Glad to see Houston working on his former boy strong! Sounds like that cabin on the creek would make a great off grid BnB, or have people put their names in a hat and once or twice a year let them stay in it! And you're right about living in the country, there's nothing better! Y'all stay safe

Daniel, its so nice to see your face and hear the emotion, the love you have for your land and the memories from past and the new ones you have made and making still... with your family and especially Huston, you have a wonderful bond with him its shows in every video from when he was little tacker, he loves being with you and being the little "man " learning and working with his DAD and his best mate. Such a pleasure watching him grow up and the wisdom you pass on to all via your videos. Big love from the land of OZ (down under)

As a young child we would go camping at a nearby lake .. we always left our campsite better than we find it! Instilling that in your children is the sign of a good steward of the land! Houston will probably be the one to stay and bring the land forward! Good job Daniel! Good job!

Hi Daniel You brought back a lot of good memories for me today. We lived on a mountain with quite a few acres. I would go to the top of the hill behind our house. I would look at all the beauty God had created. The sunrises and beautiful sunsets! I've had a great life. God bless you and your family ❤🙏

Ĺove your family videos. It reminds me when I was a little girl, our parents would take our family to Georgia to visit my grandparents on their farm. While there for two weeks, I would always watch my granddaddy, cousins and a few of my brothers feed, brush and take care the animals. Arms Family reminds me of those memories. Houston learning from the best, his dad. ❤

Daniel, you are such a wonderful man of God. The pride you take in everything you do is admirable. And if you feel it’s appropriate please tell Houston I’ve always thought he’s an outstanding kid but the thought that he came up with getting together with you and working on the farm is awesome. Maybe he understands that he’s about a year away from where you were when you lost your dad and how important it is to cherish loved ones around us instead of being what Melissa and Jeremy Souza call a “sloth child” who just stares at electronic screens all day long.
On another note I just wanted to say I’m so happy you guys got that storm shelter in. Happy holidays, and thank you for sharing your lives with us 🙏🏼💞✌🏻.

The Boss of the Swamp is my cousin, the New Hampshire land he lives on now was my families from the early fifties for 18 years. Those 18 years are the high point of my 78 years. I learned so much at that camp. I bought 40 acres here in Virginia so that I could raise my sons in the same manner. You and I are spot on on the best way to raise children.

Daniel, I grew up in the country. From the time I could walk I was glued to my dad. He took me hunting and fishing with him every time he went. He taught me about the land, he taught me about animals, he taught me how to hunt and fish and shoot. It was the most wonderful childhood. When I see you with Houston it so reminds me of my life growing up. You are so right when you said it gets in your heart and soul. You are giving your kids something that will be with them forever. I admire you and what you are doing so much.
I am 75 years old and the memories I have growing up and the things I experienced live in my heart forever.

This is far and away my favorite TH-cam channel. I watch a dozen or so channels regularly, but I never miss an Arms Family Homestead post. We have some things in common. My father grew up in the same are where you live. He graduated from Madill high school in 1936. He lost his father when he was 16. I lost him in 2009 to cancer. My great aunt lived just north of Ada on 189 acres and was teaching school in Indian territory in 1903. She and her husband farmed that acreage for over 60 years and she was on the property until her passing in 1978. You and my father have about the same demeanor and dad was also 6'-3". He loved to work and he loved to garden, but we lived in Tulsa on a city lot, so farming was not a part of my heritage. Keep the videos coming. It is often the best part of my day.

Nice mixture of hard woods you chopped for firewood.
I grew up on a small farm moved to the city for 12 1/2 yrs and hated every moment of it. Moved to the out skirts of town then on down to N.C. where i purchased a piece of land and had a modular home put on it. Was on a dead end at the end and out in the middle of no where. Loved every second of living in the country. Born and raised and will die in the country. Gardening and long walks in the woods with my camera and dog was my piece of mind. As well as sitting on a chair in the yard just watching and listening to the birds. Life can be no better than country living

What you are doing with your kids is GREAT! Your son is following in your footsteps, really liked it when you jumped on the soap box talking about making things better. I'm a retired deputy sheriff, and have a 3 year old grandson that I'm wanting to help his parents raise him right, and pass on the hunting & fishing tradition. My son is giving him a head start with fishing. When he gets old enough he'll be in a deer stand with me & his dad.

We only had 7 acres, bordered by one farm of 60 acres, the other side was 30 acres. Open fields all over where we lived, so the country was heaven. Sitting on our back porch during a storm. We built our back porch deep, so we could sit out there and watch the lightning skitter across the sky. Our dogs, Freeway and Gizzy were Germ. Shorthairs, great dogs. It was heaven. WISH I still had a small plot of my own.

A great thing to build those young muscles and get something accomplished at the same time. Correct me if I am wrong but any day spent doing things with dad, even work is a good day for a young man.

Really enjoyed this video. I agree so much that as parents we have to show our kids how to work and introduce them to a great part of life. Unfortunately the world we live in today does not want the same. We are currently showing our grandkids this part of life and we're not being disappointed. Love your channel. God bless you and your family.

You and DeeJay are incredible parents. I used to do things with my dad all the time until he died of a heart attack when I was 13. Your cshow brings back so many great memories. You all are what a family should be
