Net-Zero Will Define The New Labour Government | James Melville

  • Political and social commentator James Melville says Net-Zero will define the new Labour government, "but not in a good way".
Nearly 200 businesses have signed up to a union’s campaign against Labour’s policy of refusing to grant new oil and gas licences in the North Sea.
A giant version of Unite’s joint letter will be unveiled in Aberdeen on Thursday as part of their “no ban without a plan” campaign.
Labour have said they will not grant new licences in the North Sea but they would continue with any licences already in operation.
James says: "What you're looking at is based on some flimsy evidence in terms of whether this works."

It's all an environmental nightmare. What is green about any of this! And for what? The UK only produces 1% of global emissions. Mean time carbondioxide (CO2) is vital for photosynthesis, plants can't grow without it. Look up "NASA Greening" it shows from satellite pictures the earth has greener massively in the last two decades 70% due to CO2.

Future generations will likely look back in jaw-dropping amasement at how the people of the early 21st Century threw the world towards bankruptcy and poverty on the basis of some highly questionable extrapolations of some carefully chosen datasets.
‘The climate has been happily changing for 4.6 billion years without our interventions. Indeed, we've only been here for 1.8 million years. We will need to adapt to a changing climate - as indeed we have over the years.
We are still emerging from the Little Ice Age (1400 to 1850) and temperatures - if they continue on their current trajectory - will still be slightly cooler than the Medieval Period, the Roman Period and the Minoan Period in a 100 years time.
The role of man-made carbon dioxide in climate change is questionable. Indeed, there is a lot of valid research showing that CO2 increases FOLLOW increases in temperature. This is logical as warmer temperatures encourage fauna and flora to flourish.
The amount of green plant life on the planet has actually increased these past hundred years. Food production is up. Life expectancy is up. Reality, facts, reason and informed debate seem to have no part to play in this obsession with driving Britain towards Year Zero.’
CO2 is plant food - and therefore food for humanity and all animals. C02 is basis of all life on Earth. CO2 is not a pollutant. It is essential to all life on Earth.
CO2 is favorable for nature, greening our planet. Additional CO2 in the air has promoted growth in global plant biomass. It is also profitable for agriculture, increasing the yields of crops worldwide.
I stand to be corrected, but am given to understand that academic research and papers not aligned with the fanatical & doom-laden narrative, do not get published or funding.

There's an added cost that I doubt is ever included: maintenance and replacement of solar panels and wind mills. Yesterday was hot, said by someone who used to live in tropical Durban, South Africa. But I did miss ceiling fans yesterday. I'm out of the habit of finding the time to slip under a lukewarm/cold shower twice a day.

If the UK was to go completely wind based, it would take the next 20+ years to build the farms. By the time they finished, the first batch of turbines would need replacing, immediately followed by the second and then the third........

What difference will UK NetZero make to global temperature ?… (numbers from Google)
    A … UK emissions per year = 400 million tons .
B … CO2 required to increase global temperature by one degree C = 1 million million tons
Divide A by B to get the reduction in global temperature if UK achieved Net Zero.
Answer; 0.0004 degrees Centigrade per year. That’s four ten-thousandths of one degree C per year … Now you can decide if it's worth it.

The deserts are shrinking or have stopped their advance. World crop yields are up. Tree's use less water in high carbon environments.
Only TRAITORS would destroy our farming and fuel security

Net Zero is prohibitively costly, impractical and totally unnecessary.
Arrhenius who described the greenhouse effect in the late nineteenth century opined that the carbon dioxide emissions from human activity would have the beneficial effects of increased agricultural yields and postponement of the next glacial maximum. You can add reduced winter heating costs and fewer deaths from hypothermia.
This is especially so in cold areas such as the UK.
Net Zero is economically destructive delusional insanity and needs to be urgently abandoned .
The massive misappropriation of taxpayers money and resources into uneconomical and unreliable renewable energy projects needs to be stopped.
We should simply use the most economical energy, transportation and agricultural resources available.

The earth circles the sun in an elliptical path. Takes a long time but eventually we go into an ice age. In-between weather varies.
Cold weather will kill us way before heat will.
