- Zach & Zoe Sweet Bee Farm owners Kam and Summer Johnson started keeping bees after learning how raw and local honey could benefit their son, who suffered with asthma and seasonal allergies. After studying how to best keep bees, harvest honey, and keep up their own bee farm, they were able to sell their local honey to restaurants around NYC, and even have a shop in Chelsea Market. zachandzoe.co/

I've never seen like a beekeeping video where someone actually gets stung
It stops hurting eventually. And most of the bees we keep are docile in nature.

It depends on the breed of the bees, some breeds are extremely calm some not.
if you keep bees and never get stung you can build up an extreme allergy to it so its best to just get stung every now and again.
You don’t need to suit up unless you have a wasp problem like he shows you in the video. Be nice if people understood bees
Power couple, they're exactly where I'd want to be heading in life! Supportive relationship, working hard and they are their own bosses, they own a nice patch of land and have cute kids. What more could you ask for in life?

Everyone reacts different on stings, I feel it for 2-3 hours and then it's done. Others swell up for 1-2 days.
I think his body gets used to it by now. I remember when I got stung the first time I had a mild fever and my ear swelled up for over 2 weeks now after around 2 years when a bee stings me the swelling subsides after half a day.
@@ualuuanie I use bee sting on my Di©k when its time to swellup and spoon. Its just like natural viagara! 😹

@@robotman5435 In South Africa it is the same, the disparity between the rich and poor is often denoted by race as well. You are able to see a lot of white owned businesses but not black businesses. This is due to the fact that a lot of white people grew up with money while black people most likely grew up from a destitute background - therefore, funding is an issue for many black businesses and that is one of the reasons why you do not see black businesses often. I am not too familiar with the USA, but this is something that a lot of black businesses in South Africa go through.
OP isn't saying white businesses are bad, but you can pretty much infer that the rise in black businesses is good because 1) black people are starting to have more money to create their own businesses 2) more black people are getting more opportunity. You must note that commending another group of people never equates to bashing another group of people. It is incredibly important to support local businesses, especially during these times.

While it's not to say white businesses are not amazing, I think it's amazing more black people are getting more opportunity, are earning more money, and are getting represented in more healthy/positive ways (I dunno if that makes sense but basically I support your comments).

I started eating local, raw honey regularly. I help support our local bee keepers & it has helped a ton with my allergies! My favorite is the father/son duo. Son is 10 and is so passionate & knowledgeable.
I have a hive myself and it’s a really interesting experience, it takes more work and money to get started than you think. You can’t just get them and forget about it, books and advice are essential! Especially if you live in states with a long cold winter!
This is such a great story- what an interesting path. Love his relationship with his mentor and how pragmatic his wife was about the realities of working with family.
And of course- his poor wrist man 😬

Native New Yorker from Bensonhurst Brooklyn born and raised 🇮🇹 💯% i was lucky enough to be in Chelsea market during the summer and i got some of the raw honey and raw honey with blueberries and honeycomb absolutely delicious especially the honeycomb id never had raw honeycomb before its phenomenal

In Greece we make also dark honey. Not so sweet. And that's good for people who don't eat sugar or have diabetes.But yeah this honey seems wonderful too.
