Self love is not properly taught from school or religion but sacrifice concept is romanticize by society. Hence, total confusion for people in learning to appreciate themselves. Also, defending oneself from criticism of self family, friends, or society can be somehow solve by learning proper self love. As long self love is in balance with social harmony then it is a good way of ignoring senseless critics.
