    Sir I have a short cut
    Divide hypothetical value with std error and compare with the range
    Am I right? Referring from schwer book

  • @salgsalgglas
    @salgsalgglas ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Utkarsh Sir, can i think of Std Error as an adjustment we make to the Std Deviation of the sample because we wish to make an inference about the Population from the Sample?

    What is the rationale of calculating test statistics when we are rejecting or accepting null based on critical values..?

    • @nisargjani8050
      @nisargjani8050 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We compare test statistics value with critical values to decide whether to reject or not reject null hypothesis.

    while i am sure the idea of using the illustration is definitely to help people understand this concept, however Mr Null cannot be introduced as the one criticizing (as it can be confused with Mr. Null providing the alternative hypothesis), Mr Null has to be the one who is stating the status quo assumption! that he believes that 40 is what he believes to the average. and the scientists are the ones basis their data providing the alternative ! sorry if am rambling here.

    • @MichaelHolder24
      @MichaelHolder24 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed - This is how it is taught in the textbook. It is Mr Null who FIRST introduces the status quo (not the other way round)…
