  • It’s been a while since I posted and I guess I have been a little lazy and trying to get more footage and school starting. I got more stuff ready to post. But here it is! So 3 days I was informed by Kenny that the roll out was starting in Del Web neighborhood. So that Monday I was busy in the morning then I had time to find the crews doing the rollout. As soon we drove in we saw Black, Blue and green carts. We found a crew right away and I asked to film. All the guys were super cool. And I even saw the supervisor. After a little bit we ran into 4 more crews. A crew for every color picking up new or old cans. After a while I went to find a other recycle crew and talked to them for a bit.
After a while I ended up with a crew doing the old green waste cans this crew was a super chill and wanted to be on camera a lot. After a second they let me started dissembling carts, wheels and even let me on the trailer. So shout out to them. Also was pretty cool to be the first person to film the rollout.
These cans haven’t been replaced for over 17 years. Back in the day (2000-2003) BFI had pythons and autoreachs and maybe some automators. These toters and Rehrigs have been worn and sun fated badly from this summer heat. As today it is 107 degrees. Most of my older EG cans are really fated from the sun. But it was a good idea to do it now before these carts slowly die. Kinda sad to see these go. Some of the new Q series and some M series are still can be used for another 15 years but the color code changed so. I took 10 carts so far and we haven’t barely started week 3 yet. So if your a collector get down here! We have lots of Toters, Rehrigs and Some SSIs!
Also Shout out to the amazing crew for letting me film and help out!
    Filmed: 8/1/22, 8/5/22, 8/9/22.
    Filmed with: iPhone 13
    Filmed in: Elk Grove, CA

Why are the Toters stripped of their wheels? They are able to stack with them on

They have to take the wheels off to shred them. They take off the lids with force at the yard. Im also hopefully getting some Cascades from 90s ish this weekend.

SB1383 was not implemented by Newsom. It was implemented in 2016 by Former Gov. Jerry Brown began the 1st phase which was to make Organics a must for buissness and begin slowly incorpating residential to start by 2022. Newsom followed the already approved bill and went through with it. It's all about reducing methane, not destroying more land for more landfill space, and its a way to give back to the environment. Besides, it was to happen anyway if their contract was renewed due to the new terms which shall include new carts with the new agreement and they aren't that rare. You will find EVR 2's everywhere.

@@WMAC_Master Oro Loma had the roll out planned back in 2020. It was part of the franchise renewal they did with Waste Management back in 2020. It becoming a common thing for city's to demand new carts be rolled out for a new agreement.
