, the more micro information you had to have. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, up to a point...when the TWW dungeons came out, I pretty much gave up on even attempting them...especially thinking of the minimum gear level would be required even just to break in. Current delves are, in my humble opinion, the answer to that. Now, casual players can gear enough to survive those one shot mechanics, and push to even higher keys...it is a win/win all the way around. I think Blizzard will be well rewarded with player numbers if they continue this trend.
Me and my wife have been playing wow almost 17 years. I used to raid hardcore, but now I'm in my 50's and not interested in being try-hard and sweaty anymore. Me and mine have been doing delves and follower dungeons together and been having a blast. Doing the follower dungeons made me familiar enough with them to put my toe back in to the LFG game and did my 4 weeklys for that. I think Delves are great for the game. Very good review. /liked
Nice transmog! You have such a great sense of style. Even if the gear drops in Delves were nerfed, I would still run them for the tokens in order to get the crests needed to upgrade my PvP gear.
The problem is Gatekeepers. Not people that want to gear up via both ends, not casuals who just want to feel like they have something to push through that isn't as hardcore as Mythic. It's GATEKEEPERS. People who are eating their food but looking at the plate of the guy go their right, and getting mad.
Burned out on m+ in shadowlands. I said never retail again, but came back just to try delves. Keep the gear as is or make it on par with raid/m+ gear. People need to get over gear "envy". Let people have fun, it's a game after all. Good video 👍🏻
If they really want to do it properly. They need to make the delve gear exclusive only to delve/world content. Not sure how PvP gear translates to PVE gear but something like that. You can get high end heroic/mythic tier gear from delves but it can only be used for more high end delve content or world content.
Right there with ya. I do not want to be stressed out in M+. I prefer delves even though my character is geared well. Currently 615 and totally fine with that. I do my delves and rep grind on retail then go over to my character on the anniversary realm. Hope to run into you there someday whether you’re carrying a hammer or a bow.
Being able to solo dungeons and also delves has brought me back to the game. I’m so bad at group content, I just get kicked and abused so I gave up after finishing BfA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight. Each time I tried but failed. At least now I can play the game solo.
So, you had a question about the item level, and here are my thoughts on that. Solo-playing doesn't mean I want to be isolated from hanging with a friend who happens to raid. It means I want a way to do stuff when we have time and can align our schedules to hang out for an hour or two. That would be a once-a-month thing. Now, with delves, there is a chance that they and I can join up to try and do a PUG for a raid, and I do not need to be carried, especially since I like tanking. Delves provide me with a level of progression that isn't as fast as raiding or as high-level, but it still gets the job done and means that when I and some WoW friends can hang out, I'm not being carried through things; instead, I'm able to participate more equally than any other expansion.
Only care about gear in so much as it helps me solo older content for mounts. Which is also the main reason I started doing delves since there's a mount involved. But after playing a ton of 'em now I can say it's one of the best experiences I've had in wow in a long time. It feels like I can finally access that kind of content that is basically gated from me in mythics, since I just don't have the time it'll take to grind up and trudge through the pain and suffering of pugging them. No, screw that. Give me more delving and the like please.
Hey man just found this channel looks like good content I just wanted to give my two sense I like the delves would I keep doing them on my main if the gear went to a lower tier no I wouldn’t but I would on my alts to keep them some what geared in case I main change down the road now my wife loves the delves she hasn’t even done any M+ she likes the delves so much. Now for mythic+ I’ve been doing them since there inception an have been pretty hardcore pushing my IO as high as I possibly can every season this season has to be one of the hardest most overturned seasons I can remember in recent memory an I’ve been doing +10s all this week so I hope they address this fast cause I know I’m not the only one feeling like this Keep up the great content
To answer the gear question: yeah, I would still do delves if the gear was lower, but that's mostly cuz I'm not doing them just for the gear. Right now, I still feel like I'm catching up to the expansion, and I don't have a lot of hours to play every day. I log on, maybe do a world event if I haven't done it this week, do some world quests, maybe do a delve. I want to get KSM sometime this season, but I'm not in a hurry. Maybe dip my toes in a Normal raid pug. So yeah, right now I would still be doing the delves even if the gear was lower and then when I wanted to "move up" in terms of content difficulty I would just have to rely on those sources of gear like I did in Dragonflight. Right now Delves still feel like a "bonus" feature I guess.
I would like them still add better gear for those levels after 8. I recently did 10 delve solo and it was starting to be ridiculous. Was doable as a tank but pulls needed to be very precise.
Delves are in a good spot, and I think help round out the content available for more casual. The majority of the player base getting easier access and the ability to get full Hero track gear by the end of the season is great! M+10s and higher and Mythic Raids rewarding Myth track gear sets that hard divide on gear and is content that most players wouldn't have ever touched in previous expansions anyways. There's also the bulk of players that just play this game as single player experience and giving them something more challenging than what is essentially a tutorial mode for the raid and dungeons (follower dungeons and story mode) is a great addition. I think its fine to set that hard limit on gear. You should have to work hard and struggle to get the absolute best gear, but its nice that there are more options for "good enough" gear with a moderate challenge tied to it.
Love your video, but funnilty enough, hubby is enjoying these better than anything in several expansions - because we can make the delves too hard for us. If it takes 5 tries to kill the final boss? thats what he likes. Fishing in a delve sound nice to me though!
Delves are allowing me to enjoy the game and get some gear. M+ wouldn’t work with my little family. Yeap I’m a casual. There are still enough people who want to play M+ for the challenge.
Yeah I'm just really curious what you need gear for if you're not gonna do anything with it. Like I don't mind you getting gear for Delves, really just curious. You don't need it for anything in the open world cause it's so bloody easy, and if you get too much gear the raid bosses stop being bosses and turn into training dummies because the mechanics can't do anything to you. :)

