Ferrari FXX K EVO vs FXX K comparison

- This is the first batch of privately owned Ferrari FXX K EVOs hit the track! These 3 FXX K EVOs made their world debut at Ferrari's Corse Clienti event in Texas earlier this month and continued to their second event of the 2018 calendar at Road Atlanta. Seeing the aerodynamic upgrades along with cosmetic upgrades (interior) is pretty wild to say the least! If you have followed the XX Programme from Ferrari since the beginning it is just as crazy as the 599XX to the Evoluzione upgrade. The FXX K Evoluzione is massively different from the "standard" FXX K which is hard to imagine, but the huge fixed rear wing and additional aero on the front is quite noticeable. The more aggressive look continues inside with the F1 style steering wheel compared to the slightly modified FXX K's LaFerrari steering wheel.

The FXXK and EVO are always behind a fence "cage". They remind me of exotic animals the public aren't allowed to have. While other cars are pet cats these are tigers.
Makes sense, these are machines that car enthusiasts can buy but will never get to ride..

That EVO rear makes so much more sense than the K. BUT what fantastic cars they both are!
Jeff Wallen It made more sense, the little fixed wings and the active aero rear wing that adjusted itself, depending on the downforce needed, helped top speed, acceleration, braking, corner speed and weight saving at the same time, the Evo is a tradition and the owners said that a bit of downforce was needed, not power, so Ferrari XX put more downforce mainly with the sharkfin similar to the one reintroduced in F1 last year, but the solution before was very clever anyway.
@@andreamoroni97 in an aesthetic point of view the normal Fxxk is for me at least by far more beautiful especially from the rear, imo the Evo is more Agressive looking where as the standard Fxxk is more Elegant looking. although from the front I admit to really love the Looks of the Evo, totally menacing

He actually owned one of the few of these types of cars (that you own but you can't take them home with you.. ). On the top gear episode where they feature it, he's dressed up as the Stig, and when he removes his helmet the crowd discovers it was Schumy driving it.

Col Sum Haha! I highly doubt it 😂 A majority of these owners are getting the EVO package and should be done in time for the next event. Also just about everyone in this group doesn't have an ego out on track and will let someone by even if they are in a "slower" car.
So basically, soon there won't be a single FXX K left? Damn. Evo is awesome, but those unique split rear wings are gonna be missed.
Col Sum Both the standard FXXK and the FXXK EVO have more horsepower and down force than the standard LaFerrari. But, the FXXK EVO and the standard FXXK have about the same horsepower. The only difference is that the FXXK EVO has more down force that makes it faster and more stable through the corners compared to the standard FXXK.
So, for track use the FXXK EVO is faster since there are lots of corners on the track, but for drag race the standard FXXK is faster. Because for drag race, you don't need that much down force since down force makes the car faster and more stable on the corners, but makes the car slower on the straight line. Since more down force = more drag.
So, I bet the smart rich people who already bought the standard FXXK would just keep it for drag race, while buy a new FXXK EVO for track use and already owned a standard LaFerrari at home for daily use driving on the street.
Col Sum both are the same cars, but the fxxk evo has some changes and no i think the evo owners didnt make fun of the fxxk owners and there's no "rich people problems"

I've heard these cars before and the audio here does not do these cars justice. They all sound heavenly, like no racecar you've ever heard. same thing with the old F1 cars. I tell you if there's a Ferrari challenge going on near you you should go. Usually the day before the event there's free entrence so you can see all the cars as they practice. Also when I went there was no security down at the paddick so I could just walk around and see all the cars.

I like the FXX K EVO, but my favorite of the XX series was the 599XX. All incredible cars.

Its just the aero upgrade on the fxxk EVO models. No engine tuning so no exhaust note change too. Heard the interior sounfs louder U might have heard the EVO sound bit louder as the driver downshifted early. Same engine, same exhaust system on the fxxk and fxxk evo
The reason that the FXX.K Evoluzione has an actual rear wing and fin is because the standard one got a few complaints that at high speeds, would destabilize heavily. (Yes, its actually called Evoluzione, not Evo) (though its still correct to call it Evo)
I heard from a guy who drives track days that the FXXK Evo is 4 seconds faster on many tracks.

Can anyone answer me some questions? How much faster is the Fxx k Evo compared to the standard fxx k (in seconds (average)) ?
How quick is the Evo? Is it capable of having similar lap times to LMP2 prototypes?
andrelfity Well the Fxx k and Evos are customer cars that bought Laferraris and were offered to buy a track variant but are kept by Ferrai, as to fast / faster to a lmp 2 car it probably can win against a racing lmp2 car but an unrestricted lmp2 that a little in the air, as to how fast it is to the Fxxk, simply there's no answer because Ferrari hasn't released any numbers but judging from the aero and how they both share the same engine the Fxxk will be faster in a straight line since there's less drag while the Fxxk Evo will be faster on track because of the Aero and the F1 transmission

Marc Jhun Bermillo its called a laferrari. But that one has no rear wang and does not look nearly as hardcore. And if u want one of these to be street legal, the coversion may be pricey and u may sacrifice some of the kool looks.
I hope the XX Team will enter competition and giving those cars a chance to compete.
Aventanario but thats where they have to follow strict regulations and not their own anymore. That means that the unique aero packages that the xx team is know for will be assimilated to be more like other cars of the competition. Then, it be like the gt3 or dtm races where literally every car looks the same.

Allen Saunders agreed, look at the 599XX and then the change to the 599XX EVO. Nearly the same as the FXX K with the addition of a massive fixed rear wing. Ferrari knows how to make a lot of quick cash 🏁🏎💨

I think most of the tweaks were customer requests. I heard that they added the rear wing because drivers wanted more stability at high speeds down long straights

Allen Saunders As the FXX and FXX Evoluzione were the testing beds for the LaFerrari the FXX K and FXX K Evo will be the testing beds for the LaFerrari's successor expected in 2022, so the FXX K and FXX K Evo programm will probably end in three years time.

People still try to compare Ferrari with any other type of sports car. Ferrari is sports. Never was a car for utility or marketing or money or anything of that sort. It was (and still is) a Formula 1 racing team (it was Alfa Romeo's department back then). It then branched off and became Ferrari, but still it a racing team. Enzo never cared for selling the cars, he actually hated that. Only did it enough to bring enough resources to continue racing. There's really nothing comparable to the legendary level of passion and love for the prancing horse (which was the military symbol of Enzo's brother that died in the war). Surely not the same since Enzo passed, but the legacy he left behind is not even remotely comparable to any other.
