This is why Reid Duke is an amazing magic player. Ross was also quite good, but the matchup was clearly in Reid's favor. However this is such a good match to watch. Very entertaining
Sorry if it sounds as a dumby question, but at 36:20, why Ross didn't activate the "B, Tap" ability of Deathrite Shaman in response to Engineered Explosives ability?
As an elves player and a big Reid Duke fan this was both painful and amazing to watch...both played sooooo well and what i believe the best player in the end won
shouldn't Ross have killed Reid game one with that craterhoof? you sac the creature after putting your creature into play or is the oracle text different?
@@henzender9275 just saw this again, and it's funny: the b&r reason was STILL because of slowplay (just like modern). Thankfully Legacy has been Delver vs tuned to beat delver ever since, and anything resembling control is unplayable even with t3f, shark, and other dumb cards.

He just played the deathrite, it doesn't have haste so he could not use the ability.
