@@TheBolondron you and I both know that Jesse wouldn't do that, TB's legacy is just that - HIS LEGACY Jesse has his own, and its also really fucking cool :)

Wish you still did LPs often like back in the day. This is 1 BILLION% a Jesse game. Love listening to you ramble on and go crazy of bits and pieces of lore, the game looks beautiful. I'm glad you had such a great time with it.
You and me both. I get why he moved it all to twitch, it is a more finacially stable platform for playing games. But it is so much less viewer friendly than youtube and for all googles's faults, amazon is worse. I will never support anything twitch or amazon related. I just wish he would make a vods channel as so many streamers do. One whose metrics he is not financially dependent upon so his youtube viewers can watch too.
@@sassyviking6003 uploading vods wouldn't do much for Jesse's streams, except the few and far between streams like the Rusty Lake games, it's mostly "let's chill and play some FFXIV" and Sunfall Cycle. he didn't play this game on stream for example, so that story driven let's play feeling most of us love about him isn't there :/
Yes he mostly does the final fantasy mmo, but he does some other stuff. Like when he played chivalry 2, or when he plays total war warhammer, or recently I poked my head in to see what he ever did and he was playing nier and it was juat like one of his old let's plays. There is stuff he could upload here of value from there.
I think by opening the game with "Yeah, Cosmic Horror incoming", they did a good job of 'priming the pump', so to speak. They set your expectations and let your own anticipation and ingrained anxiety about the genre do the work of maintaining the tension. By using player's genre savvy, all they needed to do to keep the tension was little reminders that it was Cosmic Horror. Norah's upbeat attitude and general cheerfulness seems to be a perfect contrast. I need to play this.
I gotta admit, I got a bit teary-eyed seeing comments reminding me of TB. I hope this series goes on, it brings back so many good memories, and also your style is very different from TBs, so it's good seeing you doing your own thing. Much love, Jesse
Found this on Xbox Game Pass a couple months ago, watched the trailer and downloaded it immediately. Then I spent 6 hours playing through it and loving every minute of it.
"And then... Tentacles and screaming." A beautiful way of summarising Cthulhu stories, awesome work Jesse! EDIT: The idea of a Lovecraftian story which approaches cosmic phenomena with wonder instead of dread sounds very fresh and interesting! I think that perspective shift offers a lot of interesting routes for Lovecraftian stories to take.
a little bit of a caution though, my sister has a huge phobia of underwater creatures and this game definitely had those. so be warned if you have the same thing. still recommend this though!!
Great review, Jesse, love this series. Thank you for this. And moreover, thank you for the wonderful homage sign off; thank you for keeping the memory alive
Rlly like this series, always used TGS/Cooptional podcasts and WTF is to keep up with indie titles. Glad you're highlighting indies again, super interesting ✌🏼
Maaan this took me back. Been watching you since the TGS podcast times but sadly i don't really have time to watch streams or long seiers/vids. But this? This is perfect! always found your opinions interesting and entertaining. I would absolutely love to see more. Take care!
Another great one. I was a little worried it might reveal too much, but you kept it tight. And I appreciate the clear presentation of likes and dislikes. Though I'm very curious what kind of puzzle required research for you, but not for other people.
Interesting for people who have the subscription (like me), this game is on Xbox Game Pass for PC. And reading comments below, it also seems to be available on Xbox Game Pass (for Xbox).

The vibe of this game would make me spook myself despite there not being one single thing to scare me. I HATE horror games but this is just a masterpiece. The whole atmosphere made it so I just couldn't play it alone but I had this nagging need to know more. And by god do I love how it looks.
He streamed Rusty Lake because he needed to re-capture footage to use. Other than that, the games he has reviewed in this series he has played on his own time.
Great review dude. I just finished the game and everything you said is exactly how I felt. The puzzles were a bit difficult, but not too hard and the challenge was very satisfying once you beat it.
I know it's still early but Jesse how soon is SGS playing Resident Evil: Village? It might be uploaded as I'm posting this, idk. But I'm really excited!
Great review Jesse. I must say I wish you did a playthrough/let's play of this, it's exactly the kind of game I LOVE to watch you play more than anyone else. Other than David Cage style games, that is.

And the being stuck so doing a search and finding people saying the puzzles are too easy? I - have - been - there! That handprint puzzle was a hassle for me too. The walking from top to bottom made me want to put the controller down. Also the puzzle with the four large murals was impossible, I ended up googling the answer. Still really enjoyed the game.
Puzzles are really standard in terms of difficulty. They either rely on you piecing together all clues or trying it once to see how it works, sometimes both. You know that all clues to the puzzle are in your journal, so whatever you see in your journal is the only thing you need to solve it and if there's empty space you know you're missing a clue, which means you just need to look around some more. The only puzzle where your journal isn't everything you need is the final part of the final puzzle, but that's okay since she literally says out loud what you need to do and pans the camera to where you need to look. And murals are very simple, once you realize that what it says in the journal and on several notes is literally what's happening. I think what happens is that when people try to finish this game in one go they get fatigued and then consider puzzles too hard, instead of taking a break and trying later or tomorrow. Happened to me at the symbol combination puzzle with four murals, at first I thought "so this is what people mean about some puzzles being too hard or obtuse?", I didn't even bother trying it as I was tired and just went to sleep. I woke up the next day and immediately realized what I needed to do, since I wasn't tired while trying to play the game past midnight and finish it in one sitting.
Hey Jesse Cox! love your videos! i was wondering what you'll be doing next. if you don't know a game you want to play next, i'd Highly recommend a Scary Game Squad let's play of At Dead of Night! it's a creepy as hell first person click and movie murder mystery game, with good jumpscares, decent mysteries, and graphic and scary moments! you and the crew would love it! it'd be just like Layers of Fear all over again!
I'd love to see an indie review or even just a playthrough of Boyfriend Dungeon. It's a rogue-like/dating sim where you can date your weapons (and they're all hot), plus it's really charming and I think it'd be right up your alley!
