    Have heard a lot of similar comments about the slow reaction time. Hopefully as many people as possible give feedback to Kia so that there is a chance to get it fixed via a software update.

    Some of the most intelligent headlights that I’ve ever had the pleasure of driving with.
    I love the way they hug the curb when you have oncoming traffic. Great for detecting an unsuspected pedestrian or poorly illuminated cyclist.

      I do like the way they shift around like eyes swivelling😂

    Looked slow, and at about 6:26 you come across an oncoming car and the blue indicator lamp stayed on, but the headlamps themselves appear to dim for the right hand side of the road... Looks good. I wonder if that is indeed what happened? Nice videos, thanks!

      Cheers,Yes it did happen like that,light stays blue but still angles the lights away so it does not dazzle.

      @@evodessey Excellent! Thought so! Nice videos, thanks!

    Thanks for the great video .. I also think it is quite slow to react. My Volvo V90m takes less than 1/2 second to react. Kia should really do an update for the timing urgently as it is also a matter of safety.

    Does your EV6 have the matrix headlights AKA adaptive headlights?

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes as far as i know.

      @EV Odessey Thanks. The 2022 EV6 in the US doesn't have adaptive headlights but they just became legal here so some of us are hoping they get added for 2023.

      @@SamKhoury Well worth having of you can get them.

      @EV Odessey Yeah we have an issue here in the US where the modern headlights are so blinding because they're not adaptive. I just hope Kia doesn't wait until a mid cycle refresh to update them like most car manufacturers do since they already install them on the EV6 for Europe and the UK.

    I have a 2018/9 XC40 with Auto High beam - although its not this advanced - either on or off. I often got flashed when using this because it was slow to react - so is it an issue with the car or the technology!?

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was my 3rd attempt at making this video and on the other 2 attempts i didn’t get flashed once and it seemed to be behaving quite well but it’s not consistent enough to rely on.

  • @Andrew-ib5ik

    Do you have to engage this every time to switch on or can be set to stay on all the time?

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Switch on every time.

    Interesting, my 2017 Sportage, while not perfect, seems to perform this task better than the EV6, in not blinding oncoming traffic.
    I'm actually amazed how well it works on the Sportage, but Sportage seems to err on the side of using dims longer than necessary.

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be fair it worked much better on my previous failed 2 attempts.Just goes to show that consistency is not it’s strong point.

    Do you think it is good or bad light on it?

      It’s good light compared to other cars i’ve had.

      Think it depends where you are coming from. It is not as good as my iPaces was but a lot better than all of the cars before that.

      They seem fine to me but others who have had VW matrix headlights claim theirs are better.
