    Very helpful! Thank you. I followed your procedure carefully after installing new front brake pads and replacing the entire rear brake components. No issues at all, except the ABS light remained on for the first mile of driving. It went off and all is good with my '02 P38. I couldn't have been so successful without this instruction. Keep it up please. These vehicles are becoming classics...

    Once again a great video! Have just bled the brakes on my son's P38. Watched this first, made notes and followed your instructions. Very pleased. Your videos give me the confidence to have a go at jobs that I would not normally do. I am no mechanic but have had some success following your lead. Thanks

      Great to hear back from viewers like yourself. I'm thrilled to hear that you attempt to do things like this. Thank you so much for the kind feedback. I'm just happy if someone finds the videos useful. I'm no expert either, but just have this as an hobby like most of you viewers. Thanks for watching and for taking time to write comments!

      Just to add, if its a right hand drive car, you start on the front right, then front left, rear right then rear left.

    A great video as always! Does it matter what brand of Dot 4 brake fluid you top up with?

    ..i have seen plenty of brake bleeding videos and i never saw that they bleeding from master cylinder...is this specific for P38 or other videos just skipping important steps?

  • @asomind

    Amazing video as usual. For a fluid replacement, as per your instruction, is it enough to replace "repeat until there's no bubbles" with "repeat until new fluid comes out" ?

    Thank you for your useful videos. As a P38 owner, I am very glad. Have you ever had your brake booster or ABS pump repaired? I think these vehicles have really complicated braking system. what do you think?

    Followed the laid out step by step but the pump goes on after every second press on the peddle what could be the issue

    all was going well and clear until I got to the rear brakes and both bleeding nipples were completely dry and I could see that there has not been brake fluid in the rear calipers for years. Any ideas what could cause this?

    • @WorkOnP38
      @WorkOnP38  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thanks for watching. Sorry for the delay in response since I've been on vacation. I'd guess either a congested / bent line or stuck valves in the valve block under the brake reservoir would cause this. Could be electrical also. I believe you can run a test program using for instance something like the Hawkeye Diagnostics and perhaps many other solutions as well. That way you can verify if the valves are operating properly at least. The rear brake lines are independent from the hydraulic valve block though so I'm suspecting the issue is at the valve block. Maybe take off the lines going rear there (and the calipers) and try to blow compressed air to get any debris out if any.

    Hello Mister, first of all sorry for my bad English. All my compliments for your precious work; one question if you could kindly help me. My brake pedal have a very strange behaviour; when I press the pedal kick back my foot and the car stop in a very rude manner; after this first press the second press is normal in the next couple of minutes, then the "Kick back" appears again. I've tried a complete bleeding as your video, but no changes..Any idea will be very appreciated.
    Thanks anyway and compliments again.

      Hi Fabio. I'm thinking maybe the ABS system somehow puts pressure back at the pedal. Maybe a bad seal somwhere. However I'd check the fourms like rangerovers.net and landyzone.co.uk to see if anyone else has had the same issue. It's a new one for me so sorry I can't help much. Good luck and thanks for watching!

      @@WorkOnP38 Hello and Thank you for your attention kind reply: eventually I've solved changing the Abs pump, probably it has some kind of a no return valve built inside that failed. 60 pounds for a used one from UK and all solved!

    Thanks for sharing ! Question.. do u have any idea where to add clutch fluid after repair? Some have a addingpoint above the clutch pedal, mine doesn't and seems to be connected to the healing circuit.. though IT is seperated. Please help me out. Greets Bram

    Dear sir I watched all your videos and thank you for them. May I ask you . When ignition on my abs pump run and never stop. I changed my brakes and by the way I couldn’t drive car at least 6 years closed in the garage. I changed my battery and motor oil and brake fluid in dash panel tc and abs faults

    • @WorkOnP38
      @WorkOnP38  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be the ABS pressure sensor in the pump, or bad connection somewhere. I think a code reader would help you verify any errors in the ABS system and determine the cause. Thanks for watching!

    Hi! Nice video. 3 days ago I replaced my accumulator. The air in the accumulator automatically go out of the system doing the bleed procedure? Because I read a case who fill up the accumulator with brake fluid before installing it. And I don’t know the times or the correct operation of the accumulator and the pump. Can you help me :( ? Approximately for how brakes application before the pump runs again. And how long time. Sorry for my bad English. Your videos are awesome!

    • @WorkOnP38
      @WorkOnP38  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ricardo. The workshop manual does not say to fill the accumulator, just replace it (and the rubber o-ring). The air will go out of the accumulator if you do the complete bleed procedure. Please see the workshop manual (pdf) linked in the description. It explains the steps, and how many times you need to perform them. The important part is just to make sure that only fluid comes out and no air bubbles. There's no exact number of times, it just depends on where the air is in the system. You will easily hear the pump run and stop. I probably did each bleed screw 4-5 times, and the second time 2-3 times. But it will vary for each vehicle. Good luck! Thanks for watching and your feedback :)
