Has 5.0 V8 and 4Speed Automatic only thing I did was Rebuilt the Engine put a Whipple Super Charger Dual Exhaust , LED Headlights it also a 4x4 and put a Bedliner and Cover back in Early 2000s and visor and fog lights which also LED'S it only a Show Truck in the Summer Season
Beautiful truck! However, 1979 is not the first year after the HiBoy. 1978 F-250 are all non HiBoy also. 1979 is the first year for the F-350 4x4 though. That makes it very rare, especially being a Lariat.
My uncle bought a new F 250 in 1977 and it had the married transfer case. The early 1977s had the divorced transfer case. His was considered a 1977 and a half.
1979 was the last year for those 6th gen Ford F-series pickups & 2nd gen Broncos. 1973 was the first year for the pickups & 1978 for the Broncos. 1978 was the first year for the square headlights & last year for the round headlights. The square headlights came standard on the Ranger models & in 1979, the round headlights were dropped.
I see the oil gauge doesn’t work. Super nice truck tho! Very rare indeed. I have a 79 F350 4x4 SCLB also….Ranger option. I’ve read there were only 10,000 units of this variations built in 79. Mine isn’t nearly as nice but very solid for sitting in a pole barn since 1991 when the engine blew. It now has a 460 .. Mine also has a tilt column but no a/c ….4.10 gears and LSD rear….it’s now road worthy, but still work in progress. I’ve had offers of $10,000 but don’t want to sell just yet…..I’m betting the price tag on the truck in the video is $35k?
Why did Ford close its doors in Brazil? Perhaps it is because it never made available to the Brazilian market, what it reserved for the American public. It is no use crying and saying that profits were low here, if you did not make the necessary investments to make that goal feasible.
Tilt steer is fairly rare, but not impossible to find, especially with an automatic. What is extremely hard to find is a factory tilt column for a manual transmission. They made them. I've see three in my life, and I own two of them.