I can use the gear to do better delves and help my guild out when we do some occasionally casual raiding. And when I don’t get gear from bosses (fuck you malchezean) I don’t care. 14:54 I've levered up to t11 and planning on filling out the delve achievements so yes. Will I do repeatedly - probably not. I'm closing in on 603 avg and bountiful ones aren't that enticing anymore, not to mention that I hate farming coffer keys on multiple chars. So I'm kinda in the mode of just doing Zekvir two or four times for vault on the characters/classes it''s easy enough to do. As for gear level. I feel a bit sad that m0 is Veteran, i.e. completely useless compared to a T8 delve. Other than that I think it's fine that the gear is good. With one good piece a week it drips in rather slow so it's ok.
Yeah I think opening more and more delves and removing the key system and just making the gear reward at the end 603 for all tier 8s you’d see that delves are super popular
As a mom of 5 kids delves are are amazing, I usually only play once my kids go to bed but even if I have to be pulled away from my pc it’s no big deal. Plus I don’t really like people besides my kids and husband so it’s a win win 😂
As a new player (that played wotlk on pserversfor the last 10 years) I dont even want to try the mythic dungeons, delves are fun for me and allow me to slowly gear for raiding with my guild.
How about some holy paladin guide? I got into the game a few weeks ago and need some simple healer class. Holy pally looks like it. Do you use any addons for healing?
I never plan on doing that delve again unless I am on my warlock. It was night and day experience not having to worry about running out of breath and you even get an achievement if you never run out of breath.
Id do delves if it was only cosmetics, its one of the only endgame system's for solo players and small groups to get some challenge, since blizz made the open world a joke and no more group quest hubs. If they iterate and keep them going i think it will stay a great pillar of endgame.
Great video. Subbed. I’m a returning player who hadn’t played in over a decade. All the awful, toxic neckbeards stories kinda repel me from doing m+ and even raiding. Been focusing on delves and enjoying them. You go at your own pace and still get solid gear. I don’t mind them making them more difficult, though. If you mess up, it’s just you. No go is neckbeard who’s gonna cry over a game. Also completely agree with your comments on gear. Green, blues, purples and a handful of oranges. Veterans liked it. New players liked it. It was simple and practical. Now you have this dumb hero 4/8, champion 1/5, adventurer 3/6, veteran 2/8. It’s so stupid, unnecessarily complicated and pointless. Like who is this dumb shit even for?
There is no way to upgrade your Heroic track gear beyond 616 with just Delves. If you want to upgrade that gear you have to do M+ or raids. And just trying to level gear past 606 is sooooo painfully slow as you only get 2 Runed Crests per delve. That's 2 weeks before you can even upgrade 1 piece of gear just 3 item levels. When you consider all this, I think delve gearing isn't nearly as good as M+ or raids. It seemed a lot faster than it would normally be because people had weeks of keys stored up before M+ opened up, and that is why everyone was doing Delves instead of M+
Yeah alright... but I have a question. What on earth do you need gear for then if you don't want to do the hard content? Like I'm genuinely curious why you even want it then, since it is ENTIRELY pointless beyond that use. Also a point about crests. Crests are *timegated* so you cannot earn more than a set amount each week of the expansion, with the limit cap being increased each week. So there's no POINT in running m+ or anything else for crests past a certain point because you literally cannot get it until the cap increases again for these first weeks... and next season it's probably gonna be timegated the same way.

