Gojira's one of those bands that talks a lot about the environment, I think this song's about global warming where sea levels would rise and there'd be water all over and instead of birds or planes there would be whales "flying" all above us.
Ocean Planet was my introduction to Gojira and from that day on I have been a fan going to every concert I can (only one😢 though because of area) and supporting everything they do. Will always go back and listen to Ocean Planet every time I play some Gojira
Gojira - born in winter. Art of dying Also flying whales is about astral travel. From Mars to sirius is a concept album and tells the story of someone travelling from mars(planet) to sirius(a star) the flying whales are guides
Love Goijra, and love that I've found my way to you guys several times by looking for reactions to my fav bands. Find it really cool that although this isn't your primary genre', you're both just music fans, and you keep an open mind to seeing other masters flex in their space.
@@richtigersoan they have much better songs than Bleed. Try Straws Pulled At Random, Rational Gaze, and New Millenium Cyanide Christ. Bleed is good but overrated imo

they dropped this song at 2018 Melbourne Download Festival and literally everyone lost their shit. Best mosh ever \m/ Also Mario is regarded as one of the industries finest drummers from a technical and progressive perspective. Also a really hard hitter which just adds to the power of his technique. From Mars to Sirius is considered a Technical/Progressive Death Metal record The riffing and drumming on this album is unbelievably heavy
I would’ve killed to go to that show.... whoever went there got a memory for a lifetime! I hope they do it again one day. Seeing a concert at The Red Rocks is a huge bucket list item for me!
Mario, the drummer of the band, is widely appreciated amongst metal fans, as being one of the most incredible performers in the scene, and an absolute clockwork powerhouse drummer. He plays and creates with such an evident passion, that he has won over even metalheads who don't necessarily dig that particular subgenre of metal. He gets love from those that know...you know?
You guys know how to "REACT". So many reaction videos they're just stopping every 5 seconds to get too deep. You guys actually listen and the reaction is raw. I'll be watching more of y'all for sure!!! Thanks for the great content.
When I first heard this song, I imagined whales actually jumping out of the water and flying across the sky.... Gave me hard chills and still it does even writing this comment
I just started binge listening to Gojira about a week ago. Can't believe I waited on them for so long. Almost everything they've made is GREAT!!! Favorites so far Yama's Messengers Lava In the Wilderness These guys do every bit as much with their music as Tool does
I love that you made relations with metal and fine painting that on the surface people go eh. And when you dive in and really sit in and listen to the music its so enjoyable
I was waiting for the day you react to this song. It's an absolute banger, it's amazing. "L'enfant Sauvage" is my fave song by them, you should react to it too. Other good ones are "This Emptiness", "The Art of Dying", "Silvera", "Vacuity", "Esoteric Surgery", "Where Dragons Dwell", "Heaviest Matter of the Universe", and so many more I can't even recall right now. Amazing band.
It's a concept album. I believe it's about the whales migrating to a new planet, finding a new home, a rebirth. Gojira have always talked/wrote about Environmental issues. Their new song "Amazonia" off their upcoming album is another good example of this. This album is a classic. It really should be listened to by anyone with an interest in rock music to hear how heavy metal music evolved and transformed into sounds that could not have ever been thought of when Black Sabbath laid down those initial riffs, 35 plus years ago prior to this release.
The best feeling is when you dont like a song and come back after listening to it for weeks and go back and see your favourite reactors reacting to the song
Saw Gojira in 2019. They made me an instant fan. Phanominal musicians and they sound amazing live. Keep on the Gojira path! There are many more you'll like from them
Dude... you can't go wrong with Gojira. I really hope you check out the Batmetal Trilogy soon. (Edit: The band is Dethklok... but I told you all this on Patreon)

My son went to an outdoor festival and it poured rain just at the beat drop in this song before the vocals kick in. Everyone was covered in mud and soaked to the skin but happy. lol
That's why Tool's original bass player quit. He didn't like all the time spent rehearsing for the first two albums. Then Aenima came around which was more complex and required even more rehearsal, so he was like, "yeah nah, I'm out, mates." What an idiot.
A couple songs that aren’t really as well known as the songs that other people are recommending but are probably some of their best work are: Fire is everything, Blow me away you (niverse) Deliverance, Adoration for none, and Clone
If you're wondering if the drummer ever gets tired, the answer is no. If you want proof, check out Where Dragons Dwell live at Hellfest 2013! The second half of the song is unreal!!
Mario is definitely a super underrated drummer in my opinion. If you haven’t done it already, check out Toxic Garbage Island or Art of Dying. If you liked this one then you’ll love those two.
So many good Gojira songs. Big fan of their first album "Terra Incognita". More death metal style vocals but the music is amazing. Definitely recommend "Blow Me Away You (niverse)" from that album. Its got a great groove to it.

Gojira Is named after godzilla. They are also big supporters of the sea Shepard project. Oroborus is a good one
The only 3 bands that I listen to..Tool,Gojira and Meshuggah..they have really set the bar in music writing.
Great 3 to listen to. Btw the band we were referring to was Meshuggah
