I worked at a large format print shop for years. The stripe itself is not misprinted is the only issue is that the sides of the transfer tape are not equal to the print itself. When installing, you always measure to the graphic itself. The outer transfer tape is irrelevant in that application. That being said, I could be missing something and there may be more of the graphic that I can't see or something but I'm fairly confident it's a non issue.
definitely agree that the 512 is more interesting. The only reason a Stradale is cool is due to rarity, so tearing one up to make a mock-Stradale-Convertible just isn't that cool.
It’s all interesting. Thanks Scott for the great projects. Still got to replace clutch on the 430 and your video was great for reference. But ya, can’t wait to see more 512.
I don't think anyone seems to be seeing this from his perspective: The BB is his car. It's safe, it's in his garage, and it's going nowhere. This project is for someone else. It's their car, their ideas, their money. If you have a TH-cam channel based solely around Ferrari's, you only have yourself to rely on, and you're working on a relatively tight budget to produce a steady stream of content, and then someone comes along and offers to pay you to work on their Ferrari - believe me - you would be mad not to drop whatever you're currently working on and throw yourself at that opportunity. It's all free content at the end of the day. He doesn't owe any of us anything. Just sit back, watch, learn, and enjoy.
@@PedalExperiments Spot on. I'm actually quite liking this build. Bit a a break from the BB. I'm sure as with all builds. There's some waiting for parts, like sandblasting, chrome, paint, etc all takes time. It's about the details...
Hey there Scott. What happened to your white Ferrari build? We are burning to see the progress on it but it's been quite some time you made any content on it
Unreal. This guy stands as cool as a cucumber, cutting and filing holes in a piece of carbon fibre Ferrari centre console that is worth countless thousands of pounds, whilst I’m shaking like a leaf just watching! Incredible work. Interesting, educational and awe inspiring. I am very much looking forward to the next episode in this fascinating series 👍🏼
What happened to the 512 BBi ? Scott was an interesting build as with everything you do ( you go the extra mile and do the impossible ) you are the king of Ferrari .. subscribed ages ago when Rob mentioned you
The outside of the decal doesn’t matter it’s the strip pretty obvious for Measurements use stripes themselves also might be a little easier to use a green laser level lol 😂 usually a pretty crafty guy you sure dropped the ball on this one brother
Another great video.. its amazing the length youre going to for the sake of accuracy. Its going to be amazing when its done and i cant wait to see what you do with the coupe
Thing is. The whole point of this build is to look as factory as possible. So to show this Stradale Spyder. To a Ferrari aficionado to see if they can tell if it's factory or a copy. Also don't forget the owner is probably paying big bucks for this conversion so no room for sloppyness. Scotts doing great..
Honestly, I do hate those stripes ! I know, they're specific to that model, but nevertheless, as soon I saw their introduction by Ferrari, I went 😳 ! Anyway, it's your car, on your vlog, right ? I am in awe with this project. You've got balls, mate, messing with Enzo's best ! Regarding other comments here on the BB12 project, we'll take it on YOUR time schedule, whenever when. Cheers from Québec, Canada.
Sorry if I missed it - why swap the engines over? Unless I am mistaken the only difference between a 360 Modena and a Challenge Stradale was the exhaust, in which case would it not have been easier just to swap the exhaust over from the silver car? Or are there more differences between the engines I'm unaware of such as lighter valves, pistons etc?
I know this build is controversial but still epic non the less. Yes, a CS is being sacrificed in the process but if this is done tastefully and close to how ferrari would have, then why not. A spyder CS still works in the lineage that follows the 360
Perhaps you should mount the switches upside compared to how you are testing them there? It may be difficult to see what each one is while you are sat in the car.
Seems odd to need to purchase a 2nd stripe, the distance between the stripe and the edge of the paper really doesn't matter, all you do is measure the distance from the centre point of the middle stripe to the outer edge of the side you are going to use to put your guide tape on for installation alignment and you know the stripe itself will be central. Odd that a bodyshop missed that simple trick.
The only important thing about your strip is the distance between the two strip the rest doesn't stay on the car so centre the middle of the strip with the centre of the car. Bingo
Yes, it is. It would have also taken care of all the suspension bits and subframe mounts as well. That is the whole purpose of a subframe. However, if you do not have a good method of lifting the body off, it would be almost impossible.
He has said MULTIPLE times its in the back burner. People are so mindless to have the audacity to pester him about it while hes in the middle of another project, irregardless of which project they prefer. Hes only one man, and anyone bothering him has never worked on any project period, let alone something this comprehensive. Great job scott, wasnt a big fan of the CS to begin with but it has been a very enjoyable watch.
Some of us have been waiting 8years to see a Toyota Celica engine transplanted into a mini. A few months of no 512 update is barely a blink of a eye in comparison.
I know nice isn't it🙂 I love watching people spend millions building there dream home on *Grand Designs* on tv for the same reason. Thou Scott is doing great learned alot about Ferraris watching Rattorosa...
Why are you always putting things on the cars? Do you not care about the paint. I freak out when someone puts a purse or box on my car but you seem to not care. I just don’t get it. 🤷🏻♂️

Fantastic tip on getting the engine out in one big lump. Really getting in to this build now!
You've got big ol' balls taking on a project like this! Enjoying the series and looking fwd to more 512BBi progress. No hurry.
I can't wait to see it complete, and the BB512 too! keep going!
Your the man Scott and many thanks to all your

