Hello HAP3SPEAKZ, I can’t believe I’ve never listened to this, I think because of the title. It’s so different from what I thought it could be about. I love it. And I just wanted to tell you that I’ve watched all your Queen playlist from beginning to end (oldest to newest), and I learned so much from your observations and everything you had to say about the songs and band members, music in general also. I’ve seen many along the way, but I’ve been here about 18 months, and because you’re so entertaining, I wanted to see your “journey”. I really enjoyed it, so thank you. I did have a lot of time around the holidays, and it took about 2 weeks to watch them all. I love your enthusiasm. Kudos to your great reactions. I wonder if I left comments on such old reactions, if you would see them, so I didn’t for the most part. Queen is basically the only music I listen to now (I’m old, lol) and Freddie’s solo stuff too (❤❤❤) some of Roger’s and Brian’s. Have you reacted to Old Friends by Roger? didn’t see it, but I love that song. All Dead, All Dead…another gorgeous song. Thank you!!
Even if you hadn't displayed the name of the band..it would have been clear from the start... it's Queen! Such a young Queen song. But no mistake, Freddie's voice and all the nuances in their use of instruments. Always original and mind challenging from the very beginnings. It was so crisp clear and, as you said, innocent! I always especially enjoy your Queen reactions, and it's been for years now. But hopefully still more to come 😊
That was incredible!! Queen had evolved into exceptional excellence throughout the years! Queen a group of genius individual artists who surpassed the musical time changes and were not afraid to move on with their creative endeavors Thank you Hap, for your awesome perspective on this early Queen years masterpiece! 💜🎵 👑
I absolutely love watching you do a Queen reaction ❤ Hap, so you know, I and many others appreciate your time that you put into these reactions ❤ I did it the first time, close my eyes and listen with head phones on. This song IS underrated. Absolutely fantastic. I loved the back story. Thank you again, Hap ❤ ✌️ ☮️ 👑
I really enjoyed that and I appreciate the way you delved into the history and significance of the song. I feel like I learned something new today. The lyrics and music are a step back in time. I felt transported while listening. Very interesting. Thank you.🎶🎧
HAP, thank you for this enthusiastic reaction. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how this touched you 🥰 and I totally agree. This is certainly one of their most underrated gems. And if you leave the “religious” tinged lyrics aside, this is a real masterpiece, pure genius. As you mentioned, masterfully arranged with all the panning going on, Brian's unique guitar playing, John's subtle bass and Roger's perfectly matched drums and percussions. Last but not least, that beautiful, innocent (perfectly described by you imo), and unique but unmistakable voice of a young Freddie - the icing on the cake - masterful 💖👑🕺🏻. I'm glad that after almost 250 reactions to QUEEN, you're still so impressed. And you still haven't heard it all - The Show Must Go On 👑❤🙋🏻♀️
The lyrics harken back to a story from the Bible that is recounted three times. A man was possessed with a legion of demons. Jesus cast out the legion from the man and into a herd of 2,000 pigs. The demonized herd then ran of a cliff and drowned in the Lake of Galilee. The defiling spirits drove the pigs mad; (so "mad the swine" were that they couldn't be stopped from destroying themselves.) Jesus saved the man from his demonic possession.
Oh…I know in India, pigs are sacred and sort of thought if as god, so I wonder if Freddie’s growing up in India (went to an English boarding school there…born on and parents lived on Zanzibar until Freddie was 17) had him referring to Jesus as a Swine? To him, all religions worshipped the same God by different names and in different ways.. Anyway, that’s my belief from his words, interviews and songs. Are you active on IG and Patreon? I joined, but … not sure. I’m not a big social media person, lucky I can handle signing on here, lol. Take care!,
FANTASTIC reaction 👏❤
Young freddie 😅❤amazing ❤❤❤
The members of Queen should see your reaction to this song - they would be blown away, too. Great job.
