    Hey dad, just fyi from a woman with long hair that does woodworking, please have your daughter put her hair up before using any tools. Long locks getting caught up in a saw or drill is not good. however, I love her taking ownership! Great job y'all!

      I so agree with both comments. The room is looking amazing because of all the TLC and exra finishes. Great work done by you three adults! Yet, having been a safety officer at two manufacturing companies, I second (or 22nd) the concern about long hair needing to be firmly tied away from Nevaeh's head because if her gorgeous hair was accidently captured, the speed of the equipment determines how fast any injury would occur. Another important protection is a pair of safety goggles since chips of wood (hard plastic, metal, glass, or sparks from grinding an object) sometimes fly off and might hit unprotected eyes.
      I am looking forward to each room that y'all finish with great pleasure. Thanks so much for sharing with us! : )

    I really look forward to watching the progress you are making on the tiny home inside the barn. It looks amazing with all the little touches you add as you go along! I have to be honest....I can't wait to see what you do with the main house. Your channel is so different from all the others I've watched. It's hard to explain..you can see the drive and determination..but you also see the joy and satisfaction in everything you do. You two come across as genuine and honest..playful..and in love. Nothing comes across as rehearsed, or scripted. You don't beg for money, or hint at your viewers to send you anything..and above all else..you don't nag us to hit that like button, comment, or subscribe! Everything is so laid back and calming. It's a real pleasure to watch your family build your dream, and an honor to be allowed to share in that adventure. Again.. Thank you SO much for sharing your lives with us all:)

    One thing you might want to try. I know you're liking how the osb turned out painted but in your family room / kitchen area you could easily go with a smooth texture over the osb by thinning down drywall mud and applying like plaster. Simple, effective and above all an inexpensive way to achieve that finished drywall look without the dry wall expense.

    • @GoodSimpleLiving

      @@GoodSimpleLiving Fair enough, it does look good when finish painted and trimmed out. I've gone that route and the drywall mud route as well In the same build to great effect.

    • @greywolfwalking6359
      @greywolfwalking6359 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Twomidgetsonahorse If you use your choice of paint with the mud... N spay it on , it will create a " fresco like finish", that has paint color thru n thru! As it gets life marks in it, you will not notice cause it's not painted on it is part of the wall ! Be creative with it in design .. N you will have your own Fresco!

    Good job! I have a construction background with extensive millworks, application: my suggestions are as follows; it is easier and less expensive if you buy the caulking in tubes,and use caulking gun too apply it, and if you use a small container of water, to dip your fingers in makes it smooth out easier and gives a professional finish. The other is on the trim pieces on the ceiling: is to repeat the layout on the opposite side; this will create a better finish look on the ceiling. So one side covers the butt joints of the OSB, the other matches it in a faux appearances. Looks good though, it won't be long until your family has more breathing room. God bless amen.

    Good morning from New Hampshire! Muggy/rainy/thunderstorms here. We cut 3,000 bales and had to stop for a week. Hoping to resume on Saturday. Yes-Yes- Braid that hair back !! When my hair was that length, I almost got it caught in the TRACTOR PTO :-O :-O- That could have been a disaster! Good news though, that you are teaching your children valuable homestead tool/equipment skills. I MISS my Dad. He was THE BEST! I was a female Denise the Menace in flower print overalls and tagged along after him on his projects. He taught me so many skills. Between his wisdom/teaching and Grandma Hazel's OLD WAY- Depression workshops, Today, I am able to weather this pandemic as a FARM WIFE :-)- We on the farm are carrying on as usual and are OK.
    And I will TAKE " OK "......

      She’s oh so talented & sweet! I looked at her site! There’s much she’s played that’s really sophisticated. There’s a piece she played where she was tapping on the instrument panel & playing on the neck as well. Really, these fractal parts that she connects really well!! #* Has she thought of playing the VIOLIN or similar instrument? *I THINK, especially at 13 or whatever age, there’s much she Iearn!!

    The details in the bedroom adds flair and symmetry very nice touch as with the neutral colors leaving plenty of room for accents e.g pictures, furniture, linens, etc. A very forward-thinking project.

    New trim totally transformed the space. Looks great. I wasn’t sure about OSB on the walls and ceiling, but it turned out so good.

    Hey mama bear get yourself a large tube of Dap with the metal attachment that adds the trigger. Saves trying to get the last of the product out of the tubes with out putting the strain on your fingers. Love what you’re building great family.

    Yep! That is the way mine looked after covering the seams. When I hung pictures and other art work up the trim framed them out even better. Made my headboard of my bed seem bigger too.
