www.tech21nyc.com I reckon the VT Bass sounds pretty cool with guitar too. You have to wind the highs off a little but aside from that it's got a real cool honk. Check it out.
I use this pedal to record quite a lot on guitar, often bypassing the cab sim and using inpulse responses to simulate various other cab tones - works really well
Hey mate! great video! i'm a bass player and i play some guitar, i'd like to know what kind of tuning is it on 1:49 please? one of my fav bands Turbonegro use this kind of chords ALOT!! :)
Brett, I know this demo is old, but do yo remember how this pedal compares with the C.Bread SFT? Also, do you find any uses for these Ampeg style Overdrives on Guitar other than Stones tones?
I tried the v1 VT Bass with my Jazzmaster (VMJM) and got unbearable icepick treble on every setting. The 'Treble' control must be a bandcut with a center frequency too low for guitar because it did very little to tame the treble. I'm not sure how Brett kept his telecaster from being ear-bleeding in this clip. Still love the Blonde and Liverpool, and I really wish there was an Ampeg flavor Sansamp for guitar.
I use a jazzmaster too...I just roll back the tone knob on the guitar. Sweetens the tone and gives you "gas in the tank" in case you need to go brighter for any reason (i.e., turn the knob back up).
Also, bear in mind that FLAT on the VT bass is Bass at 1 o'clock, Mid at 1 o'clock, Treble at 10 o'clock, character at noon. A lot of people don't know this and then wonder why the pedal sounds gross with all the knobs at noon.
Wow! That possibly sounds cooler than the other two. I love that type of sound.
Also dig those Telecaster-flavored lines... wonderful playing!

Ok, old post, but... How do you turn off the cab sim on this?
@@semilumi version two of this pedal and the most current VT Bass di have a switch to turn cabinet simulation on and off
I use this pedal with guitar and an eq pedal, absolute killer
That is really tremendous tone--really great!
Great tones Burgs!! Love the Mick Taylor era Stones sound, just awesome---I wonder how this compares to the SFT by Catalinbread?
Awesome classic rock sound
A les Paul into the VT bass di gives Nasty distortion!
@frenzexperiment
Thanks for adding that last part in there.
That's pretty cool, a real great sound. Just wish it could do the higher gain fuzzy sound too.
The tone at 2:00 sold me and I wanted to buy this for bass lol
niiiiice! I was thinking to get one for bass, now I know it's gonna be huge on guitar too. Dealio!

I'd be interested to hear what this sounds like with an SG with a Bigsby playing lead lines ;)

this pedal can be used in a band of two people without a bass player ? just guitar and drums?
Makes sense since Stones used Ampegs
@Burgerman666 thats a kickass answer lol

@SweBass whats the name of that song?
How does this sound into an amp?
wow... ampeg in a box ... drool...
way too trebly and squashed sounding. Really it sounds nothing like an amp. More like an uber compressed DI box
That sounds HARSH!
