This is my sister and I talking about her life as a single mom. Did her ex partner also cheated on her that's why she ended up being a single mom like everyone else say about why there are so many single moms in the Philippines? To be honest I don't agree with that theory. Watch the video to find out why. :) #behindthescenes #filipinoculture #singlemom

I commend your sister for this interview. It takes a lot of courage to answer these questions in public especially since she is an introvert.
I am impressed she is not playing the victim and she is taking responsibility for her actions.
Very good interview. Thanks to you and your sister!!

For me, after watching this interview, my heart goes out to your sister's son who is growing up without his father in his life. A boy needs his dad to avoid developing a hole in his heart where a father's love should be. From what I heard, his mom isn't with him either, which can lead to the child developing a sense of feeling abandoned. Anyway, I wish your sister and her son all the best in life.

Amazing video & interview. I was raised by a single mom and did not realized this as a kid. It wasn't until I hit my early 30s that I realized how amazing my mother did raising me. Like your sister, my mother never asked for or pursued any financial support from my father. Take it from a son raised by a single mom, your sister is doing fine. Bravo to her!

Your sister is a cutie, Rubeauti 😍
    And you're a tough interviewer!
I'm very similar to your sister. I'm also very much an introvert, and prefer to have a lot of solitude. I know how she feels. I was shy also, and did not work for quite a while after college. It was really hard to put myself out there even just to find a job. I know how it is. I think she's doing better now, and good for her :)

She will still need to take a chance on love again just take it slower this time and get to know your new partner better make sure that the two of you can create a great family atmosphere together for you and your son. Great interview sister and both of you were very candid about everything awesome job ladies. 🌹🌹🌹🌹

Great interview with your sister! It is good to see her perspective and what she is going through and why. She was very brave to take part in the interview, but I hope it makes her feel better that her story is out. I hope she takes advantage of the new law. It's about taking care of the kids regardless of the parent's relationship. It will make "him" more responsible and he will take relationships and having children more seriously.

  • @billslaven28
    @billslaven28 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Wow! Great interview! Sometimes it's best to leave sleeping dogs lie! I think your sister understands her past relationship better than anyone. Any "small" contribution you could extract from her ex may come back to haunt you because of negative influences from the ex or his family on her son. The best for all concerned is to keep her with her son and let her go back to school. She should work on a degree that would allow her to find employment locally to help support everyone in the future. Don't be too quick to ship your sister off to a place where you have no control over her safety. Your current situation is working. While it may not be optimal, everyone is there for the other person.

Jess has nothing to worry about regards her son I have seen your home vlogs when you have spent time with your nephew and he shows to be a well rounded young man, close to his family and hardly likely to stray from the path. Jess shows honesty in the interview, maturity in her views, even her worries for the future ❤

In the heat of the moment we lost our heads and lost our minds 🤣 and the next day we wondered why it happened after the good feeling is satisfied. I hope everybody can understand that it's more like a riddle. I just want to say we bring kids into this world depending on the other partner to be present! But find later on only family is going to be there to help. I lived in the Philippines for about 9 months, all I saw was a happy kid even if they didn't have the mom and dad were just as happy as kids with mom and dad. It's so amazing in the Philippines how the family knits together to help that fatherless or motherless kid. That's why I can't wait to move back to the Philippines this year. To all the amazing people in the Philippines you are very resilient. And I always tell Filipinos you are not poor until you go to America and miss your culture and family. There's so much land in potential in the Philippines no way is it a poor country you guys got the best buko and land, natural food nice malls. America has nice beautiful homes a lot of money and a lot of fake artificial food also and lots of people on medication,I been on both sides and I want real food 100% everything so never say you are poor, because I saw many super Rich die hard and the money couldn't save them.

This was one of the most down to earth, and honest interviews ever. It should gives men in the west something to think about. One important point is that the basic nature of men and women is the same all over the world. Women seem to be the ones who leave the relationship most often. Women cheating is more a matter of the heart . Men cheating seems to be more for physical gratification.

This was a very interesting interview. I think Filipinas say they are single moms because of the man’s cheated so they don’t have to give the real reasons. You are 100% correct, women end most relationships because they want someone better.

I'd like to say I love your channel very much. I watch it all the time... I think your sister is very beautiful And that she's just going through a phase in life that we all go through... There are a lot of men out there that would love to be with your sister .. and have a meaningful long-term relationship with her it's good that she is not in a rush and meets the right person... I've been in a situation where I was a single dad and raised my son by myself He was two and a half years old He is now 23...
I am now looking to move to the Philippines and and retire and meet a beautiful woman and enjoy life together..

