A tip I can suggest if you think you’ve ruined a painting, look back at some old art. Like, really old art. Stuff before you knew proper anatomy, or when you were just starting out. Then look back at your current painting, the one you think you’ve ruined, and imagine showing it to your younger self. Whenever I imagine this, I can think of how far I’ve come and that no matter what, I’ve at least improved. And my younger self, if they were to see it, would be proud.
This is such a well-built/well-compiled/well put together video! It's been such a long process (longer for you, of course) that it's crazy to go back to the very beginning, but this was a lovely way to relive the journey! So glad you started, and kept going on, and ultimately completed this artwork!! Thank you so much Scott!! ❤🎉🎖
Not much to say today. Just a really nice recap to enjoy with a late night snack. I'll always be grateful for your soft voice and non-intrusive audio. It makes it comfortable and relaxing - Also, I'm so hyped to see the guild come to life soon!
Beautiful work! You wanted us to think of stories for the characters. I love your goblin girl. She loves crazy clothes, she likes her green skin, is proud of how she towers over the other goblins, and she makes _no apologies._
love this long form content! really great video and painting! i love to see your entire thought process and problem solving. hope to see more of these longer videos soon!
This is so awesome. I loved watching the process! Thank you so much for sharing all the details, and for making such a beautiful work of art. I was SO glad when you said you were going to paint The Guild! Also, a centaur and dragon having little picnics together will forever be a source of joy for me now!
it’s nice seeing your art journey each time you make a piece, it just shows that it’s ok to not like how your art is turning out and trying again, changing elements until it fits what _you_ want! ( and i really like he title, happy to know 12-year-old scott is happy :] )
I'm an old lady but I'm still learning, so I consider myself an art student. I love drawing dragons and sea monsters but I feel weird about doing it. You've inspired me, though, so thank you. I'm going to draw dragons. (So cool you looked at Wyverns! I have a Wyvern tattoo - 2 arms, 2 wings.)
I honestly feel you on the erasing! I hate how I am constantly erasing and redrawing the same thing over and over, and getting nervous on how much my paper can hold. I definitely feel less alone seeing such an amazing artist as you having similar struggles, making art feels difficult even with my art style being simple. You're awesome!
A cool idea that I learned for traditional art to save my paper from all the erasing is to ink digitally and then use a light pad or a window on a bright sunny day to transfer the printed out digital sketch to fancy paper. Hope this helps! This piece came out amazing! 🩷
Thankyou for putting the shorts together for us! I was invested in the idea of dragon/centaur picnics, but kept losing focus when it came time to search for the sports on the right order. I love seeing them all together, and i adore the finished piece...
I love seeing the whole story come together after everything was said and done, i'm proud of you Scott, this is really impressive, some would say, a masterpiece.
That was so awesome! I watched the lives as you painted, but this compilation was (as you say) "so satisfying". It was a reminder to be patient with ourselves and push on. Enjoy the process and learning experience.
I stopped watching shorts as a whole a while back (they were so adicting...) so I ended up missing the full process on the painting! Im so happy you made this 'compilation' video. I think I prefer the long form content a lot more, it's nice to see you not constrained by a 1 minute time limit and getting some more feedback from you. Lovely stuff Scott❤
It was really pleasing to follow the weekly updates when you made The Alliance, and to have it all compiled here now really puts into perspective all the work and process that goes into a big piece like that!
Hi Scott! I have been loving these long-form videos! I know it would be a lot of work, but I think that it would be awesome if you did art vlogs. Keep up the great art!
@@ssavaart I personally enjoy many artists such as Camileon, and Ten Hundred who take you through the process of painting, and what it is like. Another fun video format is trying things or starting projects with different mediums, and then doing a larger project at the end (similar to Jazza). You are so talented, so I don't think that you would have to do an entire "The Alliance" painting each time, but rather show us your process from the initial idea to the very end (including your struggles and successes). I think that something kind of in between your lives, and your shorts would be really cool! I believe, that you can follow these similar formatts, while also creating your own thing. Your own style of video that is different than everyone elses. I can't wait to follow your proccess as you explore the new world of long form videos. Good Luck!
I’m so excited for the next painting!! I really Love these longer videos, and I really like this recap of the whole painting process! I can’t wait to see the guild
Thanks scott, for making me fall in love with watercolor and inspiring me to create art, now i even feel confident enough to use that art for covers on my school proyects
Watching this video reminds me of when I had to do a project of perspective art (I find perspective very difficult), and how I solved my distaste for drawing perspective, by drawing a robotic dragon. It took me so many re-tries to get it to work, but I got it to. Seeing other artists struggle to get something right many times really makse me feel better, like im not the only one who struggles with these thongs. Sadly I don't have the piece anymore, because it was on my old iPad 😭😭. Maybe I'll redraw it one day
I just came back to this after the Guild Poster was out, and I noticed (I don't know i you said it in that video or not) but the undead necromancer women with the electricity coming out of her fingers on the guild is the same reference photo as for the women and chapter 2 of this process! I'm glad you were able to draw her again and make her part of one of your best posters! i love your art Scott and you do more than you realize for people with it! Keep going and keep being the wonderful person you are!
Perfectly timed... I'm so glad I got to rewatch you feel like you ruined your piece. I just ruined 2 today....but since finding your channel via the TH-cam gods that be... I've learned that if I put them in the corner of shame and look again a lot later, it doesn't seem so hopeless. Thank you for sharing the hard parts of being an artist... because it really does help. Love to the Hobbit Hole.🖤
Im so excited to see the guild! That was the one i originally wanted to see (it just sooo dnd party-like to me!)! I loved loved watching this as a longform video.
I just want to thank you scott for the great art works you post i have been going through your posts and trying my art that way and its coming out betetr thanks to you ❤

