    As Indian music lover in the United States, I appreciate you very much for explaining the learning process in English. There are millions of Indian music lovers around the world who don't understand the Hindi language but would love to learn in English.
    Thank you so much for being considerate for the rest of the world.

      I have not accepted any contributions in the past. when this channel was created, I deliberately did not monetize the channel so there would not be advertisements. However, I am now planning another set of videos which requires a lot of resources (monetary and otherwise). If you are open to the idea of contributing to this please send me an email: harmoniumteacher@gmail.com.

      Harmonium & Vocal Instruction How many lessons are there in series 300?? I see that you already uploaded 500 series videos. are you planning to upload the 400 series videos soon?

    • @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972
      @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      jitu bhai In series 300 eventually there should be about 25 videos. I have not decided exactly what information will go on each lesson yet. I have posted some 500 series videos to help beginning harmonium students learn simple songs in different scales. The 400 series will give lessons on "Thaats and Raagas" and will probably be created and uploaded after the 300 series. If you are a beginner, the lessons posted in the 100 and 200 series so far should take about three months to complete - for a quick learner. If you complete them in less time, you are probably not doing enough practice. As I stated in my introduction these videos will be posted as they are created. My schedule is most times hectic and does not leave enough time to get these videos created and uploaded.

    Hello! I noticed that your harmonium, unlike mine, when a key is pressed, another key also lowers? Mine does not do this?

    • @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972
      @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Amy Dubois This is a feature that MOST but NOT ALL harmoniums have. This is called a coupler. Some harmoniums are coupled down (like mine) to the lower octave and others coupled to the higher octave. Make sure the coupler knob is engaged if there is one on your harmonium. Thanks for viewing....Indarji

    I like the idea that videos are organized by difficulty level 100 - 200 - 300 - 400 - 500. I would like to know if they can be organized into playlists as well. This way users can look for videos at the right difficulty level.

    Thanks Guru Jee, This is very useful series. I have a doubt though. You press the last note with your little finger. Where as I read that the little finger is not used in simple scales. Many other teachers start with the index finger and use thumb to play 4th and 8th note. Please explain. Thanks

    This is wonderful! I have a question - I am a total beginner for this - but I have seen another harmonium lesson video that shows the finger placements as 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 instead of 1-2-3-1-2-3-4-5 that you have shown here. Can you please clarify why this difference, and the benefit of 1-2-3-1-2-3-4-5?

    • @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972
      @harmoniumvocalinstruction9972  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      healthytuber I teach my students 12312345 because it makes the small finger (pinkie) more flexible and stronger. My method uses the small finger (5) to play the harmonium. Other teachers do not use the small finger. Please note that piano players are taught to use the small finger to play piano so why shouldn't harmonium players do the same?

      Rama chilaka If you are playing one octave the 12312345 is used. In order to run the scale more than one octave the 12312341 is used.

      +Trulia Investigations The chords that I show in videos 107 and 109 can be used universally for any type of music. I suggest you do the practice as given and you will be on your way to incorporating chords into your music. Thanks for viewing....Indarji

    Your instructions make me want to learn, even though I feel I have no skills....

      Thanks for viewing. If you looked at the whole video it means there is that desire in you. Why not explore it? Never underestimate your abilities. I learned to play when I was thirty years old....without any instructions. You are lucky; if you have any questions I am here to give you an answer or try to get you one if I don't know myself. Go for it!

      ***** I will begin posting "Intermediate Level" harmonium lessons in the next six to eight weeks (hopefully) for those people who have progressed through my 100 and 200 series videos. I think those will be helpful for you. I urge you to do all my 100 and 200 series video lessons first and then, when I begin posting the other videos they should help with finding the keys for songs. Keep practicing until then....Thanks Indarji
