How is fishing underrated when AFK fish farms have always been a thing and when Mojang made changes to fishing the community immediately started figuring out how to keep making AFK fishing farms.

I used to do fishing sessions on the server I was on. Just a bunch of us getting together to sit, fish up random stuff, and chat. Built up an entire area to do it in, too. Memories of West Harbor. People built their paths out to it, even had a guild of people build rail from their base out there. I got to help with it. Basic redstone to collect the minecarts on arrival and a switch to change where you went when you leave. I sectioned off an area outside the harbor for people to do a build battle in. It was a lot of fun even though only half the people who signed up showed up. Gave away 2 stacks of diamond blocks as prizes. My shop made a lot of sales. I think it helped that I checked it daily and rotated stock as needs arose. Makes me want to do it all over again.
Sounds so fun, just love pleasant calm sessions like that. I used to be the designated fisher on a server I frequented. We didn't really have shops, but I fished A LOT so I could give stacks of cooked fish to other members. Good times :')

When I started watching Hermitcraft in season 6, I was in middle school. Now I am watching this VOD while studying for my first university midterm. This is my favourite season by far, I love how a lot of people are just embracing the early game and not rushing to get the best tools, armour and enchants. I also love the more chaotic videos that are being posted more frequently. I would much rather watch 2 videos a week with little progress actually being done then waiting a month for an upload just ot get a 2 minute speedbuild of that person's hard work.
I remember the first time I played Dredge and I went to the basin she's talking about at 35:30. And I was franticly looking for somewhere to harbor for the night when I stumbled on the arms and stuff there. It absolutely scared me to death.

This stream gave me some good luck for my fishing. I was fishing for a mending book myself as well, I got one that has both mending and sweeping edge 3 on the 1 book, basically completing my sword (except for sharpness 5, which is currently at sharpness 4)

I like the idea of building under your neighbors or right up to or even framing off the side of them like a crusted city busy. Under ground train ,boat streams at water level roads with bridges over the rivers. And landing spots for elytra users.
I don't know if this is "a thing" (maybe Xisuma knows) but I found I get more books when fishing "indoors" like in caves or where the sky is blocked. Like cave lakes.
Everywhere anglers have their magical fishing spots. I live in Poland on the Baltic Sea. we have many lakes here and it is normal that for many years people have been coming somewhere between the stone and the tree, casting a fishing rod, e.g. to the left under the leaning tree next to the stone. believing that their dream big fish has been hiding there for a long time

I’m thinking the assumption of not getting the due book ever 100 fishes or whatever the stat Grian said was, is due to not every noticing if a few of the fishes were cast in just the wrong depth of water. Most of us fish in big rivers but angle right at the big spot but maybe don’t notice when the line drifts just a bit too close to some blocks and then our treasure might’ve been thrown off. Giant open open is safer to know that you’re 100% getting that full chance of treasure
I'm ngl I'm starting to get inspired by Grian by his fishing grind, now I'm starting to understand why the other Hermits were wanting to fish now because now I kinda wanna fish too after seeing him on his grind.
They likely use depth finders. It uses sonar to paint a picture and you can tell the terrain on the bottom and see if there’s fish or not. Some fish congregate to certain areas and it becomes your spot. We did this growing up at the river 30 out from us.
Chatty fishing streams are so fun! I certainly wouldn’t mind having one of these every so often. Also, the idea of linking up the cherry mountain ocean with deepfrost bay is really cool! Lots of neat decorating opportunities in the tunnel transitioning between areas, I’d guess! Really loving the season so far Gem, thanks for the stream!

It's easy to make Terracotta if your Badlands are far away from you.. Use drip stone to turn mud into clay then ,use a furnace to make Terracotta.. Or you could buy clay then bake it of course..
