    I know this would be very difficult to do and would result in a very long video probably, but I wonder what each root music genre would sound like, (instead of just EDM), or evolve into over the next decades e.g. rock/metal/punk, rap/hip-hop, R&B, pop, etc.

      @@saroushen like... Idk, like what would rap sound like decades from now, or how would rock and metal or punk evolve, etc.... Or would they even exist (?🧐lol)

    • @saroushen
      @saroushen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BillBraskyy Out of those examples, Metal is the only genre that I can see holding out for the longest period of time because of its complexity (key changes, time signature changes, etc...) As unique as Punk and Rap are, I can't see them going for much longer because from a music theory perspective, there isn't much room for change; the same goes for other genres. Pop doesn't count because pop isn't really a genre. Pop is merely a collection of songs from a genre that happens to be popular. So technically, Pop today is EDM.
      This is why Jazz has lasted for as long as it has, because the theory behind it is so diverse. Jazz can evolve into many different things and still be classified as Jazz.
      What you are describing is still very interesting, and I probably will look into it at some point.

    • @BillBraskyy
      @BillBraskyy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saroushen yo that's what's up brah 🤙🏻
      And yeah those are some good points. I am into rock as an umbrella term, more specifically I like punk (NY/east coast hard core and Detroit scene 70s, 80s, 90s, and some skate punk/west coast), but you make a good case in that Punk as an example. the mindset of punk is basically if you progress, start making money or get uber famous, or try to innovate new sounds, you're a sellout and not a real punk and are no longer welcomed or wanted (although the teachings are all about being different, individuali, embracing others and their cultures, viewpoints, lifestyles, etc.) And with such strict almost dogmatic principles, yeah, I can see how a genre can stagnate and over time lose fanbase, relevancy, etc.
      I can also see rap going that way too like you said (there isn't much musical theory behind it as you mentioned as well), but people fkn love it. Even people in like Serbia or wherever know and low Dre or Lil ____ lol and unlike punk, rap is all about attention, money, greed, and fame, so for some reason I could see rap sticking around and becoming more and more ridiculous (like mumble rap lol)
      Edit: actually, I take back part of what I said. The people who wrote those songs and beats, all that (including R & B and what is considered popular music today) actually are geniuses most of em, and though the music sound simple as shit, it is all designed with purpose, so even though I only like a handful of rap artists, and being raised on rock music, I feel like rap would probably last a very long time.
      I also love jazz and the way you explained its diversity and its rich history and theory of music basically means literally _anything_ is possible, thus it being almost 100yo with Dan's and musicians in the style from age 80 to 18, I could see it and the now niche chill-hop/jazz-hop subgenres becoming more and more popular in place of jazz or alongside it in the distant future though.
      Oh and I also agree with your perspective on metal music as well and the fact that it's more skillful and technical, fast, and technologically advanced now than ever before and I too believe it's just gonna keep going that direction (drum engineering is big now and controversial, and personally, I prefer old school metal from back in the day with the human imperfections and all that made it gritty and dirty), but the new school has been doing some amazing things

      @@Yes-gu2wn B.C is more common in this era, so it has changed in the sense that people rarely use "BCE" . It is also worth noting that the way we address a time period is slowly changing. Some people prefer "CE" and "BCE", but today, people tend to use "BC" instead. I'm not saying that's right, I'm just addressing it in a way that people understand.
      Traditionally speaking, you are 100% correct; since I wasn't documenting any particular year-or writing for religious reasons-I don't need to refer to the year as, "In the year of our Lord" - year.
