Agree...I'm also big fan of Hinotori Nippon...they are much shorter than the Chinese team, but they are very competitive.

suhaizad saifuddin san zhu ting is a long time fan of kim yeon koung since she was young but even after surpassing her zhu ting is still very respectful towards kyk and still calls kyk her idol. She’s definitely humble.

So true. If you watch the VNL 2018, WCH 2018, VNL 2019, Tokyo OQT 2019, WC 2019, you will notice the Chinese team's improvement! The most notable team's improvement happened on Zhang, Yuan and Li, making the team even sharper and lessening Zhu's work loads... more balanced burden sharing among the line-up starters.
My heart goes out to Zheng CL. Here, she was the winning captain but the next year, she was dropped for the Rio Olympics Games 2016. Replacing her was Gong XY. Don't get me wrong, Gong is a very good player. And China won the Gold medal at the games. Whatever the reasons, Zheng is still an asset to the Chinese team.....
I love Zeng CL too. She played very well and is sweet! 😍
Zeng was affected by injuries and was not in her top form before the 2016 Olympics. Ironically, she returned to her top form and played extrmely well in the Grand Champions Cup in 2017.
Btw, Jenny LangPin made really good decision to bring almost neccessary players at Rio 2016, especcially Liu Xiaotong who played brilliantly in Qarterfinal

No 8 China always had a smile on her face. I miss Riho Ohtake. Araki & Arisa Sato curiously missing from this squad. Zayasu did very well throughout the entire match. I don't know who the other libero was.
No. 8 China Zeng chunlei was appointed Captain at last moment before the World Cup because the real captain Hui Roqi had to undertake a heart surgery.

I miss this Japan team. The current roster of Japan is lacking in attack department.
Agree. They don't have power hitter like Nagaoka or Sakoda. Ishii hard carry most of the attacks. I greatly miss Kimura. Also i much prefer Tashiro or Tominaga over Sato.

IMO the Japanese team deserves special admiration. Not only are the Chinese much taller, but the latter also have a coach whom I would call legendary.
Of course, overall, the Chinese are a better team having experienced players. Yet, I'm surprised by the fantastic fight put up by the younger & less tall Japanese girls .

Do you notice, everytime during time out, Miyashita, the Japanese setter No 19 will not join the players to listen to instructions from the head coach. She will go to her own coach and will join the other players later.
She's got her own "set" of instructions 😛 🤚

I think that coach specifically appointed to take care of "setting" things while head coach Manabe deal with the team in general. You can see the other setter "Koto H." Are there too.
