Great bike man! Yours looks great, I picked up a 1983 model with 5,000 miles on it earlier this summer also. Awesome for how low maintenance it is with the shaft drive and self adjusting valves. I've put new springs in the front and nice shocks on the rear. I think the CB300 looks fine, but I'm past my time with the lower CC bikes. I love the 650 because it has the 6th gear so you can cruise on the highway at pretty low RPMs. I think the 300 class gets buzzy at highway speeds. If you're relatively new though, it might be smart to keep the 300 to at least get a year or two of experience. Its really cliche, but I learned so much starting out on a 250cc thumper.
