- Seasons greetings to one and all. Trying to finish this video of a heuer Carrera with a very rare caliber 15 movement, but sadly I’m stuck for some unobtainable parts. So in the meantime here is a long version of the case lapping.
Also if you have been following me for a while, I hope I have earned some grace with you all to be able to use my platform to share my feelings on something that is important to me. Or else what is the point of having a voice and staying silent. I mention this as some people have told me to stick to watchmaking and stay out of politics. Watchmaking won’t follow me to my grave. Nice to see this part of your work. I love vídeos that have you restoring cases and using the lapping machine. Very delicate work with a plus in difficulty: there's no "undo" if you take out too much material lapping, sanding or polishing.

Your omission of the thousands of innocents killed on Oct 7 was therefore quite a shock to me. I mourn the deaths of so many innocents on both sides.............
Peace and love to you and yours too mate. I said I wanted peace and harmony for EVERYONE in the holy land. And I didn’t mention the 20000+ innocents killed on the other side either mate.
It’s a terrible situation all around. Let us not forget that this started as a deliberate surprise attack on Israel, and they have every right to defend themselves. Women and children were kidnapped. Babies were slaughtered - intentionally. Israel’s retaliation, whether you think it’s justified or not, has not involved kidnapping and intentional killing of children. It’s a horrible situation as we know, but Israel was not the ones posting videos on social media of torturing and killing children. There are 2 sides to every conflict. Your into was obviously just about one side, and one could argue that it takes truly evil individuals to intentionally kill women and children. Not the accidental, though still terrible, killing of them after they’ve been repeatedly warned to leave. Yes there’s a difference.

I had a Heuer (not TAG) military chrono when I was in the Marine Corps in the '80's. I loved that watch. It was built like a tank. The OD green powder coat finish is the only thing that ever showed the abuse the watch took. Sadly, it was stolen from a hotel room. Keep up the beautiful work, Joe.

In April of 1983 when I was a young codriver, the same exact watch I have bought second hand with the first real money I’ve made from racing, got stolen from my hotel room. Sad sad day indeed, and our car broke down within sight of the finish line whilst we were finishing third, ended up thirteenth instead.
If all the world could fall silent, we could hear what peace sounds like, and want more.

😮❤sunburst effect is not easy if some key tools are missing. Need a whole setup. Still designing my my combo using a mini milling machine and an angle table so I can get the correct holding position.

I have one with a Cal 11 and would never polish it. The watch has experienced so much and was on the wirst of my grandad and now me for so manny moments and special occasions. Idd never want it to forget this and somehow polishing makes me feel like thats sort of buffing out all the memories stored in that watch
I Understand. If the case was in original condition, then in most cases I too would leave it alone. But this one was already badly attempted by someone else so it made for a good tutorial video. That’s the purpose of the channel

Always mixed feelings when you come back after a long delay. It is disconcerting to feel that your absences are due to life events. I hope your return indicates a more settled patch of life.
Meantime, it is not politics to lament gratuitous killing on such a scale. It is right and proper. Even if it enphasises our helplessness in doing anything about it in the face of the powers that be.
