Nice. A little trivia, in the 1980s anyone in the US Military who handled demolitions were not allowed to wear a digital watch. They might emit enough RF, radio frequency emission to set off an electric blasting cap. I just think it's hype anytime anyone says a watch was worn by SEALS or Special Forces. They may have accepted a free watch but they couldn't wear it doing any UDT work. I wore a Seamaster automatic watch.
I really love this. I'm not able to buy a watch now but it's going on my list. After being a quartz guy & discovering automatics, it's time to grow up & give quartz the respect it always deserved again.
@@VikCain It's no so much restraint as acknowledging the reality that a man has bills to pay. Someday, I'll be able to buy whatever watch I want. Today is not that day, though.
It’s a good looking watch, and I’m a ana-digi fan, but the user interface seems to be severely lacking, and the absence of a backlight is a pity too. I’ll stick with the Arnie.
If you want a movie watch but for tiny coin many casios have appeared on the big screen. From Mr Fox in BTTF to Mr Cruise in early MI right upto Kevin Heart wearing a Royale in the new Jumanji but to name a few all less than $50

Arnie definitely is a classic and icon, this Momentum pales in comparison. This is the reason why Arnie is so ever popular. But the best bang for buck for a solar AnaDigi is still a $40 Casio AQ-S810W you reviewed before. 😀
This looks just like the first real watch my dad got me as a kid! Really like it and it brings back good memories, plus that was a great strong watch since I wore it for my whole childhood and didnt have to even replace the battery (it definitely wasnt a solar since this was the early 90's)
Sounding a bit rough there fella. Wishing you better! I’ve just bought the new Citizen Promaster Land which has fulfilled my modern Ana-digi desires for the time being.
Great video, looking forward to the comparison! Like what Momentum is attempting here. A thin solar ani-digi ion plated diver with a tact-i-cool look is awesome!!! To get on my list I wish it had white hands, a second hand, a count down timer, bigger indexes that color match the lume on the hands. There is a lot to like here.
THANK YOU JODI!!!!! I've had my eye on this watch for a bit now but wanted to hold off until I saw your thoughts on it! I bought the sea quartz after watching your video and I absolutely loved it!!!! Sounds like I'll be holding off to see if momentum fixes those issues before I add a udt to my collection! Thank you for yet another awesome review! Keep up the amazing work! Cheers from Canada!
The Momentum Mini Eclipse is actually really neat. 30mm is way too small for me, but probably one of the nicest small divers I've seen. Solar Quartz, Sapphire crystal, 200m WR, a handset that doesn't seem copied from any particular diver, a unique dial layout (a big 12, round pips everywhere else except for the 4 o'clock date), black or silver/white dial, bezel inserts in every color of the rainbow, and on either a bracelet or rubber strap matching the bezel. Looks great, unlike anything else, and probably the most interesting small-small diver I've seen. I can't quite make peace with any of their big watch designs.
Momentum's QC leaves a lot to be desired... I have had two SQ30 Eclipse watches come with misaligned hands/ seconds hands. (must have been made at 3:58 pm on a friday) .Sent them back the 3rd one was the charm.. Soured me on the brand.
Misaligned second hands are very common with quartz watches, most quartz watches do not have second hands that are aligned correctly, even the expensive ones.
@@Murtagh653 that may be so however I can with great confidence say I have many many quartz watches battery powered, solar powered ,kinetic powered. Including king of misalignment Seiko.. All of them were perfect. Only my Momentum Eclipse 2 of them before I got a good one were misaligned.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the AMZWATCH's watches are the most intriguing.
I had a Bucherer branded UDT which had super clean looks. I’ve previously put my name down for one of these but they need to sort out, matching lume for the dial and hands, miss-functional buttons, weak bezel action and back-play. No date function is a bit of a let down too, as is no backlight.
Love the look of this but as I wear my Arnie while watching, it doesn’t inspire me to change. The Arnie is just great…but a head to head video would be fun
The old one looked a lot more interesting, with the seconds and the fourth hand timer thing (I assume it was a timer). It doesnt really look similar enough to be the same watch if they're going for Rambo fans as their audience. The pushers not working makes it moot though.
Great looking retro watches. That's one thing I like about my annie digi g-shocks. Very little to no lume on the dial, however a decent l e d back light lights the dial nicely. Definitely can find one of those 100 bucks or less u s. Have a look at the GA 700. It's a little Chunky, however it does the for legibility.
Very nice. I think I like this better than the Arnie. Although I’m not quite into ani / digi watches. Of course that’s what I said about quartz watches not too long ago, and I’ve done a complete 180 on that…😅
Oof. I really like this, the look is cool, the sizing is good, but they NEED to fix those pushers... Glad to see you are still able to criticize where it's merited even in a sponsored review!
I think the case and bezel are beautiful, and I love a good ana-digital. Great that they used a solar movement. I wish the dial was more than a draw-on. No backlight on the LCD is quite puzzling. What on Earth is going on with those buttons? If Momentum could clean up some things, I think they could be a really big player in the watch game. Their customer service is reportedly incredible. I think their yellow M20 MSS Diver might be one of the most attractive watches I've ever seen, but I haven't grabbed one because they just do a few weird things (like a 1-100 track instead of seconds, no applied logos, and I'll be snookered if I've ever seen their second hands hit the markers). Still, I stare at it dreaming of owning something that fire-hot gorgeous. Would I take this UDT over the Arnie? The truth is, I'd grab one of the colourful Citizen Promasters before either because it's simply better looking, better QC, and cheaper than either. No digital window, but I just don't know that the digital window is enough to overcome my reservations. Sure does look great on your wrist though.
Well I own 3 Momentum watches. The watch repair shop in my city is a dealer of momentum watches and for the price of alot of the watches they make is really good I think. Thanks for another great video Jody! I'm probably far into the minority, but I can't get myself to be interested in either digi or ani-digi watches, whether movie icon or not. They just scream cheap to me (no offense intended to those who love digital). I do own a Casioak, but I wear it primarily during sports and outdoor chores because it's light and tough, and not for its digital functionality or looks.
I certainly understand why they want to focus on the Rambo, Chronosport reissue, Navy Seals connection, but it's also a 'cousin' of the Breitling Pluto 3100. The uncommon quasi-double reissue
Love the look and was about to jump on the website to gauge pre orders. But: the lack of seconds hand, lack of backlight, average lume and issues with the pushers have convinced me otherwise. All of the things this does poorly, my Seiko Arnie does well. Shame, really.
thanks, Jodie: I now know not to bother with this one! I'm no fan of inconsistency for the buttons, given how repeatable the F91W is (for £10).
