I enjoy the video game repairs, and the videos on other stuff is great too! I’ve been pushing off working on my own neglected guitar pedals because I didn’t have a clue where to begin. This helps a lot!
Remember your channel is RetroRepairs and not RetroGameRepairs. The "WAH" is hardly heard in modern music. That is a classic sound dating back to the 70s.
You +explaining repairs, that's the gold. Had a pun about your pedal being just dirty meant you played trash metal, but... That would be banging my head
Hey Adam! So you are a guitarist as well? Neat! Before I went into classic video games I liked to dig in guitars as well. Still have dozens of them. A full rack of acoustic guitars, and bunch of electric/bass ones.
I always thought you looked like you're in a rock band. You remind me a little of Adam Gontier, former lead singer of Three Days Grace. I love their early work with Adam. The band is from Canada by the way! 🔥
There's a tool that I've used on planes, houses, circuit boards, businesses, you name it. It's the most handy thing and I've always called it a "scribe" but I've heard "scriber." They come in a few variations and kind of look the a tool a dentist would use. Would have used it with the tabs potentiometer. And it cost me only a few US$.
Maintenance is also a very important part of keeping you things working. So if you feel like filming yourself while doing that, you can already count my view as soon as I find out the video is out. I'll also say go for it if you want to repair things that aren't necessarily related to video games. I really enjoy your video games related videos, but that appreciation shouldn't limit you to only that type of repairs. As long as you're having a good time doing the video and repair, I have no doubt that the video will be interesting :)
I've true-bypass and q-sweep modded a bunch of these for myself and others, but this is the first one I've seen with surface mount components and that PCB. Do you know what year your's was produced?
@@RetroRepairs Thanks for the reply, I opened a 2021 SD-1 recently to mod and it seems boss has moved to surface mount for their pedals too. I guess I'm showing my vintage, lol.
It's designed to move and there's a plastic part that sets its range. As long as it's aligned, it doesn't matter as long as you install it properly like i show at the end
I just enjoy watching repairs it doesn't have to be video game related.
I enjoy any type of electronic repairs. Thanks.
More guitar electronics repairs is always a good thing.
Had to chuckle at the popcorn. That was a bit unexpected. Nice vid!
No kidding, never seen that
Would love more guitar pedal repair videos!
Heck, I would LOVE to see you mod some pedals like some extra functions for a muff pedal or something!
Would love to see more of these! I have a vintage crybaby that has some issues 😕
It's been so long since i had my wah, i thought the static was NORMAL!! 😂
Super stoked to see you’re a guitar player as well, I always want to learn how to fix things related to this so thanks a bunch man!
What a weird weird coincidence... My wah pedal just went out.. now here you are fixing one.

I appreciate this video. I own a cry baby wah 95Q that has this same issue.

You should make a jam video. Great video as always.
This was a really good one. Do you have any more non-game repairs planned? All electronics should get repaired, and you do quality work.
I think Kirk Hammett would love to see this video.
Come clean it now! Wha Wah chicka wha wha chicka chicka chicka

Nicely done man!
This is kinda cool. Other guy i watch mostly repaired consoles then branched out to cameras… lol 😂

@@RetroRepairs Awesome. It's been a long time since I listened to them. You hit me with nostalgia feels.
Why did you not mark the position the pot was in before you took it apart?
