    My 3 year old daughter has severe eczema on every part of her body except her face and back. Her dermatologist said something that made me feel so much better as a mom. She said, "You can do everything you can think of to help her not flare-up, but there will be times she will flare-up for absolutely no apparent reason. I don't want you thinking it's something you are/aren't doing. You are doing the best you can, and that's enough. The best thing you can do is keep her moisturized. Layering is going to be your best friend when it comes to lotions/creams with her. When she has a bad flare-up, just stick with the steroid cream and good ol Vaseline. After the flare-up gets better, then you can resume your normal lotions. The Vaseline is going to lock in moisture without irritating it." So that's what we have been doing ever since. I still vet every single thing that comes into this house that could touch her skin and possibly cause a flare-up, but I'm not blaming myself for missing something when she does flare-up. She will scratch until she bleeds if we don't stay on top of her moisturizers, though.
    I also have eczema, but it's only on my arms. I know how it feels to literally want to scratch your skin off, but mine is only a fraction of what she has.

      I prefer lanolin maybe from sheep’s wool. You can get it ethically sourced. Vaseline irritates my skin somehow!? I had outgrown eczema mostly to have it sneak back during perimenopause. Our 4th daughter used to have it when young so those first 3 years I bathed her minimally bc dr sd was too much for her. She is nearly 18 and recently sd her skin is getting dry again. She only bathes full shower about 3x a week still to keep eczema at bay and just uses cleansing wipes in intimate areas, and wipes for armpits daily. She doesn’t even wash her face daily using instead micellar water or nothing. She also has ADHD, anxiety & autism but her blood allergy tests were negative for everything! I am allergic to mold, some pollen, milk, wheat etc myself.

      @@warriormamma8098not to tell anyone what to do but can I suggest zinc cream? Most of my family has eczema and zinc cream helps with the itching and the healing the skin barrier especially if the flair is on the face. Don’t bother with expensive zinc creams though, find a diaper rash cream with no petroleum. Main ingredient is usually zinc.

      Whatever you do, DO NOT USE STEROID CREAMS!! Please Google TSW and then you'll know why I say that.. its horrendous watching someone go through TSW... doctors will bully you into using them but I promise its the worst thing you could do for your child. At best the steroid creams will just push the eczema back into the skin and will keep coming through. 😢
      Find some other alternatives please x

    Liana, I’m here in America but I FULLY understand your experience because mine was pretty similar. My daughter suffered from eczema as well…her first flare up was around 9/10 months maybe a little younger (it’s been awhile) but her pediatrician swore up and down it was ringworm…which I couldn’t understand how because I didn’t have it and I am the only one who took care of all her needs exclusively…but what do I know I’m not a doctor…it took for them to eventually prescribe a medication for eczema (Elidel) which BURNED her face/cheeks it was too strong and I later found out it wasn’t supposed to be prescribed for children under 3(I believe…I am not positive I just know it was not supposed to be used on her age group)…this prompted them to refer me to an actual dermatologist and within moments he said with utter certainty that it was eczema and he also gave me tips on how to help minimize her flare up’s and prescribed at that time it was hydrocortisone…one of the biggest tips that I saw a big change was to not use anything that’s scented INCLUDING BABY products…if it has a scent DON’T use it and that was a game changer…of course she still had flares and I would treat them accordingly but her face eventually cleared up and the rest is history ❤Sorry for how long 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️😂

