Finally pulled the trigger on the Hibiki Master Select Limited Edition travel, how do you think it will compare against the standard Harmony LE?

I do like the Masters Select above the standard Hibiki - it has more sherry versus say the Mizunara fragrant profile of older blends and a better blend of aged spirits (including grain) in my opinion. Unlike other blended whiskies where the difference is in the degree of aged casks, Hibiki blends are usually very delicately fine tuned to bring out the tastes and aromas of their extensive cask collection - it is indeed a true work of art in every bottle. Well worth to pick up at Duty Free versus the standard Hibiki.

How much liquor can we legally bring back to US? If bought overseas and put in checked bags?

That Hibiki is gorgeous. It's a big price tag, but I'm not sure that I could pass on it. It's just such a display piece.

So interesting that you technically got a significant deal on the Master Select in comparison to LAX.
It wasn’t the LE packaging, but I snagged the second to last bottle of Master Select in Haneda’s duty free last month for $88

That's a deal indeed. Unlike some Duty Free bottling from other producers, I think the Masters select is a big step above the standard Hibiki - see my notes above. Good catch indeed.

Cagen Cee, Thanks for the comment, yea the discount, even with the hassle of having to get it shipped back to the US, I think was worth it. I hope you have a great rest of your day, Cheers!

You really need to learn how to pronounce what you buy and drink… Pretty sure “Yoshi” is Mario Brothers character

HotSkillet, Thanks for the comment, its weird because I passed the vocab test at the store, I guess they just let anybody buy these.... JK, I hope you have a great rest of your day, Cheers.
P.S. I'll work on that pronunciation.

@@Whiskey1It’s not just a pronunciation; could be taken as an insult or offensive; just not appropriate. Pretty sure some, if not most of the U.S. whiskey enthusiasts would be offended if Jack Daniel’s was pronounced as Joke Dunholes.
Understand the history of this town and the legacy of Masataka Taketsuru sort of an insult to some enthusiasts especially when your attempt is to highlight a product on social media.