As someone who has played MMORPGs since the late 90's, I have seen what happens when everyones special: 1. Challenge is no longer a virtue. 2. Patience is a thing of the past. 3. Skill is secondary to gear. 4. Failure is not an option. 5. Group play is a thing of the past. 6. Risk is a four-letter word. 7. Homogenization is the norm. 8. Creativity is stifled. 9. I think one reason there is so much hate on delves is that it's made it a lot harder to sell M+ carries. The gatekeeper hate that. If they can just get the gear delve nerfed enough sales will pick up again.
@3:00 healers literally cried over having to dps and asked to just be able to heal. So this is blizzard giving them what they want. Now they get to spend every single global keeping the party alive. Now healers don't have to cry about doing damage to help beat the dungeon. Oh and they also cried about tanks being able to "solo the game" so now you also get to deal with squishier tanks and need to find time for globals to keep your tank alive. Healer mains really shot themselves in the foot.
In terms of loot. Let it be. I will play WoW way more if they keep the loot at this level. I'm not trying to rush through and get the highest level possible. I just want something I can solo or play with family that's actually challenging and gives me chances of high end reward I'll happily play WoW for months having fun doing delves working towards a high level
Delves are the best thing that happened to wow and the one thing that brought me back. I can’t take the elitism in mythic dungeons and the loot is fine as it is. The real loot is still only available in the absolute highest content, so no need to meddle with it imo.
I love delves the ability for me to play and take a break and still achieve something is divine. I few points on them ...if you have keys you should be able to convert any delve into bountiful - sort of like the key system in mythic+ but why limit it to 4 a day and 4 a day doesnt matter if I only have 2 keys - and f that water one in the a ...drowning because I am dumb is rage inducing lol. If you do burn a key on a bountiful it should offer you a piece of gear that is a upgrade or at minimum a way to trade it for a piece needed - I have 8 - i603 trinkets ok? I need a i603 neck to replace my i554 ffs. Looking forward to having a new companion as well -- only suggestion I will make on companions is I wish I could paperdoll gear on them like the transmog for dragon mounts. oh and Brann needs a little better aim for tossing healing pots.
I am a pvp at my core, i don't think i would do Delves on my 1 pve character if it wasnt such a good way to get gear form it. Getting hero track gear fro mthe maps is my main reason for doing them, the vault reward doesn't matter to me as much.
Delves can get pretty hard at the higher tiers. They are also kinda fun. Like the candle ones. But I don't know if I could continuously do them. Fellow Okie here... I started in original EverQuest.. I don't like how mmos turned out where you have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off avoiding shiny crap on the ground. Or a terrifying stupid arrow on your head that you have to run to some stupid circle. Ugly. Not immersive. Miss hardcore crowd control... Serious resistance needs.. debutfs having real meaning... I miss when they felt like an adventure...
I love Delves but I’m not sure I like the same type of content as most players. I was also a huge fan of island expeditions but apparently the wow community didn’t like them.
No I would probably not do delves if the gear wasnt good. I would do them the one time for the quests and then maybe them for some weekly stuff buts thats about max. I however am a major casual in this game. I joined late am just moving through the content slowly to avoid burnout. Still cleaning up all the side quests
Also I think the issue with doing them over and over is that they are nowhere near as enhoyable and interesting as dungeons and raids. The difference in effort for delves vs raids/dungeons is crazu
None of that has really changed. The elite raiders will always be rewarded with the highest level gear. You won't be getting Hero or Mythic gear from Delves. You can get 1 piece a week of Hero gear from the Vault, but that means it would take you 14 weeks and some luck to be in full Hero gear. You also won't be able to upgrade it past lvl 4 without the crests from, you guessed it, high level Mythic + dungeons and Mythic Raiding. That being said, I think delves strike a great balance. I don't have a problem with a merit based system. Elite players who dump 70 - 100 hours a week into the game should have the best gear. Casual players should accept that a merit based system is the only path to long term viability and success. Don't be envious, as I am sure there are other's who are envious of you. Delves are in a great place. You get excellent gear. The higher levels reward higher rewards. They take about the same time at higher tier delves as a Mythic + run, and they are fun for small groups. My only issue with delves is that they aren't fully balanced for each spec and class. Some classes, like rogues, have a much tougher time at the highest levels of delves. Same for priests. Pet classes seem to have the easiest time along with tanking classes. I would like to see a Bran option for tanking! Your point on why people do the Mythic + and raiding is spot on. They enjoy that aspect. I do all, and the Mythic + is WAY overtuned. It's ridiculous how tough they are at higher levels. But some people LOVE it.
Delves are the piece of content that sold me on returning to WoW after dipping out after the first month of SL. So far I'm really liking them, and I don't really care about the item level of the gear they drop, at least as it relates to other end game content. By that I mean I only care about the gear Delves give me that allow me to progress towards doing the optional higher tier delves later on.
I disagree with your take that wow isn’t a place where content creators can come into and grow, one of my favorite channels the comeback kids has recently started making wow content and they are getting close to 100k views a video.
everyone has there way of playing the delves are just a new way to play i hope they carry them on in future expansions and its not just a one time thing nothing wrong with casual players without them and for people who play solo and never group up the game would be empty not everyone wants to group up! on another note this could be a testing for the game to come to consoles you just never know
I'm digging Delves, and haven't ran any dungeons. I can finally play my hunter and not have to wait 15 to 20 minutes just to play the game or heal after a tank on speed, crack or whatever they're on. Try-hards ruin the other game modes for me, it's not about fun it's about proficiency.
People do delves for easy loot. The itemization isn't great and you can't get to top ilevel (639), but the gear lets people have a shot a m+ or mythic raiding fantasy, both of which IMO are too sweaty...a challenge is fine with me, but people are so impatient and toxic, which is kinda fair because the whole game 90% of content you basically never die and now you get one shot because you weren't perfect. Either way, WOW endgame is just a repeat loop of the same grind - this is the thing that, once realized, people quit over and never come back with because of.
I’m not too sure why you keep complaining about M+ content when the video is meant to be about how good delves are lol. I agree with you that delves are good for the longevity of the game but leave M+ alone, yea it’s overtuned in some ways but it’s the start of the expansion and some of the dungeons are just not the best this expansion but overall (as a average player). I’m honestly having a lot of fun climbing up through m+ this expansion more than ever. Not trying to hate on you or your video, the message about delves was good but not sure why you kept putting down m+, yes it’s not catered for the casual player but they have ways to ease into m+. If they want to start climbing to harder m+ content then they need to practise and get used the mechanics, it’s very rewarding even for average players when you actually do well and progress higher. I personally actually hate raiding, even if it is “easier”, it just doesn’t really excite me like m+ content does.
My situation is opposite, I don't do delves because I don't have time to solo a lot since I have friends who want to do keys and raids. Some days I do think about going antisocial with the "away" option on bnet and making a new character who only does professions, achievements, and delves. Maybe that would be more fulfilling idk. I'm torn honestly. Your channel isnt helping lmao. If only I could get paid to play wow then I could do it all.
If you’re one of the lucky few with friends who still play the game, I would personally continue going the social route with M+/raids. Plus a steadier flow of gear, and you can delve when you’re bored and just feel like it for fun. 💪
The gayest thing about delves is that the scaling doesn't work. If you have 5 580-590 ilevel spuds doing a +8 with a 1/3/1 set up, you're fine. Clears super easily. People are treating them like dungeons
negl delves kind saved wow for me. even at the beginning of the expac you couldn't do a normal dungeons without tanks still in questing greens determined to pull half the dungeon at once, then rage quitting after the inevitable wipe. now i can just do delves and the occasional normal raid pug to keep my gear up and get on with collecting and gold making
I'm mostly a open world player delves are amazing for me. Me and my sis cleared our frist 8 this week. Felt rewarded and challenging without being rushed. We're working on pushing higher for bragging. Now they just need to make open world more dangerous and exciting.
Funny thing is I stopped tanking in groups because I was being yelled at for not pulling half of a dungeon In a single pull. I’m not interested in stressing out healers because people are so damn impatient now
Dude, I found your channel searching for a fishing guide and I gotta tell ya, you see this game just like do. It's so refreshing to find someone that plays the game to have fun. Delves are an awesome addition to the game for new players and the casual that considers a 4 a higher key in M+. The only thing no one seems to mention about the heroic piece you get out of the vault is the upgrade path. The only way to get those last 2 upgrades is getting gilded crests. That means either doing the last 2 bosses in a heroic raid or a 9 M+. I know for me, the highest I'll get this season is 619 ilvl because I have no desire to do that content.

