as a quick fix hold down the volume down button and the home button same time. with them both held down. plug b in a charger. a screen will come up. let go of the buttons and then press volume down. your phone will turn on. hope this helps someone!!sure made my day!

How do you diagnose the phone to begin with? I'm pretty sure this is the issue with my note but how can I be certain?
Usually it’s just the button becomes finicky and sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. Usually it gets worse over time.

I water damaged the phone and it does not turn on power button does not work so I'll see if there is some dirt or something on the board that prevents power button from working?
Is there any chance the power button not turning on has anything to do with the motherboard, or is it definitely just the button? My original Note 4 would turn on even though the screen was blacked out. Now that I put the motherboard in the Note 4 Digitizer and Frame I purchased online , it won't power on but will charge. I put the motherboard back in my original phone, and it doesn't power on either now. I don't know if the pirwer button just happened to go out on my original phone, or if I've done something to the motherboard or software somehow.

I went thru this video and changed out my power button but it is still not working. I guess it is possible I got a bad power button new from a supplier but it is unlikely. I can turn the phone on with the vol down / home button / charge cable trick and the phone works fine but still no power button. I cleaned the contacts and checked alignment 3 times. Anything else that can cause a bad power button?
Actually I just tested and the vibrator is not working either. So I guess I need to just order a new button and vibrator and try again...

Smart Easy Repair I buzzed my old power button with a dvm today and it was OK so some other problem going on. Anyone else ran into another problem with the button than just bad hardware at the flex cable level?

Can i replace motherboard SM-N9005 LTE with SM-N900