  • @yanassi

This was a good interview. I agree with rubeauti’s perception on western thoughts on cheating, cheating for me is when one decides to be with a woman, then another. Dating is a friendship thing with a potential. It’s the dating events that educates me about the woman i’m considering, and she learns who i am too. Personally, i slept around (in my younger days) with women only when i didn’t have a girlfriend. While many men are like me, there are many more who cheat as i believe is cheating. I believe if i cheat, my partner should be entitled to do the same, so i don’t. Trustworthiness is one of the characteristics i look for while dating. For me it’s a level of respect for my partner and myself. Best wishes for your sister on her journey, and her son finding a happy future. If i were your sister’s male suitor i wouldn’t mind her son having a relationship with his father if he wanted, but i would want to be comfortable knowing she had no feelings for her ex, 8 years could be enough time. I personally would prefer to raise your sister’s son as my own, providing he also chose me as did his mother. On age, 30 years is still young outside the phillipines. Low salaries, wow, an eye opener. I’m retiring this year, also seriously planning to become an USA expat. I did consider the phillipines until i learned if i bought a house, i couldn’t own the land it was on. That’s a vulnerability i wouldn’t want to risk. Strange, the men can’t afford to buy land and foreigners aren’t allowed to, i guess it’s a way for the rich filipino to stay rich via regulations. I understand preventing someone from buying far more than they need, but within reason, a foreigner should be able to buy a certain amount of land under his house. Other than that, i’m impressed with phillipines and it’s people.

The statistics on children of single mothers are very grim here in the US. Family is so vital in their development. Hopefully her child will have a strong male role-model prominent in his life, and perhaps she will find a man who will love her child as his own.

Unfortunately, I was that little boy once. I always wanted my mom to be happy. She experienced many hardships and suffered thorough many trials. She was hurt very badly as a child, and she allowed it to influence her life again and again. She was so afraid of being hurt again or letting someone in and then them hurting me. What I'm trying to say, is you don't have to punish yourself for the rest of your life. Forgive yourself, allow yourself to love again. Please, for your son. You both deserve love, it's worth fighting for.

Very interesting points were made. Although it is noble that Filipino families are so close, the example shown by your sister shows that a big family all living in the same kubo can be toxic. This is why in the western Anglo culture the young people are expected to move out on their own and be responsible before getting married or living with your partner. It's just supposed to be the two parents and child in the same house, with no grandparents, uncles, aunts, or other people to interfere with your personal issues. In our culture if you have to move back in with your parents or extended family that is looked upon as a failure.

  • @vics429

You guys had a very good discussion, and you covered so many key points concerning growing up and being mature, not just for your sister but for us all , as men we need to be more responsible for our actions and we need to hold one another accountable. I'm glad that they do have a new law in the Philippines that will hold irresponsible partners accountable for their actions. Your sister brought up another very good point about gender identity. I hope and pray that you will continue to have a close relationship with your sister. and I am glad that she is not in denial that it is a burden on your parents, but hopefully she will not stay condemned but will do something about it, she can still develop some skills to get a job .We do appreciate your videos and you're unfiltered conversation that you bring to us, thank you.

Your sister is a fascinating woman who is very attractive. That said, it will be a long time before I will consider raising another mans child. Why? Simple, it is not my child and I have no natural responsibility for them. I will add that I love the direction your sister has taken. Acceptance of responsibility and better balance in life. The core problem is people in the Philipinnes are not taught the consequences of premarital sex soon enough. So they discover that on their own. Thank you for an informative Vblog. Thank you for introducing her to me and of course all who viewed the Vblog. Send her my regards and gratitude for her forthright sharing of this common event in the Philippines. 😃

Hi, me again☺ I wrote earlier after 20mins watching, I have now got to the end, your sis is so nervous bless her. About working abroad, the lady I have chatted with for the last 2+ years lives and works in Taiwan, she is bringing up 2 kids alone, both at home with her parents. They are both now in high school, the youngest started this year (sept). She has worked away for probably 10 years now and although she doesn't say, I know she misses them so much, but she feels doing what she is doing is giving them a better chance in life. What she doesn't realise is how much of the parent bond she has lost, not seeing your kids first 'anything'. To not be there when they are scared at night, or as your sis says, to keep them on the right path. The two major influences in kids lives, parents and the other kids around them both have a big part on how your kids see and act in the world. My friend's kids were very small when she went away to work, your sis's kid is 10(?) she said, so she has got through the early years development at least, but is there ever a 'better' time to be away from your kids? Soon he will go himself to high school and so it starts, so many other voices, mostly older, egging you on and pushing you to do stuff that you know you maybe shouldn't, but you do anyway as you want them to like you.... Kids can be so cruel😏 Lastly, 'gender confusion' OMG!!! It is there as well?? 😮 Teach them what is right and 'natural' the rest has to be up to them. I'm fairly sure as you said, your dad will set him on the right path😉 Be well and happy🤗