I agree! Delves, once they get them fully operational, working as intended, and balanced, are the answer many of us have been looking for. Now, yes, they need to put us all through a 60 hour course on how to understand the gearing levels, balance the classes (again!), and keep implementing anti-cheat technology (it's rampant!). As a working parent that plays wow, Delves have been great. “Honey, can you help me really quick?!” Being able to say, “yes dear “ and not feel like I️ am missing out or pausing others gameplay; delves are awesome.
On the other hand, my time is precious. If delves did not yield progression-like loot, I️ would not do them as much. Nor would I️ feel as accomplished in the goal of ilvl growth.
Overall, delves have been good.
I️ can honestly say that I️ have avoided mythic+ bc it stresses me out. My job is stressful (healthcare) enough and I️ game to vent the stress/cope. Outside of other options for stress relief (exercise), I️ enjoy battling other players or having success in raid and mythics.

For real tho, delves are nice and 90% of the time it is really chill and relaxed. Dunno if I’ll keep doing them once I cap out the season w/Brann but the gear isn’t my main focus. I _like_ that I can get heroic track gear, but as long as they tune delves to only be as difficult as what a player can get from gearing through delves, I don’t care too much about the gear quality.
@@Scuuurbs Yeah, I completely agree with this. We all know Mythic players will beat us to it and have a much easier time of it, but Let Me Solo Him should be doable for people in Delve gear.

