The Persians get quantity and quality. Not only do they receive a 10% population cap bonus, but they also have Ice Houses and Palaces, which passively generate resources worth ~15 workers extra. Their champion cavalry lancers get a special technology that gives them extra health. This combines into letting them easily spam a lot of very strong and mobile units.

I doubt I'll make any prerelease videos, though I'm interested in the changes. borg- himself has worked on some gameplay and balance patches.
