Nice comparison! My wife and I have one each - She’s 5’3 and rides an F3 (in Petrol Blue), I’m 6’2” and ride an RT (in Carbon Black). The best way to consider them is for the F3, think “Cruiser”- for the RT, think “Gold Wing.” You sit “in” the F3 and sit “on” the RT. I personally think my wife’s bike, the F3 is the better looking of the two but the RT is more plush and comfortable. We love them both!
I agree with you. F3 looks better but the RT is way more comfortable. I ride the F3 for an hour and my shoulder was hurting for 3 days afterwards. My lower back too. With the RT no problems! I just take the top case off to make it look sporty. Plus mine is all black so it looks meaner on the road 😉
@@theonlyEYEBROWKING - I think a key upgrade for the F3 is to get a backrest. My wife added a backrest and it made all the difference for her back and shoulders. Also, if you're smaller, installing the "short reach" handlebars is a great move.
I’m 6’ and just got an F3-T. The RT is nice but it feels too big for me. I like a more bare bones bike. I just removed the windshield. I would have gotten the sport model but I wanted the ability to tow a trailer.
Great video. My wife and I recently purchased a new RT limited and Sea to Sky. She purchased the RT first and I road it so much she said why don't you buy your own. I said OK! I would tell a person that is considering their height an issue no worries on buying the RT or Sea to sky. My wife is short and I purchased kits for longer handle bars, raised the floor boards and lift kit for the foot break pedal. Fits her like a glove. In Colorado you need to have a motorcycle lic or obtain 3 wheel permit which the dealer and Can-Am set up a class for her. She never rode a bike before and loved the class and received her permit / license in one weekend. The next weekend we took the bikes over the Rocky Mountains via I-70 to Moab UT and had a blast.
I agree that this presentation is very informative and easy to understand. Well done. You have done something that most manufacturers and salespeople cannot. This is a rider to rider which suppliers cannot grasp.
Great video. Traded up to the new RT Ltd last year and absolutely love it. Was able to add a hundred miles per day over the '14 RT Ltd. More comfort, wider heated seat, etc. Live in the north so it sleeps over winter, but aching to get it out come spring.
I have the RT Limited and for the most part I like it. Several things I hate. Sound system sucks, takes too long “loading” . Trans clunks when you first put in gear. Had to replace the seat and trunk gas spring shocks. And that’s just pathetic considering the price tag. I do really love the fact that it’s like riding a snowmobile on the road. One question does the F3 Have the air suspension in the rear like the RT? Looks wise and ride height I like the F3 better but overall you can’t beat the RT. This was hard for me since I’m a master bike builder of V twin bikes ( Harleys) . The sound on the Can Am is horrible to me. I replaced the complete exhaust system and it still sucks, just sucks less. But that’s me. Some appreciate the quiet. To me nothing beats the great sound of a great motor. Be it a car, bike or boat. Heck I bought my first Sea Ray boat based on sound . Was actually a first class boat but the sound clinched the deal the first time I heard it run. I had a few bad accidents and both knees replaced and why I bought a Can Am in the first place. With fused joints in my left hand I can’t pull a clutch lever anymore. Otherwise I’d own a Harley trike. Even though the Can Am is superior with 2 wheels up front. Last item, I think they are way over priced. A boat load of plastic. Fit and finish is pretty good but still. A nice comparison young lady, great video. As always, keep the rubber side down on the road. Lol Or dirt, grass etc. I’ve ridden mine off road carefully a few times. Like trying to cut through backed up traffic jambs😂. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great channel Beth. Also love your merch store! Awesome service on your part. I've had both the Spyder RTL and Ryker Rally. The Spyder holds 2 full face helmets in the back top case and a full face in the the right side saddle. Thanks for your hard work!
Excellent review. I am looking to switch from a 2013 Harley Ultra Classic to a Spyder. I love Harley, but with the bike’s weight combined while riding two up with my wife is giving me balance issues while in traffic or slow riding. My preference would be the f3 because I do like the look better as well as a lower seating position, and would suit my solo riding needs as I would use it to commute back and forth to work , however the more comfortable seat for my wife would be paramount for the little bit of travels we would do. We plan to test ride both shortly.
Hello Beth, Great Video as always. I have been back and forth between trading out my 2022 F3 LSS (exactly like yours) for a Sea to Sky, so this video was a great assist for me...........I still havent pulled the trigger to cross over yet, lol. Both bikes are awesome..... Thanks again for your vids. Hope to see you out there on the circuit. My Best/Doug
Thanks for pointing out the differences / features. I pick up my new Sea to Sky next weekend. Good to know about the floor boards. So looking forward to some long distance touring this summer!!
Great comparison. I didn't realize the frunk was so much bigger on the RT. Side note, get the heavy duty trunk lid shock for your F3 from Show Chrome. Way better than stock.
Just bought a f3 this year. I got the after market swingarm to lower the brake peddle so I don't have to lift my foot as high. it's lower angle makes it so much nicer.
Why do the DMV'S not make a course suitable for the spyders? You have to take the test (at the DMV) on the motorcycle course in which you will be pointed for going out of the boundary line and they even said the spyders don't turn sharp enough to make the turns. Since most classes are full what's a person's to do except hopefully not point out and fail? By the way, speaking of Illinois
Such nice rides! The normal F3-S doesn't have saddlebags, or a trunk, or windshield etc... and the F3-T doesn't have the trunk. My friend has a F3-S, and most full face helmets will fit in the frunk just fine, if you rotate them the right way with the face up and top of the helmet toward front of the bike.
@@RykerRydesI have the same bike as you but the 2023 (bue/green satin) model. Like AyaWetts says i fit my Shoei system helmet in the thrunk and can fit 2 helmets in the topcase at the back if you put them just right. Think yours not fit in the front with the additional light on and it will also be the reason why you only fit 1 in the topcase. In the RT should fit a helmet in the sidecases to.
So i just checked placing a helmet in the front trunk of my 2018 F3 Limited. It will fit a hemet. You have to place it the right way. Now, I don't have the brake unit on the back of my helmet. I will do a video showing a helmet in the front trunk and the rear tour trunk. Great comparison video.

well done Beth.
Thank you!
Where's the foot break on the F3??
The same as on all Can-ams. It sits above the ride side floorboard or peg (depending on which model).
Beth, then the helmet sideways and you can fit 2 full face helmets.
Awesome!! Great to know. Thanks.
they should have paid you to make this !! ❤
Lol! That’s a nice compliment! Thank you!!😊
@@RykerRydes I've had 12 motorcycles in as many years . Always loved the aggressive looks of the spyder.
I could see riding one of these if I could not ride a motorcycle, but for me I prefer wheels in multiple’s of two. From a motorcycle? I’d have to jump to a convertible but that’s just me.
I get it. 2 wheels is very different. Luckily there are options for everyone to get on the road and enjoy some wind therapy!
Great comparison video with what really differentiates both models. I was hoping to purchase a BRP trailer but they stopped making them; but the hitch is still available. The RT Sea-to-Sky was my choice. Cheers Beth!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Richard. Ps there are definitely used trailers out there.
Why little people have to get the biggest stuff?
Really? 🤔
I'll take the rt limited
Are F3 S the same as a RT?
Simply put: no
In the video I go over all the differences

Duly noted. Thank you for watching!Ride safe, have fun.
Most definitely.... F-3
At around 10.55 "DO NOT RIDE WITH YOUR FEET ON THE PASSANGERS FOOT RESTS !!!" Its poor for stability and terrible for the braking.
Great point on braking!
F3 every time 😎
Floating floorboards like Harleys
They are awesome!!
