  • This one gets 'em! Stonefly or general attractor colors, tie it in any color combo you can think of.
Note: The dark gray foam I mention at 4:00 or so, is only available through flyshops, from Hareline Dubbin.
    Check out the fly here:

Awesome stonefly pattern! I don't know how I missed this one from your channel, but can't wait to tie some up.
    Cheers

Hey Andrew... I love that all your flies are super durable Personally I love foam and how it can survive the mouth of a brown trout like no other material (well maybe except kevlar), I did see on Umpqua that you tie a Trico pattern, will you be doing a video on that sometime? if you do (I know that smaller flies are harder to film) if you took a few minutes to show your prep as well, I think that it would help I noticed that all your materials are pre-cut (in this video, for example, how wide do you decide to cut the pieces for an individual fly? ) which saves time but I think that it might help us to see the process. regardless your flies are amazing thanks for the channel and the inspiration!

Hey thanks for the feedback! I almost always explain proportions of stuff, but I neglected a couple in this video for sure. The width of the foam strips are all equal to the hook gap.
The trico pattern you saw is my "Spin Doctor." It's a quick little fly, I'll try to get that one tied on video soon.

Awesome. I've been waiting for this fly, trying to find out it's name ever since it was mistakenly added to Field and Stream.

      LOL.
You tie a nice fly and no doubt you have had great success with this pattern. The water walker has been a winner for many folks for many seasons. Just don't try to pass this off as new pattern, bud.@@andrewgrillosflyfishingfly1517

This is absolutely not a WW. Similar elements but an entirely different fly.

Hi Jer, Replying to mouth breathing cretin fly police cuts into my passion for aggressive inline rollerblading. Thank you for making the internet a safer place I bet the dancin Ricky is a little big for your local streams around boulder. Best of luck in your quest, be well