I haven’t tried ?? Zekvir since the hotfix but hopefully that’s more manageable now. The hardest part for me isn’t the DPS check spiders or the insta-kill abilities, it’s the fact that my class only has 1 kick and 1 movement ability, both on 30 sec CDs.
It’s rough and it feels like I’m being punished for picking the ‘wrong’ class.
@@Scuuurbs I do feel like the ? difficulty is pretty easy after the hotfix. I tried ?? yesterday on my Ret Paladin (602 ilvl) and he was meleeing me for over 1.4M and he quickly killed Brann. I completely understand what you mean about feeling like being punished for picking the wrong class with the way these mechanics are.

Amen. Preach it. Delves brought me back to the game. I quit 1/3 of the way through Dragonflight after subbing since Burning Crusade. I'm too old to compete in M+ so what was there for me to do in the game. I no longer participate in group content due the behavior of the absolutely worst game population of any MMO out there. And let's be fair the poor behavior of the playerbase is fostered by the game that Blizzard has put out. Way too much stress. But, yeah, nice chill play in Delves that I can do by myself. Go to the fridge to get a drink while I wait on cooldowns for the end boss fight. Get some decent gear then go pick some flowers out in the world.
Edit: Subbed and liked. Give some love to the smaller creators. The big boy creators cater to M+ and mythic raider crowd and no longer interest me.
As long as the gear provided allowed me to work my way up the Delve difficulty ladder in a fun and low stress way, I wouldn't care what LvL it was.

I used to feel too intimidated to get into m+, but delves forced me to learn my class and get a little bit of gear. Delves were a gateway for me to get into m+ and now i love them. Haven't had this much fun in wow since Legion.
Great video as usual. As a preist main (holy / disc) if I'm not healing for friends or guildies, then I would much rather prefer to run a +8 delve instead of queuing for any +2 key. I try my hardest to avoid pug situations, and in the words of the great Boklahoma, "Chase Mongo and the meter maids from room to room as they make life as difficult as possible"
Delves changed everything for the better! I was contemplating quitting for good after having an active sub since 2004 but have been unable to dedicate time to it like I did when I was a student. In fact, I went to play one last time and clear the latest expansion storyline and then - I discovered delves. I haven't stopped playing daily since. Could not be happier with having WoW back in my life again. I am also back to prolific fishing and cooking and loving every moment.
Delves are the best thing to happen in ages. I love them. I really hope they stay relevant as seasons go on, I like where the gear sits in terms of track / level etc. You made a good point, delves are slower, and I think they should keep the reward where they are as the expansion continues.
If Delves vault topped out at Normal Raid I'd still do them over M+. Much happier gearing several characters slowly over the season, regardless of ilvl, than I ever was trying to keep up with the M+/Raid treadmill. In the days before M+, I would Raid on my main and gear all my Alts via Heroic Dungeons because they offered decent rewards over time. Ever since M+ was introduced, Heroic Dungeons were basically worthless because they gave worse rewards the WQ's... if you didn't go into Keys, you could hit your gear cap from WQ's in a few weeks.
I also really enjoyed many of my Torghast runs, but the reward structure (or lack there of) turned it into a chore.
Ideally, I'd love it if the Delve scaling made it's way into Follower Dungeons. I have a small group of RL friends I still play with but we rarely are able to get a 5 man group together because of work schedules and none of us want to heal. If we could scale Follower Dungeon rewards up to T8 and fill gaps with NPC's it would be amazing.

They've been trying to figure out single player progression that is fun for several expansions and they just struck gold with Delves. They are a hit so they should do everything they can to improve them; increase the rewards and add more options for gear progression from Delves. Downgrading Delves in any way because of M+ would be a terrible idea.

I have to say, I stumbled on your channel while looking for TWW videos...but you have gotten another sub!
I personally loved doing M+ in DF...but it was stressful, and the higher you went, the more micro information you had to have. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, up to a point...when the TWW dungeons came out, I pretty much gave up on even attempting them...especially thinking of the minimum gear level would be required even just to break in.
Current delves are, in my humble opinion, the answer to that. Now, casual players can gear enough to survive those one shot mechanics, and push to even higher keys...it is a win/win all the way around. I think Blizzard will be well rewarded with player numbers if they continue this trend.
Me and my wife have been playing wow almost 17 years. I used to raid hardcore, but now I'm in my 50's and not interested in being try-hard and sweaty anymore. Me and mine have been doing delves and follower dungeons together and been having a blast. Doing the follower dungeons made me familiar enough with them to put my toe back in to the LFG game and did my 4 weeklys for that. I think Delves are great for the game. Very good review. /liked
Nice transmog! You have such a great sense of style. Even if the gear drops in Delves were nerfed, I would still run them for the tokens in order to get the crests needed to upgrade my PvP gear.

