No, he did not work free, but he did not take advance. He usually does that for many struggling director & producers.. Roja was produced by KB so he has obey what producers have to say. But also they all have ego as whose work was best so they all split. Mani took time to establish his brand but had lot of ppl who produced & backed up his projects so he never struggled financially to ask any work from any one for free .
Lucky to have seen this movie ,when it was released. Old Bangalore was magical. Most of the landmarks have been lost. In this film Anil Kapoor tilted his head upwards , when he smiled !
I watched the shooting of this movie in cubbon park and mg road. We had no idea of the actors. Bremen bet that both these actors were talking in Hindi and English. What a golden era of our 80s Bengaluru