    ***ECZEMA. LONG COMMENT HOWEVER PLEASE READ. My daughter 22 yrs ago was diagnosed with eczema. This has given us many many yrs to find a lotion, medications, a natural remedy etc...a few things that have worked the best for her...1 she has to drink lots of fluids. Not soda but lots of water and yes some juices as well here and there. Her drinking lots of fluids (more than the average person/kid would drink...but not forced to make her belly feel sick) would help prevent a flare up or calm one down. It's easier to prevent than to heal it. Heat always flared hers up. Especially if she gets too hot while sleeping. In fact shes dealing with a flare up cause shes getting over a stomach bug and has been under a ton of stress due to her job. Since she was in bed from being sick, she over heated as well and didnt kick the blankets off which helped her eczema flare up more. Waking up she was scratching at it and didnt realize being half asleep. This made it worse and also caused some bruising. On the flip side of not trying to get to hot, we noticed if the weather wasnt 95 degrees out and she was outside, the sun would help heal it faster. Also during the summer when we would notice a flare up coming, we would put her in the pool. I think it's the chlorine (maybe) in the water that would help drastically, along with the sun. The biggest thing we learned was....NEVER use any lotions or other products on the eczema that contains petroleum. Petroleum like in vaseline any found in many other lotions. These are too thick and greasy and would literally suffocate her skin. It would cause her eczema to burn, itch more, hurt and heal significantly slower. Yes the dr is right to keep moisturizing him but please stay away from products that are thick with petroleum. These are just a few things we have learned over the yrs. What might work for her, might not work for everyone but it's at least something to try. One last thing. When she was a baby about 6 months old she kept getting diaper rashes no matter how quick or how much we changed her diaper. Her pediatrician told us to just keep her diaper off as much as possible and keep blankets under her. Well she was potty trained before her 1st birthday. The reason why I'm telling you this is because drs are finding that if your baby starts having lots of problems with diaper rashes for no apparent reason they are finding theres a connection. Meaning its eczema causing the per say diaper rash. Unfortunately the drs back than and some still today prescribed thick lotions/creams to keep the urine away from the skin to help prevent the diaper rash, when they are only making the eczema worse. Hope this helps you or any of your subscribers. She is our 3rd child and our other first 2 children do not have eczema and neither does our grandchildren. Our daughter with the eczema has not had a child yet, so we will have to see one day if her child has problems with eczema. Best wishes.*** BTW...aloe vera, only the banana boat brand and the natural brands (you can find online) help prevent flare ups for her. One rule of thumb when buying a good aloe is, if you can't take your eye make up off with using aloe on some tissue or washcloth without it burning your eyes, throw it out. It's not a good brand and will burn when put on excema.

      Currently dealing with what I have come to assume is cold based eczema (live in Australia where it is currently winter and only really flares up when it is cold temperatures). I have been trying to look for creams that'd help that also isn't oily (sensitive to the texture). The cream I use currently hasn't helped and it seems worse than previous flare ups this time around. Gonna use Ur tip about the petroleum (which my current cream does have it higher up in the list of ingredients so may be why it doesn't work). Thank you 😊

      Light therapy and bleach baths are definitely a treatment for eczema! So no surprise there. It is surprising that she responded to poorly to petroleum. A lot of people with eczema depend on petroleum to lock in moisture because it is so occlusive

    I’ve got two little ones with eczema. One is 6 now and has basically outgrown it. Though her skin is still VERY dry, especially during the months/seasons when she used to flare. My other is 2, almost 3. We’ve got it to a manageable point. But I will say it took some trial and error with different creams before finding the one that his skin responded to best. And we do still have to apply his cream once a day to make sure to keep him moisturized and prevent the eczema from flaring too much. It’s hard to see their skin when it flares, and I’m sure it’s especially hard since Koazy’s is on his sweet little face. But you’ve got this! In our experience, they weren’t too bothered by it, it only looked bad. But I do know that’s not the experience for all little ones with eczema. Anyways, I’m so glad you were able to get answers. That in itself has to be a huge relief!

    My son has the exact same issue with eczema still flares up when he gets sick and is also always worse in the winter. He’s a lot better now at 8 years old but he also has food allergies that contributed to the flares. He got a lot better when we cut out dairy (cow, for some reason goats milk and cheese is fine) even though he didn't test positive for that as an allergy. So know that it might still be with trying to cut out dairy if the eczema is persistent. Im so glad you got creams and info on how to treat it, its such a relief when you know what to do!

    • @JessicaClark-lq4gw
      @JessicaClark-lq4gw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Goats milk still has lactose and lactose is what they actually test for on the allergy testing. If lactose came back negative look into cows milk protein allergy. Every mammal has a species-specific protein in their milk and some people are allergic to cow milk protein specifically. On the bright side if it is that you can still have goat, sheep, or any other animal cheeses/milks you like.

    • @emiliadonoghue6770
      @emiliadonoghue6770 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks guys for trying to help ❤️ Its an intolerans to the milk protein. Because it’s not a true allergy it doesn’t show up on tests but he still gets issues from it. Having lactose free stuff doesn’t make any difference.

    i’ve had eczema since i was his age & i am 23 now still living with it! when i was 12 i was allergy tested & found out i was allergic to most every thing outside, pollens, weeds, molds, etc. i also had a sensitivity to fragrances & harsher things on my skin. so my parents switched to only using non fragranced detergents & there are MANY eczema skin products on the market now that work great ! i personally only use dove soaps & Cetaphil lotions/moisturizers!
    And while there is a higher chance he will outgrow it, if he does end up having it lifelong like me, don’t worry too much/ i’ve actually been on an injectable medication for over 2 years now & it has completely healed my eczema- if i do flare up it only lasts hours rather than weeks! so there is hope even if it’s a forever thing for him!❤

