Thanks for the support, Lorraine!
I love this exercise! I've been working with my posture for over 50 years and this one is already making a difference after only a few days! I also love the neck exercise with the stick. I appreciate you sharing these with us!
That's awesome Ariel! I'm so glad it's helping you!
What a great exercise! I love the tip of using the stick or yardstick for proper form also, brilliant.
Thanks so much, Em! I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Yoni - you are a Superman! :)

You're welcome, Peggy!
Hi there! I was looking at the ATU and was wondering which muscles is activating, could you share more about that? I have weak deep neck flexors and my physio gave me some exercises and was wondering how could ATU complement my daily practice, by understanding exactly which muscles it activates. Also, what is your advice about posture reminder devices, like Upright or Prana breathing and posture device? Thank you ever so much!
Wearing the ATU creates co-activation of the deep neck flexors, cervical & spinal extensors, the posterior chain and intrinsic muscles of the feet. All the muscles involved in resisting the pull of gravity. Posture is regulated at the subconscious level, any intervention that relies exclusively on conscious action to correct posture is doomed to fail in the long-term.
Can you do this with inguinal hernia?
Great question, Mark. Though the movement itself poses little risk to an inguinal hernia, the increase in intraabdominal pressure needed to brace/stabilize the body does have the potential to irritate a hernia.
What if you can't get down on the floor?
Thanks for asking! Here's another great posture building exercise that's performed from a standing position: th-cam.com/video/NIxQdFeJRz4/w-d-xo.html
This wasn’t for me it’s for my mum it’s work but I need a this video can u make a how to make your cheeks not hurt and if u made one can u tag it I need it thanks yoni
You're welcome! I really hope it's helpful for your mother!
Thank u ☺️
Can this be done on a regular bed? I can't get up off the floor and I don't have a massage or PT table. I have very large breasts and a large belly. Will this work?
Hi Jennifer, A regular bed would likely be too soft a surface for this movement. But, here's another great posture building exercise that's performed from a standing position: th-cam.com/video/NIxQdFeJRz4/w-d-xo.html
Is this OK with severe osteoporosis?
Great question, Ann! Strength training is crucial for people with osteoporosis. This exercise is a great choice because it targets the very important muscles that run along the spine, is zero impact and uses only your body weight. With that said, you should always consult with your healthcare provider before incorporating new exercises into your fitness plan.
I am a senior citizen and can NOT get on and off the floor.
I completely understand, Beverly. Here's another great posture building exercise that's performed from a standing position: th-cam.com/video/NIxQdFeJRz4/w-d-xo.html
Since I live alone, I practice getting down and up from the floor by myself. While doing this exercise, I make sure my front door is unlocked and I have my cell phone within reach. You never know when this exercise could save your life.
I also keep a spare phone in the bathroom. The bathroom can be the most dangerous room in your house.
So important@@Susan.Lewis.to retain the ability to get down and up from the floor! And crucial to take steps to ensure your safety at all times when practicing - Bravo!
