This is such a good guide, it's straight to the point and shows demonstrations. Much better than all those other guides where people just sit and talk for an hour with a greenscreen thanks!
great video, me and a mate recently got an old krieg and kommando box so this was a great help for us getting up to the date with the rules especially stuff we keep getting conflicting info for! Also loving the blue on the nightlords its such a nice shade of blue
Great video, great narration and rules clarifications. Your examples are easy-to-follow, and a lot of players would do well to watch this, even seasoned players.
A little bit of poor wording. In other words, all of the marines attack dice can be used to inflict damage to the skitarii. "Sending them straight through" meaning the skitarii can't do anything about it since he doesn't have anymore dice to resolve.
4:31 "This terrain feature is 4" high, therefore we spend 4" movement to climb it." Rules state "Operative must be within 1" horizontal and 3" vertical to climb." Wouldn't that mean that he cannot climb a 4" high terrain piece? Unless he's flying or something similar?
I believe the intention for the "within 3" vertically" is the wall your model is next to when it starts to climb. Not referring specifically to the vantage point. If you look at page 56 of the core rules, you'll see an exact example of what we show in the video.
@@Six-SidedLegion Yea, you're within 1" of the vertical wall, so you're good! I think I was judging it from where the 6" ruler was and not the actual model! Thanks for the explanation, and great video!
I am bit confused about fight action example. Was Skitarii supposed to resolve its dice first since it was fighting? Or you can parry out of order? Maybe that was some special marine ability?
Thank you for catching that! I did say the skitarii was fighting the marine but showed the dice backwards. The fighting operative resolves their dice first. So this example shows the space marine fighting and the skitarii retaliating. However there are some special rules that can make the defending operative resolve a die before the attacker, and those abilities are found on their data cards. An example of this is the Kurnathi on Corsairs for instance. Hope this clears it up!
I have a question about CP, how much do you actually start with? Ive read that each player starts with 2CP, do you get an additional one during the first strategic phase for a total or 3, or is that already accounted for? Thanks in advance
Yes, he would then be a valid target so long as the drawn cover lines do not cross intervening terrain. Also, moving within 2" will negate intervening terrain from providing cover so they would also be a valid target then.
Kill Team is confusing as f***. Thank you for trying to clarify more specific rules...but as a beginner, there is SO much to be aware of, it feels like its gonna take a fair few terrible games before the rules start being applied properly. I appreciate the specificity of the game...but Jesus Christ is it complicated 😂
Hi, starting out with a friend here, we cant find the scouting phase thing in the core book, (I have one) and videos online have been inconsistant. Is it a thing or not?
Weirdly, I can't find it in the core book either. However, if you have the approved ops cards, it's step 4 on the mission pack pamphlet. It is absolutely a thing in this edition as it was in the previous edition. This is how the first TP initiative is decided for competitive games.
i believe that for some reason the core book provides the 'base rules' that do not include the scouting phase. For the Universal Equipment and scouting phases it seems we have to obtain the additional rules add-on provided in the Approved Ops cards
Step 1: Buy a starter set. Whoops, you need more stuff. Step 2: Buy more stuff. Sorry, you still need more stuff. Step 3: Buy more stuff. You're not gonna believe this but... Welcome to Games Workshop.
Just bought hivestorm to get into killteam Core rule book says precisely ZERO about Selecting equipment (when and how) Scouting phase Why are GW like this bros?
GW works in mysterious ways. The Hivestorm Dossier book has information on universal equipment on page 70, but otherwise the phases for scouting and picking equipment can be found on the approved ops mission pack game sequence card.
@@riverrunners3621 so to put in a little simpler. • Each player has a kill op by default • You randomly select a crit op when setting up • Each player SECRETLY selects a tac op from among the archetypes for their team • Each player SECRETLY selects a primary op during the first turning point Each of the first 3 ops can max at 6 VP. There's a lot of people who consider the tidbit of "Killteam" in 2016 to be first edition. Since those rules were just an alternate way to play big Warhammer, we don't really count it. The 2018 ruleset was the first to be it's own game and have it's own releases. That would make 2021 2nd edition and 2024 3rd edition.
Thank you so much for making it really easy to understand!
Hands down the most useful tutorial/clarification video for Kill team 24
A very helpful guide that I will be watching multiple times until the info sinks into my brain. Thanks for taking the time to make this!
best video, thanks bro

Like everyone else has said-BEST KILL TEAM GUIDE 🫡
This was the VERY BEST guide to KT 3.0. I have watched several chanels and this was made very simple, covering the most important points.
We appreciate the praise 🙏
Succinct and easy to comprehend. Great quick reference player aid, too. Many thanks.
This was literally theost helpful Killteam guide I have ever seen. Thank you so much.
This is hands down the best tutorial on this game. I've struggled for ages with some things you explained super clearly in like seconds ahha

by far the best tutorial i've seen for the game, very clear!
Well done! Best explanation I have seen. Thank you for posting it guys!
Brilliant. You have a real talent at simplifying complicated things. This is rare. Bravo!
a really good video to get to grips with what's changed before I head to my LGS! high quality stuff. Will distribute it.
Well explained good job. :) It's clarified lot of mysteries which I didn't understand.
One of the best guides I've seen so far covering the starting of the game. Question: 2:20 what if both players select the same scouting option?
Sorry that was missed. It was a lot of info to remember. 😂 The player who doesn't have the pregame initiative gets to decide in the case of a tie.
@@Six-SidedLegion thank you! awesome! liked and subscribed :D

Comment for the algorithm!
best explanation I found. 😊❤ thank you.
Tnx so much, i bought the hivestorm so i can finally learn how to play warhammer. I plan to learn killteam first before the big armies
Thanks for this. The rule book doesn’t do a great job of explaining how to use all the approved ops cards. This really helped
+1
Super clear explanations and covers a lot of ground quickly. Great job!
Great vid! This helped a bunch, very well done
Nice terrain. Like the paint job.
This was very clear, thanks!
Raw. Next question
Doing the Emperor’s work, it finally makes sense
Great straight to the point guide 🙏
great video sir! easy to understand, keep up your good works!!
Brooo this was good. You should post more 👀
Very very cool thank you
Great video, thank you
Very clear!
Very cool I’m a professional now
Great video.
YES!
This is how u do a tutorial best one ever
Now do 40k 10th
An horus heresy 😂
Just playing wish u did though
banger video
Great guide compared to every other one I watched. You took the confusion away from this game for me
Great video! Do you know where you got your markers for concealed vs. enaged from?

Question- Can you shoot an enemy operative if he is engaged with another friendly operative?
@@Tombonzo No. Being in control range of an enemy operative makes both of those operatives invalid targets for shooting attacks.

You DO gain another CP at the start of the first strategy phase. Essentially, start the game with 3 CP.
@Six-SidedLegion thank you that was how me and my friend have been playing but I was not sure if it was correct
Exelent tootoriall
Where’d you pick up the game mat? Thanks!
What if someone is concealed and in cover but the enemy flanks and has clear line of sight? Is he valid target?
Yes, he would then be a valid target so long as the drawn cover lines do not cross intervening terrain. Also, moving within 2" will negate intervening terrain from providing cover so they would also be a valid target then.
