Hard Material Design

By the term "Hard Materials" it is indicated those craft materials that possess some kind of hardness and strength properties so that they can be punched, beaten, drilled, molded, fabricated, painted, polished etc. The students prefer to design and develop a range of accessories, decorative items, furniture etc. Materials like stone, wood, metal and alloys, gems, bamboo, cane etc are mostly used. Students are taken to field visits to make them familiar with the industry needs. The Department has fully dedicated wood workshop and metal workshop with all kind of machinery. Mix material design is also encouraged. Students prefer to work in different places all over India and abroad.
