Owning an electric car is beneficial for those who do not drive much, who are parked for days on end, who are no longer active, or for the elderly who use it occasionally.
It's said they're going to use ICE engines for this platform next year or something like that, I've driven this 500e plenty and think it's a good quirky car, but in EV form it's a little expensive for what you get size and range-wise. An ICE engine in this new design would be great here in Europe.
