हमेशा की तरह एक और शानदार episode........ असरदार narration....... ढेर सारे रोचक तथ्य.....👌👌👌👌 हालांकि हेमा जी shooting के दौरान इस फ़िल्म से ज्यादा तवज्जो 'रजिया-सुल्तान' को दिया करतीं थीं ! इस बात से मनोज जी बेहद hurt हुए ! शायद हेमा जी को लगता था कि 'रजिया-सुल्तान' कहीं ज्यादा बड़ी hit साबित होगी, मगर हुआ इसके ठीक विपरीत !धर्मेंद्र और हेमा जी की शादी भी इसी फिल्म की shooting के दिनों में हुई थी ! एक scene shoot करते हुए मनोज कुमार जी तब खूब हंसे थे, जब हेमा जी ने सफेद साड़ी पहन कर shoot करने से इन्कार कर दिया था, क्योंकि उसी दिन धर्मेंद्र जी से उनकी शादी हुई थी ! 'क्रांति' की आलोचना करने वालों को कुछ हफ्तों बाद दर्शकों का जवाब मिल गया होगा....जब फ़िल्म blockbuster रही ! दर्शकों में से शायद ही कोई ऐसा रहा हो, जिसे 'क्रांति' न पसंद आई हो ! हां, ये बात सच है कि मनोज कुमार अपने किरदार के मुकाबले काफी matured लगे ! लेकिन फ़िल्म का canvas इतना बड़ा था कि इन बातों से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा ! LP के music ने भी काफी support किया ! अगर इस फ़िल्म के गानों की recording के दौरान मुकेश जी जीवित होते, तो, "हमको तुमसे हो गया है प्यार, क्या करें....." के बाद "चना ज़ोर गरम.....", एक और ऐसा गाना होता, जिसमें 'किशोर', 'रफी', 'मुकेश' और 'लता'', चारों की आवाज़ होती ! इसके अलावा, 'ज़िन्दगी की न टूटे....' संगीतकार लक्ष्मीकांत जी का alltime favorite गाना था, जिसे वो अपने हर interview में जरुर सुनाया करते थे ! और, 'दुर्गा है मेरी माँ....' तो जब भी फ़िल्म में आता तो उत्साह वश रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते थे ! मेरी तरफ से आपके इस episode को ढेर सारे likes....👍👍👍👍

1981 की क्रान्ति ने बाक्स आफिस पर क्रांति ला दी थी, फिल्म मैने कालेज के दिनों में देखी थी ,मुझे अच्छी तरह याद है कि उन दिनों मीडिया ने लीजेंड दिलीप साहब की तारीफ में कहा था कि दिलीप कुमार एक वरिष्ठ अभिनेता हैं,वो इस फिल्म में अभिनय में भी बाकी सब अभिनेताओं के बाप साबित हुये हैं,वाकई दिलीप साहब का शानदार Come Back था इस फिल्म में।
परंतु फिल्म में मेरे विचार से संगीत मनोज की पहले की फिल्मों के स्तर से बहुत नीचे था ,मैं क्रांति के संगीत की तुलना "शोर "फिल्म के संगीत से करुँ तो क्रांति का संगीत बेहद सस्ता था ,मेरे अपने विचार से क्रांति का संगीत हिट तो था परंतु कर्ण प्रिय नहीं था उस समय लक्ष्मी प्यारे अपने करियर के शीर्ष पर थे मेरे खयाल से वे अपना बेस्ट इस फिल्म में नहीं दे पाये ।
बाकी पसंद अपनी अपनी खयाल अपना अपना ।

Great episode rakesh ji. Didn't know about the original casting. Manoj Kumar's another great patriotic film. Shashi Kapoor's only film with dilip kumar and so was Shatrughan sinha's. Manoj Kumar's second film as an actor witg dilip kumar after Aadmi. Only film hema and parveen acted with dilip kumar. Salim Javed kaafi arrogant the. Manoj Kumar ne achcha expose kiya unhe. Dilip Kumar's comeback in 1981 after Bairaag failure 5 years before was very similar to Srk's comeback last year with pathan after Zero failure 5 years before. In the 80s there was no looking back for him. Enjoyed the entire episode rakesh ji. Thank you so much. 🙏

Quite comprehensive Rakeshji! It speaks volumes of your research n hard work. Thanks for making us aware of the various unknown aspects of 'Kranti'.The scale of the film,was huge , the casting of Dilip Kumar- Manoj Kumar: idol n his fan was zabardast along with Hema, Shashi, Shatrughan , MK's deft direction, patriotic theme n catchy songs made the film TOPMOST grosser of 1981.I however found that once the MOST HANDSOME STAR of Indian Cinema , Manoj K looked bloated , tired n was losing the magic of his good looks. Content-wise,Kranti was not Manoj Kumar's best work. His Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim , Shor were much superior films. But yes, Kranti was a craze in 1981.

KRANTI. Is film ke baare me kya kahoo yahi sochkar pareshani ho rahi hai. Matlab yeh aisi film hai ki jisse describe karne ke liye, jiski taarif karne ke liye shabd hi kum pad jaayenge aur bahoot bada paragraph ban sakta hai. To get such a huge starcast all together was no piece of cake. Hats off to Manoj Kumar for making this great patriotic film and making his dream come true to direct his idol legendary Dilip Sahab. What a great performance dilip kumar gave in this film. And what a great comeback he made after 5 years hiatus from films. And after kranti he continued with so many hits and blockbusters for a decade with Vidhata, Mashal, Karma, Dharm adhikari, izzatdaar and Saudagar as well as cult classic Shakti with Amitabh Bachchan.Even in his 60s he played the lead roles in even in multistarrers. Shashi Kapoor played the grey character very well (as his character was negative in the first half and became a hero eventually in the 2nd half). Dosti ho to Manoj Kumar aur Shashi Kapoor jaisi. Shashi kapoor was also à great friend to Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar as well. Manoj Kumar ka direction aur acting dono lajawaab tha. Hema Malini played her role beautifully. Parveen also did good on her part. Shatrughan Sinha did good but was overshadowed by dilip kumar and manoj kumar. Sarika was very beautiful heroine in the 80s and she was fine. Nirupa Roy once again proved that no one can play the onscreen mother better than her. Aapne bilkul sahi kaha, dilip kumar was an idol to many actors and Manoj Kumar was one of them. Shashi Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha also got lucky to share screen with Dilip Sahab. Great episode with lot of details about Kranti that i didn't know of. Dilip Kumar delivered 3 blockbusters in the 80s. (Kranti, vidhaata, and karma). Not even Amitabh did that in his age 60s plus. This film was the 2nd biggest hit of the 80s after Maine pyar Kiya. They should’ve made a sequel on this film too.
From here was the downfall for Manoj Kumar. He made flop films onwards: painter babu, kalyug aur Ramayan, clerk (a terrible laughable classic), Jai hind. 🥴
Right except Kranti was a much bigger hit than Maine pyar kita when adjusted for inflation. Kranti did 10 cr in 81and Maine pyar Kiya did 14 cr in 89. Adjusting for inflation, kranti's business would have approx Been around 25 crores.
