    I have to say I appreciate my friends that don't take EVERY PR or sponsorship offer that comes their way❣️ Maybe it's snarky but I don't want to see a cheap jewelry brand ad from my beauty space friends 😂 I always show up to support but it's just not my vibe ❣️
    Fantastic review as always, Dr. Claire ❣️

      Hi Laurel! Thank you! ❤️ I know, I agree, there is so much irrelevant stuff being talked about. It felt weird to finally say yes to something if I'm honest. I was so relieved when these were actually good and I enjoyed them. 🤣

    Great video as always. I bought the tester pack from Luxador and enjoy almost all of them... the Mojave Ghost is a bit odd smelling for me. The good girl gone bad and the Eclat D'Arpege are gorgeous. If you like these you will LOVE generic perfume oils. I think they are more accurate and dont seem to have as much of a fixative smell to my nose. Also if you want an amazing dupe of Bal D'Afrique perfume parlour does one thats delicious.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's really interesting that another Byredo didn't hit right for you. Thanks for sharing your experience with these! ❤️ I was so impressed with LDBS, I can imagine GGGB is a great one and Eclat d'arpege would seem a good one to have as an oil. So many people recommend perfume parlour, I guess lots of people have tried them and they are good. But yes generic perfume oils sounds like a brand I should try. Thanks for watching 🥰

      Perfume Parlour is really good. I enjoy a lot of the oils, as well as their extract perfumes. The Bal d’Afrique is my number 1 favorite there, followed closely by a dupe of Tom Ford noir de noir. I live in the Caribbean, but order from them anyway. I also buy oils from Universal Perfumes and Cosmetics, in Dubai. Thanks for introducing us to this one. I will definitely be trying them🙏🏼🙏🏼.

    I haven't tried Luxodor perfume oils, but have tried Oil Perfumery. I like them because it lets me try a fragrance out before buying a full bottle or it gives me something to layer with a favorite scent.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! Absolutely! Oil perfumery are lovely! I have an impression of Chanel Beige from Julija in Canada, it's very close the original, which is incredibly expensive and actually hard to find in stores here or to find affordable samples of. That one layered well with Prada la femme too. I would never have tried Chanel Beige without trying the oil first! Thanks for watching 🥰

  • @ALLIENYC
    @ALLIENYC ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Luxodor sounds like a great brand to work with. I am a big fan of a good fragrance. Wow that is good to know the same ingredients as the more expensive brands. The packaging is stellar just gorgeous. Vanilla and musk yes please! I totally agree with you, the dry down is key. I wore a fragrance from Prada one winter day and I was on the subway and the person sitting across from me asked what I was wearing I got noticed for sure. Ooo a figgy scent I love the scent of fig. I would love to get a dupe for Lost Cherry. Yes rose can be tricky. I used to use a rose oil and when it dried down it vaguely smelled like urine. I so may have to get the Tom Ford inspired scent glad this was one of your recommendations. 👍🥰☺

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes some of these were absolutely spot on and most were really lovely even if there were slight differences. Luxodor were very low pressure and just wanted reviews, I would definitely try more of their fragrances, they were good! The lost cherry clone in particular was really very good. Thanks for watching 🥰

    I thought I'd commented. Maybe I did? Stupid Tube.
    But a great overview of these Claire, they don't sound too bad at all.
    Appreciate the honesty as always. We need more like you over here.
    I can imagine they are a great intro to these fragrances and a great way to get an idea of what they are like.
    I tried two of Dior's Oils today and wow, I actually thought they were beautiful. It's a good and different way of perfumery isn't it.
    It's interesting that a couple were way off but others smell them as similar, our noses are such complex things aren't they.
    Thanks for the honest introduction to them 😊

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! ❤️ yes I enjoyed trying these and spent a crazy amount of time trying to accurately compare them to the originals... I spent a lot of time furtively oiling and spraying in shops when I didn't have samples 🤣
      I think I agree, if someone isnt sure about the originals and just wants to love with the scent profile for a bit, these would be perfect.
      Oils are something I never really thought much about but actually a great oil is even more convenient than a spray and takes up no space whatsoever. I would definitely take the LDBS on a weekend away or something like that.
      Yes, we are all different and I think maybe people zoom out compared to me maybe 🤷‍♀️ who knows 🤣

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you ❤️ Yes me too, I don't mind different, the ones that smelt different were still lovely. I wasn't keen on the PDM Delina exclusif, but more because I simply don't love Delina exclusif rather than because of the oil. Same with bal d'afrique, it was different to the original but still a nice fragrance. Thanks for watching 🥰

      I know what you mean. I tried them and I want them but they are so so expensive! I think if you like mystery and intrigue and want to give off a bit of an aloof vibe, Portrait of a Lady is a good one. Carnal Flower to me is grrr, it's beautiful, it's voluptuous, a little tropical, but also a little dirty. Carnal Flower is the one that has grabbed me, but I do also really like the Portrait of a Lady too. 🥰

      Yes that bal d'afrique was really way off. I did actually check whether luxodor did the Mancera choco violet fragrance in case it was a case of mislabelling but they don't 🤷‍♀️ the fragrance is pleasant just not similar to bal d'afrique 🤣 the lost cherry and also the love don't be shy fragrances are absolutely excellent though! Thanks for watching Fiona! Happy Wednesday ❤️

    28:58 Miss Dior Cherie was intended to be the youthful younger sister of the original Miss Dior, so it makes sense that it’s very different to the 2012/17/21 Miss Dior’s (which were/are targeted to older adults and loosely connected to MD and MDC)… but it seems with the 2021 version they may be reverting back to a youthful type of scent 😅

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would love to smell the original! I am so curious to know if that oil is similar or not... I have the 2012 and that is a very grown up chypre, much like Coco mademoiselle. I can't imagine Miss Dior Cherie being close to that from its note profile. I tried 2021 and it was very different again! You are right!

    Hi Claire! These oils sound interesting... I might have to check them out (along with the ever growing list of fragrances I would like to test... it's never ending...). The LDBS one sounds interesting.😍 I bought a travel spray of it after testing it and other similar fragrances (Perdizione and Oriana). I prefered the Kilian one, but a full bottle is $$$.

    Can oil as a medium have an effect on the scents? If so, might that account in the difference you sensed in the notes in some of the oils?
    I tend not to use perfume oils because I'm worried about them staining my clothes.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kat! I think probably you are right and that oils can be inherently different to sprays, on the whole these were all quite close, I did really focus on trying to find any differences in them but for most it was minor. I'd say that actually using oils is probably better for me for not staining clothes. In the summer with t shirts especially, I spray perfumes and then quite often I get a stain and have to change 🤦‍♀️ the oils though, cos I apply them to my wrists and very specifically to my neck sometimes, I've not had a problem with. The only thing I'd say is the lveb l'eclat oil clone was very very darkly coloured and I would be worried if I got that on my clothes!