My feelings on relationships is both of people In the relationship have to give 100% if only one is really trying it will never work.
And both have to have enough maturity to be able to sit down and talk about what it's going to take to make things better without getting into a big argument and yelling at each other.
A relationship (marriage) is two different people that become one and should act and behave as one.
When children are evolved it's even more important to communicate with each other so that they can see this and learn how important it is to keep the relationship going.
I've seen people in my life that had very little and still had a wonderful life together because of love and dedication to there partner and children, and I've also seen couples that had everything, money, homes, cars ect... that were miserable for lack of communication and growing together ❤️
I honestly hope you and your sister have a wonderful life and many blessings, God bless and keep the faith 🙏
As far as cheating goes a lot of times it's for same reason, the couples quit communicating and they search for someone else that can fill in the empty space in their relationship.
In the US I can only speak for myself, I'm 59 years old next month 60 and I've never cheated on my partner, if it would come to that point I would sit down and discuss with my partner why it isn't working and we need to separate and go our own way.
And even then it would be a long time before I could date or start a relationship with someone else.
Again God bless and take care, 🙏 and I wish you both the very best.
And I thank your sister for doing this interview, even though I'm almost 60 I'm always learning and growing every day, I'm very serious looking to retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and I want to learn about life and culture there as much as possible.

Ther are modern, balanced, intelligent men who bring support, encouragement , security, and growth to a partners life and personality. Now, we are not perfect men, or necessarily "rich men," but respond to love and security and belief. Living a happy life of growth learning with another beautiful person is everything. The reward for this is to be crushed by women who assume and underestimate your love and intelligence and do not engage in conversations to resolve issues and, if necessary, give a partner their freedom to pursue their life without you. There is no greater love. Life is a path of learning , changes, challenges, respect and love, and adoration of the inner person, both ways.

I first have to say your sister is a very attractive woman. When she decides to take on a partner she will have no problem finding someone. Relationships have to have compromise from both people to work. She should take the time to really know what it is she wants in a partner and if a person doesn't meet her requirements she should not waste her time but just move on. You are a good Tita to help her with her son....

Sadly a vicious circle. Have a baby early then hubby leaves or cheats.
But to me up to the young mom to encourage their kids get an education, not just high school. Give them birth control, and encourage no boyfriends till they get a good education and a job. Then they will have the tools to succeed if their BF/husband leaves them.

It is very admirable that you and your family helps your sister and your nephew.
I appreciate her honesty however I feel she could easily find a good man that would love and take care of them.
You are right that she needs to find a responsible partner. Hope that she is able to teach her son that there are both good and toxic men in every culture.
It’s hard to understand why the women would cheat on their man.
Although you stated that the man often cheats first, we westerners see beautiful Filipinos as exotic small , gorgeous ladies.

I understand that paying your way but you know that she will always be the wrong one and taking their sons side always it’s stressful not having their own life and own place to live! 5000 pesos per month is only 25 dollars per week that is not much money for 3 people to live on that must be very difficult! She’s very pretty you both are pretty. You don’t need to worry everything will work out for you, you seem very smart and your pretty just be a good mom for your kid you will meet someone who will love you and your kid one day!😊 look for a man who can provide for you and your son they don’t need to be rich but can take care of you love and trust it takes 2 and you will be happy! Remember your son is the most important person in your life one day maybe you can find a man who you will love and can provide that loves you and you son god will always look out for you and your son!!!your sons father should pay child support but just don’t count on his money he dose not sound very reliable just don’t go back with him not good for you and your son go for better!