The problem is Gatekeepers. Not people that want to gear up via both ends, not casuals who just want to feel like they have something to push through that isn't as hardcore as Mythic. It's GATEKEEPERS. People who are eating their food but looking at the plate of the guy go their right, and getting mad.
Burned out on m+ in shadowlands. I said never retail again, but came back just to try delves. Keep the gear as is or make it on par with raid/m+ gear. People need to get over gear "envy". Let people have fun, it's a game after all. Good video 👍🏻
If they really want to do it properly. They need to make the delve gear exclusive only to delve/world content. Not sure how PvP gear translates to PVE gear but something like that. You can get high end heroic/mythic tier gear from delves but it can only be used for more high end delve content or world content.
Right there with ya. I do not want to be stressed out in M+. I prefer delves even though my character is geared well. Currently 615 and totally fine with that. I do my delves and rep grind on retail then go over to my character on the anniversary realm. Hope to run into you there someday whether you’re carrying a hammer or a bow.

Being able to solo dungeons and also delves has brought me back to the game. I’m so bad at group content, I just get kicked and abused so I gave up after finishing BfA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight. Each time I tried but failed. At least now I can play the game solo.
So, you had a question about the item level, and here are my thoughts on that. Solo-playing doesn't mean I want to be isolated from hanging with a friend who happens to raid. It means I want a way to do stuff when we have time and can align our schedules to hang out for an hour or two. That would be a once-a-month thing. Now, with delves, there is a chance that they and I can join up to try and do a PUG for a raid, and I do not need to be carried, especially since I like tanking.
Delves provide me with a level of progression that isn't as fast as raiding or as high-level, but it still gets the job done and means that when I and some WoW friends can hang out, I'm not being carried through things; instead, I'm able to participate more equally than any other expansion.
Only care about gear in so much as it helps me solo older content for mounts. Which is also the main reason I started doing delves since there's a mount involved. But after playing a ton of 'em now I can say it's one of the best experiences I've had in wow in a long time. It feels like I can finally access that kind of content that is basically gated from me in mythics, since I just don't have the time it'll take to grind up and trudge through the pain and suffering of pugging them. No, screw that. Give me more delving and the like please.

Hey man just found this channel looks like good content I just wanted to give my two sense I like the delves would I keep doing them on my main if the gear went to a lower tier no I wouldn’t but I would on my alts to keep them some what geared in case I main change down the road now my wife loves the delves she hasn’t even done any M+ she likes the delves so much.
Now for mythic+ I’ve been doing them since there inception an have been pretty hardcore pushing my IO as high as I possibly can every season this season has to be one of the hardest most overturned seasons I can remember in recent memory an I’ve been doing +10s all this week so I hope they address this fast cause I know I’m not the only one feeling like this

To answer the gear question: yeah, I would still do delves if the gear was lower, but that's mostly cuz I'm not doing them just for the gear. Right now, I still feel like I'm catching up to the expansion, and I don't have a lot of hours to play every day. I log on, maybe do a world event if I haven't done it this week, do some world quests, maybe do a delve. I want to get KSM sometime this season, but I'm not in a hurry. Maybe dip my toes in a Normal raid pug. So yeah, right now I would still be doing the delves even if the gear was lower and then when I wanted to "move up" in terms of content difficulty I would just have to rely on those sources of gear like I did in Dragonflight. Right now Delves still feel like a "bonus" feature I guess.

I would like them still add better gear for those levels after 8. I recently did 10 delve solo and it was starting to be ridiculous. Was doable as a tank but pulls needed to be very precise.
Delves are in a good spot, and I think help round out the content available for more casual. The majority of the player base getting easier access and the ability to get full Hero track gear by the end of the season is great! M+10s and higher and Mythic Raids rewarding Myth track gear sets that hard divide on gear and is content that most players wouldn't have ever touched in previous expansions anyways.
There's also the bulk of players that just play this game as single player experience and giving them something more challenging than what is essentially a tutorial mode for the raid and dungeons (follower dungeons and story mode) is a great addition.
I think its fine to set that hard limit on gear. You should have to work hard and struggle to get the absolute best gear, but its nice that there are more options for "good enough" gear with a moderate challenge tied to it.

Delves are allowing me to enjoy the game and get some gear. M+ wouldn’t work with my little family. Yeap I’m a casual. There are still enough people who want to play M+ for the challenge.
Yeah I'm just really curious what you need gear for if you're not gonna do anything with it. Like I don't mind you getting gear for Delves, really just curious. You don't need it for anything in the open world cause it's so bloody easy, and if you get too much gear the raid bosses stop being bosses and turn into training dummies because the mechanics can't do anything to you. :)

14:54 I've levered up to t11 and planning on filling out the delve achievements so yes. Will I do repeatedly - probably not. I'm closing in on 603 avg and bountiful ones aren't that enticing anymore, not to mention that I hate farming coffer keys on multiple chars. So I'm kinda in the mode of just doing Zekvir two or four times for vault on the characters/classes it''s easy enough to do. As for gear level. I feel a bit sad that m0 is Veteran, i.e. completely useless compared to a T8 delve. Other than that I think it's fine that the gear is good. With one good piece a week it drips in rather slow so it's ok.
Yeah I think opening more and more delves and removing the key system and just making the gear reward at the end 603 for all tier 8s you’d see that delves are super popular
As a mom of 5 kids delves are are amazing, I usually only play once my kids go to bed but even if I have to be pulled away from my pc it’s no big deal. Plus I don’t really like people besides my kids and husband so it’s a win win 😂
I'm a M+ guy, if the gear wasn't there I wouldn't do delves. I do enjoy delves and think the reward structure is right where it needs to be.
As a new player (that played wotlk on pserversfor the last 10 years) I dont even want to try the mythic dungeons, delves are fun for me and allow me to slowly gear for raiding with my guild.

