Tying the User Friendly Fly with Andrew Grillos
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a great, versatile dry fly. It's got some parallels to my most popular fly, the Hippie Stomper, however the "User Friendly" is a bit more slender and lends itself to imitating mayflies as well as working well as a general attractor. Any size and color within reason works very well for me! NOTE: Use 2mm foam for sizes 10/12 and use 1mm foam for sizes 14-20. This fly is available from Umpq...

An absolutely indispensable fly on the creeks and rivers of Michigan and the Driftless regions. Drop one of Yvon Chouinard's Pheasant Tail & Partridge wet flies off the end and you are going to be in business. Plus, the Hippie Stomper is a joy to tie, and once you've gotten proficient you'll be a much better fly tier.

I found an awesome salmonfly pattern on TH-cam and made a bunch of notes. Then I just saved the video and threw my notes away. Now the video is gone; got pulled off for some reason and I've been bummed, until I found this today. This style is exactly what I like; just super super BUGGY and a true low-rider.
