  • #424 - Cody Jinks On Finding Success Being an Independent Artist + How He Wrote "Loud and Heavy" With His 2-year Old Son + How The Shift For Authentic Country Music Benefited His Career
Cody Jinks (@codyjinks) sat down with Bobby Bones to talk about his music journey! He went the grassroots effort of playing non-stop shows for 15 years and never signed a record deal, and shared why he thinks that helped him find success. Cody explains why he always invested in himself and the turning point in his career where he realized he was doing better than he thought. He also recalls how on his 2-year-old son's birthday the song "Loud and Heavy" was inspired. Cody also shares why he feels like the shift in country music to be more authentic benefited his career, the artists he thinks are the most real with their music right now, why he feels like he's just starting to get to know his teenage kids and he talks about the process of making his new record!

Got to see Cody in Wilmington, North Carolina. Hope he reads these comments.
One thing I wish he would realize is that he is so good. He does not need all the lights he uses in his show. It's a big distraction from his performance I'm talking about the small yellow lights. There must be 60 or a 100 His music is so good he doesn't need that.

I first discovered Cody Jinks at a Texas Rangers baseball game back in 2018. Relief Pitcher Chris Martin would come onto the field to Cody's "Loud & Heavy," and I was HOOKED !!!!!!!!!!!! I am convinced that if Cody's music EVER goes mainstream, he will be an overnight success, kind of the way Chris Stapleton did, once he stopped writing for other artists and started making his own music. I went to see Cody for the first time this year at a show in Huntsville, AL. It was a surreal moment to see the man I consider the BEST singer in Country Music LIVE. This man, like Chris Stapleton, could literally sing the phone book and it would be an instant hit. Country Music NEEDS more singers like Cody and less of the "Pop" country that is out there right now. Cody Jinks is the NEW Outlaw Country Music King !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤠😎🎸🎸🎸🎸😎🤠
