Resting your hand on the gear stick can cause damage to it. maybe not by much at the beginning. but putting pressure on it will eventually wear down the teeth on some gears. Causing you to have trouble to shift into another gear. Or suddently get kicked out of the current gear you are in. @@secrestash9581