I am a Bible-believing Christian and I love the Philippines for their Catholic values. I write this to you with the love that we have in common.
Before I saw your interview of your single-mother sister, I agreed with you about the fiscal responsibility that the Philippines should require of the father for your nephew. While I facebook video messaged with a single Filipina that, along with her parents, take care of her single sister’s two children, I was angry, “Why don’t the deadbeat fathers of children supply alimony and child support? They screw women, women get pregnant, and then they move on to screw other women. There should be laws in the Philippines like the laws we have here!”
Three days after my video call, I realized what your interview confirmed. Most of the single mothers in the Philippines leave, not due to a husband’s infidelity, but because they find an easier path - her family and/or a sweet-talking lover - rather than the difficult and uncomfortable path to work out problems. Earlier, Filipina “sulking” was cute. But now I understand that it is easier to sulk than to verbalize feelings. Sulking is passive aggressive. It puts all the work on the man to figure out what the problem is. I don’t accept your conclusion “…that’s just the way it is here.” In other words, your conclusion is for the foreign man to change his expectations, not for the Filipina to change her behavior.
Young couples in the Philippines without enough income need the counsel and support of elder family members. To the contrary, the family ***enables*** the wife to leave the marriage. An enabled wife with a vision of an easier path is emboldened to bitch instead of encourage her husband to find better income. In other words, the wife is enabled to create a toxic environment with her husband.
Please, please, please, do not encourage the Philippines to adopt the same destructive laws we have here (forced by law to supply alimony and child support). If a wife understood that there was no easier path available, survival instincts would kick in, i.e., she would work to do everything she could to make her marriage work because there is no other option. Sacrificial work is an impressive expression of love. It does not take a genius to understand the history of divorce laws and the corresponding increase in the rate of divorce.
During your interview, in your heart, you agree with responsible fiscal support for your nephew. You express concern about your sister’s eight years of unemployment while living at home. She is feeling the pressure from you (shaking her legs with anxiety). She remembers why she left your family. You ask your sister about getting a job overseas. She gives you reasons why she cannot (shy and too old). Has she tried with all her heart to find employment? No! Because she is comfortable at home, and you both acknowledge that fact.
With the challenging work of sacrificial love for each other, the mother and father of your nephew will find a way to meet the needs of your nephew. God is a loving God that supplies all our needs. In the Socratic dialogue 'Republic', Plato famously wrote: “our need will be the real creator” which we molded over time into the English proverb, 'Necessity is the mother of invention.' How do we develop sacrificial love for each other? By knowing the God of the Bible.
Please, please, please, instead of encouraging your sister to solve the problem of fiscal support of her child by sending money from overseas, do everything you can for your nephew to have his father and mother in a happy, even if only functional, marriage. With sacrifice, they will learn to love one another. A boy that grows up in a safe and secure environment of parents that have sacrificial love for one another becomes an impressive adult that shares grace and mercy that he learned from his parents.
Young urban boys join gangs of ladyboys because they notice the extra attention, protection, and privileges school staff and our “modern” society gives to ladyboys. Your nephew, if not already, will learn that by law even while he is a minor, your dad, your sister, and you cannot control his decisions. You must ***guide*** (discipline) his in-born need to experience freedom, not a need to escape oppressive control.
Good discipline of children is a learned art. Children feel better with good discipline, rather than the anger they express while living with parents they can manipulate. One of my favorite eye-opening TV shows was “Supernanny.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernanny_(American_TV_series)
It is not by coincidence that TH-cam automatically loaded the following video when your video ended:

Your sister is beautiful. She deserves a partner that will help her and appreciate her. You are very blunt with the questions but it comes from love, I guess.
I agree that family support is good but falling back into dependence on your parents is not good and should be a last resort. It feels from Jet's response that she feels entitled to that and because of that she did not really commit to her partner.
Unfortunately she seems almost as selfish as Western women. Blaming her mistakes on parents rules and on her youth is a typical Western trait. Being aloof is not the same as being shy.
I hope that with your plain speaking wisdom holding her mirror, that she will see that her self-centered ways are not healthy for her, or her child.
Keep Jet on a positive track. Her inner beauty will emerge and balance with her exterior self.
    Best wishes. 🪞

If a guy cheats and chooses to go back to his girlfriend or wife doesn’t mean it is okay. I am sure there are lot of people that would not want to take that person back. I think anyone that has a child and doesn’t stay together with their partner or spouse should provide support for their child. The only problem with this in the west is sometimes they take so much from people’s paycheck that make it almost impossible to support themselves. I live in the west, and my first marriage didn’t work out. I think my first wife was to young, or at least not ready to settle down because she cheated with someone else. It definitely made me more cautious about getting married the second time. I went with my current wife for seven years before I got married for the second time.