Love the work!❤ i am an aspiring artist and I stumbled upon your work along the way and i love your work too!❤❤❤ thanks for being an inspiration through what might be my future career!☺ sending love❤❤
Could you draw the olympic gods next? Or the heros of the trojan war or the odyssee? I'm a fan of greek mythology and I wish there would be more cool and epic art of them in new styles, not just old statues... but I can never realy find annything I like, exept fot the art of wolfy the witch and viria. I tryed drawing a family tree of the 12 olympians once, but I would realy love to see it in your style... 🥺🙏
Just received my Dragon/Centaur poster yesterday in the mail!! I already have it framed, about to hung up on my wall!! Thanks again for such an awesome piece. 😎🙌🏻
about the dragon thing: a dragon is a dragon. doesnt matter if it has two wings, no wings, three wings, five wings, it’s still a dragon. if dragons were real, we would be able to do something like taxonomy, but since theyre fictional creatures, call them what you want. most think a dragon like mushu is an eastern dragon and dragons with no wings are lindwyrms, but theyre still just…dragons! it’s your dragon, call it a wyvern or dragon if you want ❤
I can't wait to see the guild! I want to see a hobbit, painting a hobbit 😁 (Oh and is there any chance that we see a gaming stream of you any time? Maybe when tiny glade is released, or any game you already play?)

In your drawing it definitely would be considered a Dragon. As it walks quadrupedally and breathes fire. A wyvern on the other hand would walk bipedally, not be able to breathe fire, and have a poison stinger on the tail.

Hi
a Wywehrn is one types of Dragon, but they usually can't breath fire.
there are more types of dragon like the Asian Dragon ore Drake...
Didn’t he already post shorts on this? Also I think it is really cool that he is showing us how he does his art in real time
I struggled with the dragon debate too. My conclusion is that all wyverns are a type os dragons, but not all dragons are wyverns!
I have downloaded one of your coloring pages! I love your artwork and also line art you have done with the Dragon and Centaur! This one I really wanted to do.