I never plan on doing that delve again unless I am on my warlock. It was night and day experience not having to worry about running out of breath and you even get an achievement if you never run out of breath.

Id do delves if it was only cosmetics, its one of the only endgame system's for solo players and small groups to get some challenge, since blizz made the open world a joke and no more group quest hubs. If they iterate and keep them going i think it will stay a great pillar of endgame.

Been focusing on delves and enjoying them. You go at your own pace and still get solid gear.

Also completely agree with your comments on gear. Green, blues, purples and a handful of oranges. Veterans liked it. New players liked it. It was simple and practical. Now you have this dumb hero 4/8, champion 1/5, adventurer 3/6, veteran 2/8. It’s so stupid, unnecessarily complicated and pointless. Like who is this dumb shit even for?
I think if delves had started at 597 instead of 603, I'd have still filled all my slots with delves before almost anything else lol

There is no way to upgrade your Heroic track gear beyond 616 with just Delves. If you want to upgrade that gear you have to do M+ or raids. And just trying to level gear past 606 is sooooo painfully slow as you only get 2 Runed Crests per delve. That's 2 weeks before you can even upgrade 1 piece of gear just 3 item levels. When you consider all this, I think delve gearing isn't nearly as good as M+ or raids. It seemed a lot faster than it would normally be because people had weeks of keys stored up before M+ opened up, and that is why everyone was doing Delves instead of M+

What on earth do you need gear for then if you don't want to do the hard content? Like I'm genuinely curious why you even want it then, since it is ENTIRELY pointless beyond that use.
Also a point about crests. Crests are *timegated* so you cannot earn more than a set amount each week of the expansion, with the limit cap being increased each week. So there's no POINT in running m+ or anything else for crests past a certain point because you literally cannot get it until the cap increases again for these first weeks... and next season it's probably gonna be timegated the same way.

I think one reason there is so much hate on delves is that it's made it a lot harder to sell M+ carries. The gatekeeper hate that. If they can just get the gear delve nerfed enough sales will pick up again.
@3:00 healers literally cried over having to dps and asked to just be able to heal. So this is blizzard giving them what they want. Now they get to spend every single global keeping the party alive. Now healers don't have to cry about doing damage to help beat the dungeon.
Oh and they also cried about tanks being able to "solo the game" so now you also get to deal with squishier tanks and need to find time for globals to keep your tank alive.
Healer mains really shot themselves in the foot.
In terms of loot. Let it be. I will play WoW way more if they keep the loot at this level. I'm not trying to rush through and get the highest level possible. I just want something I can solo or play with family that's actually challenging and gives me chances of high end reward

Delves are the best thing that happened to wow and the one thing that brought me back. I can’t take the elitism in mythic dungeons and the loot is fine as it is. The real loot is still only available in the absolute highest content, so no need to meddle with it imo.
I got lucky and 3 of my toons jave 2 piece tier and 4 others have 1 piece tier just from the great vault lol
I love delves the ability for me to play and take a break and still achieve something is divine. I few points on them ...if you have keys you should be able to convert any delve into bountiful - sort of like the key system in mythic+ but why limit it to 4 a day and 4 a day doesnt matter if I only have 2 keys - and f that water one in the a ...drowning because I am dumb is rage inducing lol. If you do burn a key on a bountiful it should offer you a piece of gear that is a upgrade or at minimum a way to trade it for a piece needed - I have 8 - i603 trinkets ok? I need a i603 neck to replace my i554 ffs. Looking forward to having a new companion as well -- only suggestion I will make on companions is I wish I could paperdoll gear on them like the transmog for dragon mounts. oh and Brann needs a little better aim for tossing healing pots.

I am a pvp at my core, i don't think i would do Delves on my 1 pve character if it wasnt such a good way to get gear form it. Getting hero track gear fro mthe maps is my main reason for doing them, the vault reward doesn't matter to me as much.

Delves can get pretty hard at the higher tiers. They are also kinda fun. Like the candle ones. But I don't know if I could continuously do them. Fellow Okie here... I started in original EverQuest.. I don't like how mmos turned out where you have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off avoiding shiny crap on the ground. Or a terrifying stupid arrow on your head that you have to run to some stupid circle. Ugly. Not immersive. Miss hardcore crowd control... Serious resistance needs.. debutfs having real meaning... I miss when they felt like an adventure...

