Carter Beauford does that all the damn time, too, when he's drumming! He makes it look so easy you don't really realize how good he is sometimes. Aaron is on another planet, though. I just don't understand this guy. He's an alien and I want to be abducted!
Man! Aaron is one of those few drummers who make something technically challenging look as easy as smoking a cigarette! His chops and fluidity is just ridiculous! 👍🏻
i think those are the best kind of drummers. it just kills it when someone looks like they are struggling, even if what they are playing is very impressive. making it look easy kinda takes it from a skill to being art.
The power hits on the snare fills are awesome and drop into the pocket of the rhythm like nothing else. The anticipation of the "Mambo" vocals and the accompanying symbol smash really lends to the musicality of the piece and marks it as a sharp departure from your typical noisy drum solo.
i love one thing about aaron spears, apart from the fact that his rudiments and groove is heavy, his rudiments are always so creative and very challenging to understand what he even plays at times especially the rudiments and his breaks and his timing .

IDK I see some use for it. But what it does for that crash is done much better by the Trashformer. Only drummer who I know uses the spirals is Ray Luzier and if I'm right he had Sabian make them for him (since he is a Sabian endorser)
No. He has been using this stack for quite some time now. I don't know of any company that does unless it's a quick promo video to promote a new product.
