Yes!!She did that in all her song with the rap part like the one in Shutdown. Even in Absence her tone slightly change when she sang the second verse with melodic rap part. If you listen to her “Trying to say goodbye” (cover version , year 2020 not the official remake), you can notice that too.

To be honest, if they didn't have moonbyul it would have been the group's debut and disband, she did them a favor and that's how they paid her, with years and years of mistreatment and indifference.

I always said thay Byul have the wider vocal range on Mamamoo and maybe the best vocal control, and holding a song with that high tones in her natural voice changing betwen falsetos and head voice is a prove of that.

Lots of idols are amazing singers and lots of them have undeniably amazing stage presence, but I've never seen the passion that we see here with Moonbyul, and Mamamoo as a whole, with their performances. They make it so clear how much they love music and how passionate they are about performing. You feel like you're with them on the stage, rather than watching them as an audience.

I feel so emotional watching her performance. I still remember how she cried saying that she felt a lot of pressure being the rapper of a vocally focused group, especially how it felt during ballad performances because she's usually just standing there during a long ballad performance because her part is only seconds long. It made her doubt her singing.
Now look at her, releasing songs after songs, winning a daesang for being an amazing mc, had her first concert in Japan, and owning every stage in this competition. Moonbyul deserves this kind of recognition. I'm so proud of her.

Actually this is viral both in Korea and twitter Kpop stan in 2days. Her stage presence is acually made me cry, her smile reflect how happy to show in national TV show about her hided range, Moonbyul is actually the best hit high notes among Mamamoo members as Solar and Wheein said, because her high notes is not easily made her damage her throt ( neck?), The problem is actuay her CEO and Producers always understaimated her, if you notice on mamamoo songs especially Ballad genre, moonbyul got only a little line, and she always not to sing in chorus even though she want to sing in chorus, they always reject her. ( She said this in Vline, when they recorded a b-side songs " Another Day ")
Tbh i think it will be hard to make a song where moonbyul sings together with 4 of them. Her voice just stands out that much. I think its bcoz she just has this boyish undertone to her voice, so....

@@hmm-kt3rk I don't think so.. first bc the songs like 'Paint Me' where she sings sings are awesome, she's great at harmonizing with them and also.. she's recorded a few songs with Solar now and their voices really go well together.. plus remember Hwasa's tone is way lower than Solar, so it can actually work perfectly. I think in the past Byul-y was so understimated and discouraged she didn't have the confidence to do the most with her vocals abilities.. I'm hoping now she got the confidence back she can show off not only with her solo songs but also in Mamamoo.
@@hmm-kt3rk As a moomoo I vehemently disagree, everyone in Mamamoo has very different vocals from each other, the producer was lazy and didn’t believe in her. And she still harmonizes in some MMM songs. But she has a subunit song now with Solar, and their voices match perfectly well! They also have a medley in Solarsido and they sound great singing together!

Kill it Byul! I wish RBw had made more use of Byul’s vocals in MMM group songs. There are a handful where we get some vocalist Byul outside of harmony. People seem to forget that she trained as a vocalist before having to become a rapper. And she is a damn good vocalist. I love her voice be it rapping or singing. I think moonbyul is a very good singer, probably top 20 percent in kpop. However Mamamoo is the top singers in the industry and Moonbyul is an Alto so I understand why she is their rapper. I know her group loves her and I can see how they are arranging music to include her singing more. I believe we will see more singing from her in the future
I always thought her voice would match to rock sound very well. And it DOES! What a talent, what a presence. So proud of her finally being able to showcase her talent. Love!
