We need a Part 2 ASAP. I always see comments saying these shorts can be full length movies but this 1 for sure can be. I would have watched this movie for another hour easy.

It’s a fantastic POC. I would love to see something like this for a feature-length film! It had a really engaging atmosphere, I really want to know more about the lead, and what happened to her sister.
I think you've got something cool here. I honestly find most of the Alter shorts to be at least somewhat disappointing, but this is a great tease for what I think would be a good movie. You introduced mysteries, did some good character work, and make it compelling and very interesting. I'd like to call out the sound design as well. It was subtle, but noticeable. Good work!
Making the Salton Sea a character was genius. It screams horror, helpless, hopeless. And other H words, probably. Really well done. I hope this gets made and that you get all the acclaim this concept deserves! PS: I really hope you make this movie, because I *need* to know more about the Creepy!

Fun fact, when shooting the b-roll there it was 118 degrees and we had to use a drone to scout the area first as the air was virtually unbreathable due to the rotting fish and methane deposits. Beautiful city.
Okay. That was terrifying. The demon/devil creatures really get to me! The Salton Sea desert setting is perfect. I can’t wait for this full feature film! 👹👀

Fantastic Cinematography and camera angles. The Mom character was a very convincing actress. Great story too. Loved everything about it but BIG shouts to the DP cuz the camera angles, focus pulls and everything this was level 10.

I very rarely comment on movies, etc, I watch here on YT: however, will definitely make an exception for this POC as it was, IMHO, one of the two best I've seen over approximately the past eight years! Your character development was simply outstanding as was the cinematography. Perhaps even best of all (besides your writing), was your using the Salton Sea as the backdrop; a stroke of pure genius in and of itself! I've been there a couple of times and you couldn't have picked a better place for the vibes your POC evokes. Perhaps I'm going out on a limb here; however, knowing something of the history of the surrounding area, I'm gonna go ahead and guess this may well have roots within the Native American history of the area. I believe at one time, the area was home to both the Mojave and Cahuilla people. Best wishes for your continued success with this project!

I honestly don't understand that ending. It's like the movie was separate into two parts - first part is the talk with a mother of a lost kid, and second part about a desert and a crow in a car. The moment when I felt the movie was actually starting - it ended. So I literally have no idea what I saw. If someone asked me to tell them about this short film, what I could say is: "They start with one story, cut it, start with another one, the end." 🤷♀
I loved this! I'm going to take that we need the feature film to know what's going on or what happened, cuz this is just a sliver of it, right?? If so, I want to see more! :)

I had to make myself familiar with a proof of concept film. So I did learn something today. There is definitely a viable idea here. Out character had a past which was teased and a huge mystery was presented. The bone sculpture from dream to reality was cool. It piqued my curiosity and interest and I do wish everyone the best in seeing this become bigger. The atmosphere and location worked insoarking the I want more vibe. Here is to future success. Peace.

I felt like i was watching a an award winning new streaming series. This was good,had a interesting story-line,had me interested and hooked,and than it just ends. I want more.i need to know what else happens,how it ends,the lore behind the thing taking kids. There could be so much more to this. I mean,im thinking all sorts of ideas that could easily turn this into a mini series. So this was like a trailer for a complete awesome series to be had.... props to Isaac R. for tantalizing my visual tastebuds.

Eh, What?? Finished already?? This would be a great full movie. The script is genius and I am very interested to see more. I want the kid to be found. What is the creature exactly? What is it after? Why? So, dear Mr Ruth. At least a part 2 would be so nice to watch. I just started to watch and feel already so connected with both the characters (the mom as well as the detective-lady).
Aw man so many questions...because I was so engaged. First question is she wakes up and says "Amelia" and later we find out her sister went missing so by inference that would be Amelia but the lady she goes to see daughter went missing and that was Emily....so is this thing coming to collect names of children with versions of Emily/Amelia names? I want to know the name of the other 6 children. Also why did he not tell her? Also is this a soul collector cuz the heart of that crow is missing and it's clearly in pain when it starts cawing...like it's trapped and asking for release. I need more okay. I need more. This was so well done. I have more comments coming but later now as I have to go out the door.

I just want to make sure you have done options before and that you know how it works? I honestly can't remember why the guy said not to do options other than it can sit for a long time. Please tell me you know for sure the feature is coming.
@@moniquevandeplas5210 Options are absolutely hit-or-miss, but if you're at an early stage in your career (like I was at the time) and don't have the connections or funding to produce it yourself (like I did at the time) then agreeing to an option can be a great first step. Even though the production didn't pan out, having an optioned script usually gets my foot in the door when meeting with potential representation or writing jobs

The dreary, desolate desert setting immediately evoked a southwest skinwalker-chupacabra-Area 51 vibe, sucked me in immediately.
I watched this one with my AirPods. Holy balls I jumped when the music kicked in as she had approached her car only to see the dead bird.

I read up on the Salton Sea and how its practically a high toxicity zone. My heart goes out to the farmworkers whom reside there.
I hope the creators of said film can make a movie to raise awareness to the cause and create a movement/fund to help all those helpless individuals.

Sometimes I wish these short horror films would be full length movie.
They usually are but can’t get the funding or they’re try to get funding to finish it or find a distributor to release it.
If I get hit by a bus before this full movie comes out, my spirit will be unwilling to go into the light.

Eh, What?? Finished already?? This would be a great full movie. The script is genius and I am very interested to see more. I want the kid to be found. What is the creature exactly? What is it after? Why? So, dear Mr Ruth. At least a part 2 would be so nice to watch. I just started to watch and feel already so connected with both the characters (the mom as well as the detective-lady).
This was so good...definitely needs to be a film.
Aw man so many questions...because I was so engaged. First question is she wakes up and says "Amelia" and later we find out her sister went missing so by inference that would be Amelia but the lady she goes to see daughter went missing and that was Emily....so is this thing coming to collect names of children with versions of Emily/Amelia names? I want to know the name of the other 6 children. Also why did he not tell her? Also is this a soul collector cuz the heart of that crow is missing and it's clearly in pain when it starts cawing...like it's trapped and asking for release. I need more okay. I need more. This was so well done. I have more comments coming but later now as I have to go out the door.
Thanks for watching! Without getting into too much spoiler territory I can tell you that you're kinda on the right track about the names of the missing kids. After all, this is horror noir, everything is always connected!

@@moniquevandeplas5210 that’s the plan! The feature script was optioned by a company a few years ago but pre-production stopped during the pandemic, so now that we have the rights again we’re looking to produce it ourselves
@@IsaacRuth aw man I read about options and read not to do options but that sometimes it works out. I don't want to be a naysayer. I just want to make sure you have done options before and that you know how it works? I honestly can't remember why the guy said not to do options other than it can sit for a long time. Please tell me you know for sure the feature is coming.
@@moniquevandeplas5210 Options are absolutely hit-or-miss, but if you're at an early stage in your career (like I was at the time) and don't have the connections or funding to produce it yourself (like I did at the time) then agreeing to an option can be a great first step. Even though the production didn't pan out, having an optioned script usually gets my foot in the door when meeting with potential representation or writing jobs
