Tony Rose - Golden Vanitee

This a vinyl rip of "Golden Vanitee" by Tony Rose and "his distinguished singing friends". It was released on the LP "Young Hunting" (LER 2013) in 1970.
Tony Rose comments: "This version of the Golden Vanitee, as taken from Stan Hugill's Shanties of the Seven Seas, is a particularly detailed one, with perhaps an unexpected element of humour here and there."
The "distinguished singing friends" are identified on Mainly Norfolk as Peter Bellamy, Heather Wood and Royston Wood of The Young Tradition - who may or may not have broken up at the time of the recording - plus June Tabor, John Kirkpatrick, Dave Calderhead and Kevin Sheils. What a lovely chorus!