    ***My daughter is 22yrs old. She has had eczema since she was his age. One huge thing we found is not to use anything petroleum based. When it’s that thick the skin can’t breathe. It’s different than applying thick lotion. Just thought I would let ya know if you end up reading this. We’ve spent 20 yrs doing the trial and error when it comes to eczema. We did find that lavender oil did help. However it needs to be high grade. We use a brand called young living. Also running thieves through a diffuser and also diluting it with almond oil and putting it on our children’s feet keep them from getting sick. Their teachers couldn’t believe our children for years throughout elementary school never missed one day from being sick. I was extremely skeptical about using these oils. I really didn’t think they would work. I was amazed. Literally running thieves through the diffuser and putting it on their feet in the morning before school and before bed kept them from getting sick. Before we started using these oils, our kids seemed to get every thing under the sun. Just make sure the oils are high grade. The ones you can get at like Walmart don’t work. I know the brand young living tends to be a bit more expensive. However missing work cause you’re children are sick ya loose money. The worst part is just having your children not feel well. For any other momma or dad that read this…try it. What do you got to loose?***

    Oatmeal baths help. I currently have exema and have gotten impatigo many times to the point I had herpis in my eye. It got that way by me having herpis and drinking after my father who had a cold sore. If coazy gets exema all over his body later on I'd suggest asking your doctor about a bleach bath. It's just very diluted bleach water and it helps disinfect

      @@ConnorAndLianamy children all have eczema. One thing I found that helped us was raw oatmeal baths. It’s a fun mess but works wonders. Sometimes I would make a paste of it and put on my son’s poor cheeks when a messy bath wasn’t an option. I also found that dairy triggers their outbreaks. You have got this!

    My daughter was diagnosed with when she was 6 months old. I was told to only bathe her with white Dove soap and use Ponds cold cream as moisturizer. Worked wonders for her! She will be forty in a few months and still uses only Dove & Ponds. I think Dove makes baby wash now.
    My son also has eczema but not as bad as his sister does. He uses Aveno body wash and moisturizer.

    I’ve had eczema since I was born, and all I would recommend is that use products (soaps, lotions, etc.) that are non scented. Fragrances aren’t the greatest on skin with eczema, or just sensitive skin in general. To moisturize, use topical steroids that are recommended by your dermatologist, or vaseline works well too! hope this helps!!

    Ahh Koazy is talking a lot more clearly. So adorable 🥰 i love watching yals videos. I hope the cream works on Koazy i know how it feels to have eczema. Ive had it dor years and since getting dyes to doing my pet scans and MRI on my brain i break out worse and it stays for a long time but the doctors dont give me anything for it plus i went to and dermatologist a few years ago and the cream they gave me that was $100 my insurance only paid half it didnt work much just a little bit. So one Dr said its nothing you can really do it will come and go its something to live with. So i just like its will go away. Im even allergic to the sun im surpose to use sunscreen or long sleeves i use sunscreen some.

    my daughter had the same thing. also asthma in the family, she has excema and shortness of breath due to dust mites. dermatologist also said eczema and I had to apply ointment. An alternative doctor told me to give up ALL forms of animal milk. it really changed her life. no eczema, no more asthma and less illness. I don't know if it will also help your son, but it might be worth trying for a few weeks. It is a challenge at first because many products contain milk. but it's worth it if it helps. I enjoy watching your videos so much!! thanks for who you are. greetings from the Netherlands

    With eczema you have to watch out which washing powder, lotions etc. that you use. Actually stay away from powders as the fillers can irritate. Use liquids. Stay away from scents and also away from as many additives as possible. Buy hypoallergenic products or those that are made for sensitive skin. Let his natural body oils moisturize his skin as much as possible. Bathe with water only unless he is overly dirty, then use only liquid mild moisturizing soap. Also be careful of mixed fibers in clothing that may shed irritating fibers. 100 percent cotton is the best. My son had his first break out at 2 months old and I these are some of the things I learned along the way.

    I noticed the rashes awhile ago. All of my boys had allergies, and eczema was a huge sign...gluten, dairy, corn, and one had issues with anything orange (carrots, oranges, clementines, etc). Everyone cleared up after removimg these foods. Another tool that helped us was kinetic energy testing and biofeedback. I never commented, as we all go through our own journey with this sort of thing...and I didn't care to get any neg comments either. I did all this back in 2003...when it wasn't quite understood. I will say that I believe your illnesses are also linked as well...found out my immune issues, eczema, hairloss, pitted nails and "IBS"...all came from food intolerances. And, all symptoms dissappeared.💖💖💖