I love Delves but I’m not sure I like the same type of content as most players. I was also a huge fan of island expeditions but apparently the wow community didn’t like them.

No I would probably not do delves if the gear wasnt good. I would do them the one time for the quests and then maybe them for some weekly stuff buts thats about max. I however am a major casual in this game. I joined late am just moving through the content slowly to avoid burnout. Still cleaning up all the side quests
Also I think the issue with doing them over and over is that they are nowhere near as enhoyable and interesting as dungeons and raids. The difference in effort for delves vs raids/dungeons is crazu
None of that has really changed. The elite raiders will always be rewarded with the highest level gear. You won't be getting Hero or Mythic gear from Delves. You can get 1 piece a week of Hero gear from the Vault, but that means it would take you 14 weeks and some luck to be in full Hero gear. You also won't be able to upgrade it past lvl 4 without the crests from, you guessed it, high level Mythic + dungeons and Mythic Raiding.
That being said, I think delves strike a great balance. I don't have a problem with a merit based system. Elite players who dump 70 - 100 hours a week into the game should have the best gear. Casual players should accept that a merit based system is the only path to long term viability and success. Don't be envious, as I am sure there are other's who are envious of you. Delves are in a great place. You get excellent gear. The higher levels reward higher rewards. They take about the same time at higher tier delves as a Mythic + run, and they are fun for small groups. My only issue with delves is that they aren't fully balanced for each spec and class. Some classes, like rogues, have a much tougher time at the highest levels of delves. Same for priests. Pet classes seem to have the easiest time along with tanking classes. I would like to see a Bran option for tanking!
Your point on why people do the Mythic + and raiding is spot on. They enjoy that aspect. I do all, and the Mythic + is WAY overtuned. It's ridiculous how tough they are at higher levels. But some people LOVE it.
Delves are the piece of content that sold me on returning to WoW after dipping out after the first month of SL. So far I'm really liking them, and I don't really care about the item level of the gear they drop, at least as it relates to other end game content. By that I mean I only care about the gear Delves give me that allow me to progress towards doing the optional higher tier delves later on.
I disagree with your take that wow isn’t a place where content creators can come into and grow, one of my favorite channels the comeback kids has recently started making wow content and they are getting close to 100k views a video.
everyone has there way of playing the delves are just a new way to play i hope they carry them on in future expansions and its not just a one time thing nothing wrong with casual players without them and for people who play solo and never group up the game would be empty not everyone wants to group up! on another note this could be a testing for the game to come to consoles you just never know

I'm digging Delves, and haven't ran any dungeons. I can finally play my hunter and not have to wait 15 to 20 minutes just to play the game or heal after a tank on speed, crack or whatever they're on. Try-hards ruin the other game modes for me, it's not about fun it's about proficiency.
People do delves for easy loot. The itemization isn't great and you can't get to top ilevel (639), but the gear lets people have a shot a m+ or mythic raiding fantasy, both of which IMO are too sweaty...a challenge is fine with me, but people are so impatient and toxic, which is kinda fair because the whole game 90% of content you basically never die and now you get one shot because you weren't perfect. Either way, WOW endgame is just a repeat loop of the same grind - this is the thing that, once realized, people quit over and never come back with because of.
I’m not too sure why you keep complaining about M+ content when the video is meant to be about how good delves are lol.
I agree with you that delves are good for the longevity of the game but leave M+ alone, yea it’s overtuned in some ways but it’s the start of the expansion and some of the dungeons are just not the best this expansion but overall (as a average player). I’m honestly having a lot of fun climbing up through m+ this expansion more than ever.
Not trying to hate on you or your video, the message about delves was good but not sure why you kept putting down m+, yes it’s not catered for the casual player but they have ways to ease into m+. If they want to start climbing to harder m+ content then they need to practise and get used the mechanics, it’s very rewarding even for average players when you actually do well and progress higher.
I personally actually hate raiding, even if it is “easier”, it just doesn’t really excite me like m+ content does.
Because for a lot of people M+ is trash, both the content and "community". But mostly the community.
My situation is opposite, I don't do delves because I don't have time to solo a lot since I have friends who want to do keys and raids. Some days I do think about going antisocial with the "away" option on bnet and making a new character who only does professions, achievements, and delves. Maybe that would be more fulfilling idk. I'm torn honestly. Your channel isnt helping lmao. If only I could get paid to play wow then I could do it all.
If you’re one of the lucky few with friends who still play the game, I would personally continue going the social route with M+/raids. Plus a steadier flow of gear, and you can delve when you’re bored and just feel like it for fun. 💪
The gayest thing about delves is that the scaling doesn't work. If you have 5 580-590 ilevel spuds doing a +8 with a 1/3/1 set up, you're fine. Clears super easily. People are treating them like dungeons
