Blackstar Fly 3 - full demo/review

- I am revisiting the popular and awesome sounding Blackstar Fly3 mini amp.
I am playing with my custom Tele Plus to demo all the features and tones you can get from this great amp.
I've also added the Fly 103 extension cabinet which doubles the output from 3 Watts to 6.
In my opinion you won't find a better mini amp than the Fly 3.

Love yr down to earth, on the fly approach. Honest and informative. I'm loving my ID 10 and considering this for its portability, not that the 10 is hard to move around. Greetings from Australia!

Landon, I just got the whole kit (amp, extension speaker, power supply) and am really looking forward to trying it out! I found a carrying case that holds all three pieces perfectly: the Canon 100ES shoulder bag (model 9320A023), available for $13 on Newegg and $17 on Amazon. It fits like it was made for Blackstar. Now the whole kit is portable!

I added velcro from the dollar store to the .top of the ext can and bottom of the Fly and added the strap lock and strap and just walk around collecting $$$$$$$$$$$$$. The ext cab adds a lot of Balls ! I wish it had a lithium battery and USB charging. Loved your Halloween Instagram video.

Nothing comes close. It's the best, but who cares if it was just runner up with its sound and feature set at its price point. I already had a Fly 3 + 103 combo pack, but the Fly 3 is so inexpensive and so good, I bought a second just for the ultra convenience of it's footprint occupancy & portability. My wife cracks if I leave even the ID:Core 40 in the family or living room, but couldn't care less about me leaving a Fly 3 on the coffee table or inconspicuously elsewhere there. Happy wife happy life.

My Fly 3 was rattling. I was so bummed ! It turned out one of the three screws wasn`t all the way tightened...now I`m HAPPY again ! Full British ISF is the way I go with my Epiphone L.P. gain and volume around 2pm.

The screws! It's always the damned screws! One day in the far distant future, archeologists will be examining the remains of our civilization. They will be unsurprised to discover that it was the screws that caused our downfall.

Will this amp work well with an acoustic-electric guitar? I not sure if I like the sound of the acoustic version.
It will work. I can't say if it will sound good though
If you use both the speakers connected to a laptop do you get stereo or is it just mono like with a guitar?
superelectic45 ya if the input signal is a stereo source you will get stereo. that's through the line in

Do you think that this sounds better than the Vox Pathfinder 10?
no. but the Pathfinder is much bigger. really good low end
@@landonbailey what about the frontman? Any chance you'd know if it sounds better than a must I v2?
haven't compared them myself. I would say the frontman is the weakest amp

I don't believe the little speakers would be able to handle bass
Is it louder than the Rogue G5 battery operated amp
It's possible that the Fly 3 is louder with the extension cabinet attached. You would have to hear both in person to be sure.

tonally they are similar. I like the options on the Boss more, but the Fly 3 is more compact. depends on your needs. both are great
