Workshop: Joe and Charlie - Steps 3 and 4 (3.5 hours)

Joe Mc Q from Little Rock AR and Charlie P from Maysville AR conduct a workshop on the 3rd & 4th Step. This is Joe and Charlie from the very well known big book workshops, I dont know if this was set up as a specific workshop on steps 3 and 4 or a part of one of those book workshops, regardless, they did these many many times over the years and this is from 1994. The audio quality on these workshops vary this one is very good, it does end a little abruptly.

Let me tell you what my sponsor took me and three other guys who were sponsoring to see Joe and Charlie in Rhode Island when I was six months sober and those three guys bet that I would be the one out of the four of us to drink I told my sponsor that and he said my bet is you will be the only one who doesn’t. He said that because I did the five things he asked me to do every day and they lied about doing them is what he told me here it is 28 1/2 years later I am still sober and so is my sponsor those other three guys are nowhere to be found Joe and Charlie broke down the first 164 pages in a way that I could understand at 19 years old I am 48 now graduated college went to Wall Street built a company sold it to Wall Street at 28 years old lived in a big house overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Newport Beach California for 20 years lived in Florida lived in the Northeast happy joyous and free I have a lot of peace of my life most of the time thanks to Joe and Charlie Bill Wilson My sponsors and everyone else but Joe and Charlie did a great service to someone that was 19 years old who did not understand a lot of the things Bill Wilson was talking about from the 1930s a lot of that stuff went over my head but these gentlemen broke down and I’m grateful to them best wishes to anyone try and get sober I owe my life to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and too many of the people in the fellowship