Hello scott. Are you also still working on the 512BB ???
I worked at a large format print shop for years. The stripe itself is not misprinted is the only issue is that the sides of the transfer tape are not equal to the print itself. That being said, I could be missing something and there may be more of the graphic that I can't see or something but I'm fairly confident it's a non issue.
I think you misinterpreted the white parts as transfer tape, while it is, infact, part of the graphic itself. (Or maybe I'm missing something?)
my thoughts exactly, there will be transfer tape, they wont have printed that graphic direct to the outer edge of that paper surely
Awesome job Scott! This is a fun build to follow and I admire your tenacity to get it done right!
Massive respect trying to built that rare supercar..your ferrari knowledge is strong..
Ratarossa: "I like a Challenge!"
The most apt comment ever! 🤣🤣🤣
sooooooo cool, relaxing and fun to watch

Love the retrofit on the carbon cracking job 100% looks oem 💪🏻

Heart in mouth just watching you cut that carbon, how you kept your hand steady I do not know.
that reordered stripe from the video was deff 77mm on one side and 80 on the other
He was holding the camera at an angle
Great project, love following this. Well done for all your hard work and problem solving so far. Can’t wait to see the finished result. 👏🏻😁
the rat man clearly the best mechanic on you tube , absolutely stupendous magnificent rat man o mania ,, go rat man.

Great video , pretty impressive on the engine removel 👍
Great job . I truly don't know why u don't have a lot of Views on your videos. and a lot of subscribers.
It will look great when finished 💪
Much respect for restoring the 512BB. Not so much respect for tearing apart a nice Stradale to make a poseur drophead.
I would deffo have put the windows on either side, and the two new buttons in the middle, will make more sense and be symmetrical
Yeah I'd probably do that for OCD reasons. Only it would be less of a stretch if both window buttons were closer to the driver...
That's insane!
Wow, that's bonkers! Something MUST have gone wrong somewhere, right?
Simply Incredible 🤯
Well looks like it can be done..great job Scott :)
Very nice job Scott!!
Great video as always Scott but please get back on the BB 🙌🏼
I’ll come back to this channel when this project is over.
Thank you for sharing, very interesting. Cheers 🍻
Lol I’ve worked out when you gear up for a sales pitch and skip it now. Great video other than the advert crap.
You want to seal the cuts you made with some resin so the carbon weave don't delamitate after a while...👍
I don't think I realized how big a job this was when he started.

Cool stuff 😎
you could of placed a metal ruler and cut along so you didn't risk overcutting. Great job a lot of patience!
Speechless. How can you be bothered. Unless getting a big payout
Nope!! It take a ton of patience with equal part initiative…… and a whole lotta experience. LoL. Congratulations

Fab vlogg 🤩✌
outstanding
I’m finding your videos well interesting mate , I’m wondering how the bb is going though I must admit lol
Polish and PPF the centre console, infact I would do all the carbon bits.
Where's the BBI. Please keep us updated.😀
Perhaps you should mount the switches upside compared to how you are testing them there? It may be difficult to see what each one is while you are sat in the car.
You are good !

The whole strip including the white part is the "stripe".
Hes not that dumb. The actual white part of the stripe was undersized on one side.
Fair enough, ive rarely seen a vinyl where the sticker itself has no transfer paper overhang, i stand corrected.
The only important thing about your strip is the distance between the two strip the rest doesn't stay on the car so centre the middle of the strip with the centre of the car. Bingo
I am highly confident that my mrs would kill me if I did this in my kitchen! Fair play Mrs Ratarossa 😉
God, I hate projects like cutting out those switch holes.
Love it !
Is the footwell the normal place for the battery 🙈
It sure is
Are you going to be doing the belts whilst the engines are out of the cars?
I hope you wore a mask when cutting & filing that carbon fibre? Nasty, dangerous particles!!
sure did
The buttons at 4:20 are upside down. It's impossible to see the labels when putting them in upside down.
€500 for a sticker, really? I'm in the wrong game!
Scott said it was really thin. So once the car is lacquered one can't feel the stripes...?
Details...
Engine out swap? Is there a way to swap them leaving them in?
Yes! Leave the engines where they are and move the bodies over...
Thou need more room for that....
512bb withdrawals are ruff man
Hang in there bud.
We're all missing the BB build.
Scott is getting paid to do this project.
And that BB build ain't cheap...
Your absolutely right of course .
The correct one looked more like 78 and 80.
Catching up on the channel, and I dont know how I feel about this build.
Maybe I need a new pair of glasses, but as to the new stripe it sure looked to me like 76-77 mils on the right side. What am I missing here?
bad angle of me filming, trust me i checked it 10 times
@@Ratarossa prepare to be endlessly pestered about that.
Maybe I'm wrong, I thought these came out the bottom on a sub-frame.
Yes, it is. It would have also taken care of all the suspension bits and subframe mounts as well. That is the whole purpose of a subframe. However, if you do not have a good method of lifting the body off, it would be almost impossible.
except when the handbrake is down you cant access the switches
Did I hear a 10mm dropping while taking the rear bonnet off ?
Surely you could have just cut the wider side of the stripe down to match the narrow side, then nobody would ever know?
Is this an ’engine-out-job’ by any chance?
Ratarossa I’ll be honest you should listen to your fans everyone is asking about the 512BBi and your not saying anything please post an update video
It’s coming Joe. A couple more jobs to do on this CS build and then I’ll be working on the BBi again
There’s only one Scott and quite frankly watching anything he does is entertaining 🥳🤘🐎

I know this build is very complicated but I’d rather be watching content about the Ferrari Boxer
The mask came in useful for cutting the carbon fiber
Clean your driveway for those beauties.
I would have got those vinyl stickers reproduced by a third party just in case
